In Baldur's Gate, if you beat someone with your fists, they just fall unconscious if their HP falls to 0. I think this would have been a good alternative
The more I watch, the more Rob earns my respect. The way he guides and keeps everyone in check while still giving the feeling that the characters have the freedom to do whatever they want is awesome!

I love how Rowan was like "I want to see how you handle it if my character doesn't go along with the quest line" to rob. And Rob's like "go ahead. I got this"

I really like how Rob roleplayed a way to force the players to go on the adventure. Not only was it hilarious, but it allowed the guys to play their characters reluctance and it was amazing!
Love to see another person more recently enjoying the show too, I'm all caught up and I was sad for not having anymore episodes... Until I realized I can rewatch it all over again😂😂
Just think, both Greg with his potion making and Bodger with his ability to work on magic weapons are (for now at least) higher level magic users than the ex-High Sorcerer Baradun. Nice day for spell-castin', ain't it? Huh ha. (And Baelin is a masterclass warrior monk who wanders the land helping people in need. He's spreading enlightenment by reminding everyone that it's ok to take a step back from work and worry by reminding them that (three guesses) yep, "It's a nice day for fishin', ain't it? huh ha.")
Not sure why it's taken this long but here I am bingeing this series and by episode 4 I'm dying laughing. Setting this in the Epic NPC man universe was a pure gold move.
Rowan deserved it more than 'a little bit'. I'm here shaking my head going 'Dude don't F with the DM' LOL Rob is straight up awesome at being a DM and great actor to boot!
This episode was absolute gold! Greg role-playing tavern, Bob getting ignored as he unloads his backstory, Bodger playing piano, and Bodger turning into manager Rowan near the end 😂😂😂
man this group got some great on screen charisma. cant wait to see the next ep, fav line so far, "this frog right here. i attack it." all calm like haha
The part from 6:49 with the deny of split party and creating the tavern was just masterfully executed. The way you handle it and manage to incorporate all their shenanigans into a "serious" world is amazing.
Ben is channeling Hamish in the bar. The trying to get Greg's attention reminds me of the "Attacked During a Cutscene" skit with Hamish, Alan (Greg) and Adam. And I love that because it reminds me of the fruit salesman arc which is so funny. Especially since the Golden Skull of Rauhl was mentioned last episode.
I'd just like to thank you for the consistent uploads, even though you don't receive as many views as your other channel, you keep it going for us to enjoy.
You know, actually if you think of the concept of epic NPC man, it makes sense that Greg and Bodger tried to go back to their shops. Leaving and going on an adventure breaks from their programming, so they’re first reaction is to follow their programming, until they get pushed out of it.
Very enjoyable. Rob is definitely lassoing them in to keep the story moving while allowing them freedom to be their characters. I think he's learning from the past two campaign's how a gnats fart can send Rowan and gang off on a time eating (albeit hilarious) rabbit hole. Keep up the good work. I waited all day to watch this and was not disappointed! 👍👍

@@shalkonon013 don't get me wrong. I love the way they edited these videos and would watch a 4 hour episode if they maintain the quality. In this 30 minutes bits all they speak is game based. My comment was more about some critical role episodes that i personally felt kinda slow
They do have longer form videos on this channel from when they started it up. But given that this series cuts in several live reenactments of scenes, it takes a lot more production to produce one, which could be the at least part of the reason for the shorter run time.
Everyone's already said it, but it's worth saying again. Rob is a fantastic DM. While the guys are entertaining, Rob's storytelling and ability to wrangle them while still letting them go off on tangents is what really makes these enjoyable to watch

At 10:20, Rowan and Alan look like two hecklers at a bar that always show up at night and sit in the same spot. If they aren't chatting with each other, they are trying to get a rise out of someone. Their posture just fits the scene so well and they probably didnt even know they were doing it! Add about 30 years to both of them and it would be a perfect humor and backstory ice breaker scene.
Wow! Thanks guys for the first time in 2021 I laughed so hard I went through tissues. I'm subscribing for that alone. Been wanting to get back into D&D and ran across this series while brushing up. The fact that bullywogs would straight body our adventures in this situation (outnumbering them and having the advantage of being in a swamp), yet the wolves drove the bullywogs out of their old lands makes me think the adventures are going to get completely wrecked by the wolves.

Love the way you guys are doing it a bit of cosplay mixed in for added immersion. Keep up the great work and thanks again.
@@sheilamartin880Cool! I'll go check that out. Thank you!
These eps are getting funnier. First Bodger with the "respect" then the tavern segment hahahah nearly had me rolling with laughter
Greg and Bodger bonding was pretty wholesome ngl 🥰 Also props to Rob for keeping these scatty nerds in check, looks harder than herding cats.
You guys. This shit is so hilarious. Thank you. Been a huge fan for years but this new series is real great.
I love the use of physical comedy! Also, the "budget" production is so charming, to be honest don't change anything!
I've been smiling the whole video. Thank you guys.
Watching this series makes me want to learn and play DnD
To quote the wise and enlightened Sir Shia LeBouf.... "DO IT!!!"
God damn it! It’s so funny and entertaining 🤣🤣 it is better than many comedy movies. U guys are most underrated you tubers in the entire world. Never seen such a entertaining board game😂😂🤣
Greg and Bodger are literally the best when their together and being wholesome and close despite their usual hating eachother.
You guys have been so awesome to watch. I went back and watched all of your earlier episodes and runs. They gave me the final push needed to look into playing finally! I can't wait for the next episode!
Love the content guys, the cut-aways add a lot to the play through!
The improv is a lot of fun. Great job. I look forward to more
This is by far your best content ever! Love it! And huge props to the DM!
I am sitting here laughing like mad, tears running down my face, so ridiculously glad I found this channel and these guys. Thanks, fellas. You're amazing!
You guys are just brilliant! Have me in stitches laughing. Really love the little sketches in between too.
Ben screaming "manly love!!" while tryna strip off his armor made me lose my shit!!
Don't know what the rest of the guys are drinking, but Bob is definitely on the punch.
Great Episode Guys, the series is getting better and better, laughted all the way through it... keep it up...👍
Hi! New subscriber here, but I am a long-time fan of the VLDL. I'm super enjoying these videos and I'm excited to watch the plot unfolds in the succeeding episodes. Thank you so much for the laughs and entertainment guys ❤️
You guys had me laughing so hard! I just love when you all get off track and distracted.
LETS GOOOOOO, this series is brilliant
I love that this episode was essentially all about them refusing to carry on
I’m glad I get to binge these. Great accents it makes these so good
Wow they are actually in that room? I thought it was green screened in, but Rowan walking back to the doors seems to proove otherwise.
20:00 Bodger, you can't just run away! You're the manager!
"As the old saying goes, garlic and fish is fucking awesome."
I died. 💀
Absolutely the best one yet! Love it. The bodger "bored" moment had be rolling! 🤣🤣🤣
LOL the false choice of fighting the frogs or the wolves who drove the frogs off.
The fact that bullywogs would straight body our adventures in this situation (outnumbering them and having the advantage of being in a swamp), yet the wolves drove the bullywogs out of their old lands makes me think the adventures are going to get completely wrecked by the wolves.
Pretty funny that bodger walked by a few helmets when he was looking for the squires helmet. It is one behind him and Gregg..
I almost choked on a Trolli Sour Brite gummi worm laughing about the third "punch you in the face" attempt have sat here binge watching this series instead of playing the new PUBG update.... You guys are awesome!
Wow, I really like how they had to force the characters to go on the journey.
"The two of you decide to head back to Honeywood as well because I am not doing two different parties" damn straight!! Go, Rob! I've refused that before, as well
