May not have anything to do with the games, but it expands on the dynamic shared between Blaze and Sonic.

The Blaze fight was one of my favourite parts of Sonic Rush! I always had a soft spot for main character battles, it's so cool to see your playable characters in a different perspective.

The Johnny races were poorly implemented, marine was basically written to be annoying (even if I don’t hate or even dislike her personally I won’t dispute how annoying she CAN be), and .... okay imma be real I don’t agree with people hating the material system if only because the hidden islands make it an almost a non existent problem and the game is straight up based around sea traveled and called “adventure” your basically encouraged to go sailing around to find these. Tangent aside, it’s not perfect but they’re nice and interesting at least conceptually.
Blaze was a great addition to the series. Great design, abilities, personality and the fact that she is the first female character to have a Super Form in the form of Burning Blaze with the Sol Emeralds. And I liked that she was from a different dimension. 06 kinda ruined that by having her in the future, not knowing who Sonic was and reducing Blaze to nothing more than a sidekick and annoying ship to Silver.
Sonic Rush is pretty much my first Sonic game. I LOVE Blaze the Cat; that's why it's a masterpiece! I didn't know it has a sequel until years later; I'd like to try it one day. Blaze needs to make a return as a playable character; she is so cool and adorable.
Sonic the Hedgehog 0 was a pretty good prequel game, though. Made a great entry point in the series, though it builds up Blaze a lil too much when she never comes back in a playable form aside from Sonic the Hedgehog: Dead Souls, but does that really count?

Am I the only one whose headcanon was that Water Palace Zone takes place somewhere near Windmill Isle Zone? I mean, the ocean in the background, the white æsthetic of the tilesets and the slight nature elements make it seem like an underwater version of that stage.

Sonic and Tails had their autonomy taken away by this overzealous raccoon girl who insists she's the boss. They're just too nice to tell her to stop. Her biggest contributions to the story were showing Tails the rough idea of how the Materials worked AND that sucker punch to the Egg Wizard.
i still wish she was in more pieces of media tho. having team sonic, dark, chaotix, and rose and then just having blaze and silver without a third teammate is kind of a let down for me.

I love Sonic Rush, but Adventure...it may be the best Sonic game ever. All the stages are super fun. I loved the water stages (wish that Waterbike was longer). The music was just as good as Rush, but I think Rush was a tad bit better. I liked the story. Marine never annoyed me. (I live with a 10-year old sister. I KNOW WHAT ANNOYING IS) Multiplayer was even better. All the missions were just like Sonic Adventure 2. The Sol emeralds were much better to find. Special stages are one of the best in the series. Replaying the levels never bothered me, as I was always going to get a S-rank on all of them one day. It is perfect...except that you have to MANUALLY SAVE. 9.5/10
Also, you're quite stupid for NOT seeing the empty box in Game Land at the bottom right. IT'S RIGHT THERE!!! I laughed when you said you had to google it. I beat it the true final boss when I was ten years old.
THANK YOU this video made me replay rush adventure, which led to me buying colours ds and discovering i already own rush, and now these 3 games are some of my favourite ds games and easily my 3 favourite sonic games

Johnny should've been named Stream. Rush Adventure is a water based game, so Stream fits perfectly. It also would've been a great name for a dimentional counterpart to Jet because a jet stream is a real thing.

Sonic Rush was one of my first DS games ever and I was never thay good at it but I felt so rewarded when I beat it as a 8 year old and I still have a lot of nostalgia for it. The music was my favorite part. I also played the sequel and loved it too QOTD: my favorite level was Night Carnival

This was a game I enjoyed when I was a toddler trying out my first console to pre-school and till the early stage of secondary(Uk school age 11) I lost my DSI and that was the last time I had the game. I’m now 18 in my second year of college and I loved it.
Sonic Rush Adventure was my first video game (skipped Rush) and I remember that there was a bug at a certain point when plotting the journey to an island. Forget the specifics, but I think it got triggered if you accidentally discover one island before the next one you're supposed to go to, it bugs out and won't let you unlock that island, but also locks you in so that you can't progress. Was stuck for forever until I reset the game from start.
if i remember correctly this was my first 2D sonic title so i do have fond memories of it. The music has to be it’s best part tho for me. It introduced me to jet set.
Its funny you mention the vehicle sections in rush adventure The only one I didnt really like was the submarine levels cuz it didnt always register my stylus taps when I would hit objects I also didnt mind marine too much as I understood she was a child wanting to explore. The only complaint Id really have is the sol emerald missions. Like you said, the things you had to go through to get all 7 sol emeralds was annoying at times
In terms of favourite rush level water palace easily wins for me back 2 back is a banger and even if the dimps pits make their appearance I’ll still come back to this level from time to time there was a reason it was picked for gens after all.
Rush Adventure was the first game I independently played in my entire life, and it’s always been my favourite Sonic game. I can name every song off the soundtrack because imo they’re BANGERS. Haunted Ship, Blizzard Peaks and Sky Babylon OH MY GOD. THE BOSS THEME? I LOVE
I've only heard ONE song from the game (ok that's a lie, I think I also listened to Deep Core but didn't find it memorable) and that's Big Swell. Holy shit Big Swell. I heard it in whoisthisgit's video on "cool boss deaths" (episode 8 if wanna watch) and it could NOT have been a better first impression.
Kind of funny how you had trouble with the 7th Emerald in Colors DS. I remember I figured that out on my own, based on the little Emerald outlines on the planet select menu
man, people need to praise the rush adventure ost more, what this guy felt about the rush adventure ost i felt about the original rush ost, i don't know how to describe it, but, the original rush ost doesn't feel as epic and upbeat to me, but there is a few bangers here and there, the leafstorm music, metal scracthing, back 2 back and wrapped in black are my favorites, but i still prefer the rush adventure ost, they have less "lyrics" wich makes them fit more with the environment, sky babylon, blizzard peaks and haunted ship are my favorite (honorable mention to coral cave) and man, the final boss music is E P I C (refering to the big swell not the egg wizard) it's so intense and it really makes you feel like "this is it, the final challenge, i can't fail now!" and... i failed like a thousand times when i was a child, but when i finally beated it i felt like that geometry dash streamer who cried after beating a super hard level (it was nepesta i think)
MY FAVORITE STAGE WAS THE PIRATE BOSS!! Jesus, I remember nothing about this game except the phenomenal Music choices, Marine the Racoon, and the fucking pirate boss. That! Was! A! Rush! Edit: I also suddenly remembered the Boss fight against the other character. Heavenly.
4:35 tip, you can use rails as well to trick on for recharging your bar and the rails are a recharge source that never runs out. I know where you can easily do it which would be zone 5 and 7
As a person who 100% all those games I have to say you have done a fantastic job at explaining what happens in the game while also making it sound as interesting as it is and back-to-back is the most kicking track sonic team has ever made next to Shadows I Am All of Me. 😁👍🏿👏🏿 it was a wonderful surprise to have Sonic Rush play so good and be designed so well. I personally preferred Blaze over Sonic because her mechanics were just a cooler to me and yes please is slower than Sonic.
Funny thing is when I played rush adventure I didn't even know you could upgrade your jetski until I finished the entire game (other than the last boss) and by that point I already got every single chaos emerald with the base form jetski so I guess I'm advanced or something
I get it, "Everyone loves the Rush games.", and sure it's a little obscure with it being on a handheld and Sonic has usually been a console game, but I feel like when people discuss about good Sonic games, the Rush games are always get left out and get overshadowed by the magnificence of Unleashed or Adventure 2. Sonic Rush is a fantastic game with one of the best OSTs of any game I've ever played - definitely on my top 10. The levels are great, you can zoom through zones if you're good enough with the boost meter, Blaze has one of the best designs of any Sonic chracter to date and there is so just so much missing potential there, its really unfortunate. This video covers it all. It's not a story telling masterpiece, it's just fun. There's no fru fru, there's no big story, there's not an annoying little message about friendship or whatever (or at least it's not that annoying), it is just a grade A-go fast as fuck-fun ass Sonic game, and I think that's pretty cool.

Johnny should've been named Stream. Rush Adventure is a water based game, so Stream fits perfectly. It also would've been a great name for a dimentional counterpart to Jet because a jet stream is a real thing.
I'm glad Rush is getting some recognition! It would be excellent to see a video on Sonic Chronicles on the DS too (provided you haven't done one already, I'm fairly new to your channel)
why does sega have such a bad habit of introducing a character, making us fall in love with their development and personality, and then completely rip out they're souls, either they become a sports character, get completely erased as a character, or just become a background character forever
As someone who's first game was sonic rush and loving colours ds when i got it I'm glad to see the trilogy get some love so thanks also this video is why I picked up rush adventure and I'm enjoying it.

Sonic Rush was one of my first DS games ever and I was never thay good at it but I felt so rewarded when I beat it as a 8 year old and I still have a lot of nostalgia for it. The music was my favorite part. I also played the sequel and loved it too

Dude Sonic Rush Adventure is my Baby, my precious Treasure! To hell with Minecraft and GTA. THIS is the one game I would choose to take with me on an abandoned island. I love it to bits. I love the entire OST and got half of the Level tracks in my Playlist Playlist💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
The level design could use some tweaks, but overall they are a pretty decent fun on that long family/work trip.
I want to thank you for making this video. I want people to talk about Rush. This was a game I enjoyed when I was a toddler trying out my first console to pre-school and till the early stage of secondary(Uk school age 11) I lost my DSI and that was the last time I had the game.

the sonic rush games were my first sonic games, and they still hold up really well!
Sonic Rush Adventure was my first video game (skipped Rush) and I remember that there was a bug at a certain point when plotting the journey to an island. Forget the specifics, but I think it got triggered if you accidentally discover one island before the next one you're supposed to go to, it bugs out and won't let you unlock that island, but also locks you in so that you can't progress. Was stuck for forever until I reset the game from start.
if i remember correctly this was my first 2D sonic title so i do have fond memories of it. The music has to be it’s best part tho for me. It introduced me to jet set.

The only one I didnt really like was the submarine levels cuz it didnt always register my stylus taps when I would hit objects
I also didnt mind marine too much as I understood she was a child wanting to explore. The only complaint Id really have is the sol emerald missions. Like you said, the things you had to go through to get all 7 sol emeralds was annoying at times

In terms of favourite rush level water palace easily wins for me back 2 back is a banger and even if the dimps pits make their appearance I’ll still come back to this level from time to time there was a reason it was picked for gens after all.
Rush Adventure was the first game I independently played in my entire life, and it’s always been my favourite Sonic game. I can name every song off the soundtrack because imo they’re BANGERS. Haunted Ship, Blizzard Peaks and Sky Babylon OH MY GOD. THE BOSS THEME? I LOVE

I've only heard ONE song from the game (ok that's a lie, I think I also listened to Deep Core but didn't find it memorable) and that's Big Swell. Holy shit Big Swell. I heard it in whoisthisgit's video on "cool boss deaths" (episode 8 if wanna watch) and it could NOT have been a better first impression.
Fun fact: marine can swim underwater for a long time because she is a raccoon meaning throwing her in water would do nothing unless she gets eaten.

Kind of funny how you had trouble with the 7th Emerald in Colors DS. I remember I figured that out on my own, based on the little Emerald outlines on the planet select menu
man, people need to praise the rush adventure ost more, what this guy felt about the rush adventure ost i felt about the original rush ost, i don't know how to describe it, but, the original rush ost doesn't feel as epic and upbeat to me, but there is a few bangers here and there, the leafstorm music, metal scracthing, back 2 back and wrapped in black are my favorites, but i still prefer the rush adventure ost, they have less "lyrics" wich makes them fit more with the environment, sky babylon, blizzard peaks and haunted ship are my favorite (honorable mention to coral cave) and man, the final boss music is E P I C (refering to the big swell not the egg wizard) it's so intense and it really makes you feel like "this is it, the final challenge, i can't fail now!" and... i failed like a thousand times when i was a child, but when i finally beated it i felt like that geometry dash streamer who cried after beating a super hard level (it was nepesta i think)

MY FAVORITE STAGE WAS THE PIRATE BOSS!! Jesus, I remember nothing about this game except the phenomenal Music choices, Marine the Racoon, and the fucking pirate boss. That! Was! A! Rush!

4:35 tip, you can use rails as well to trick on for recharging your bar and the rails are a recharge source that never runs out. I know where you can easily do it which would be zone 5 and 7
As a person who 100% all those games I have to say you have done a fantastic job at explaining what happens in the game while also making it sound as interesting as it is and back-to-back is the most kicking track sonic team has ever made next to Shadows I Am All of Me. 😁👍🏿👏🏿 it was a wonderful surprise to have Sonic Rush play so good and be designed so well. I personally preferred Blaze over Sonic because her mechanics were just a cooler to me and yes please is slower than Sonic.

I get it, "Everyone loves the Rush games.", and sure it's a little obscure with it being on a handheld and Sonic has usually been a console game, but I feel like when people discuss about good Sonic games, the Rush games are always get left out and get overshadowed by the magnificence of Unleashed or Adventure 2. Sonic Rush is a fantastic game with one of the best OSTs of any game I've ever played - definitely on my top 10. The levels are great, you can zoom through zones if you're good enough with the boost meter, Blaze has one of the best designs of any Sonic chracter to date and there is so just so much missing potential there, its really unfortunate. This video covers it all. It's not a story telling masterpiece, it's just fun. There's no fru fru, there's no big story, there's not an annoying little message about friendship or whatever (or at least it's not that annoying), it is just a grade A-go fast as fuck-fun ass Sonic game, and I think that's pretty cool.

I would've loved the team fight more of the game you play with Sonic and Blaze swapping between the two on screen against Johnny and Whiskers. Kinda like a Smash Brawl thing💯💯. Other than that and the TEDIOUS Sol Emerald missions I LOVED THIS GAME😎😎
