Fascinating how humans are compelled to build a bigger nest for themselves than they could ever need. It's all about status, vanity, and showing the world what a 'winner' you are. No-one needs more than a few rooms for sleeping, cooking, relaxing etc. Everything else is a vanity project.
It's called Bettering yourself, the human quest to strive for a better life and way of living; without it, we all would still be living in Caves and cooking the most recent catch over an open fire when we move on and improve the way of life there is going to be those who achieve what many would think wasteful. Still, it's only a step farther than the majority. Without those people, no one would try to do better because we would have no standards to go by. It may seem overkill to some, but it is only a form of advancement, and as seen here, a very hard advancement to sustain, as shown with the bankruptcy of the former owner. There are many who do not wish to just exist but to excel.
@@robertehring2085 If you want to better yourself then I would suggest reading, socialising, philanthropy, engineering,or physical fitness etc. would be the way to do it. I realise it is man's instinct to dominate, and to seek validation from the wider group. These are animal urges that are hard to resist. They drive people to build little empires and create conspicuous displays of wealth. There is nothing very advanced about it. The instincts can be resisted with some clarity and self-restraint. I stand by my point that beyond a certain point large houses are nothing more than externalised ego. Ireland and the UK are full of such monuments to ego. They are a constant financial drain on the descendants, with 6 figure annual heating and maintenance costs. A never-ending drain on resources. It seems that in the US wood is more often used than stone, so at least they fall beyond repair over there quite quickly.
Crazy to see this over here just empty. That Porsche 997 Carrera Cab would be worth a fair few quid in good condition... What a shame. Both are around 2007/8 so I wonder how long they sat there for. Shame about vandalism, some people are the worst. Well done guys! What a beautifully build house not sure if north or south but would have cost a fortune to build! :-)
Low mileage and well maintained ones only go for around 35k, with high mileage ones going for aboout 20k. That one in that state would probably only fetch 10-15k I'd imagine. No history, no maintenance and sat for years, even 10k would represent be a huge gamble on it!
Certainly a huge building - would be nice to see how it looked originally before being divided into two mansions! Some nice features and pieces left behind, though not sure why the cars were left outside - surely there was room in a barn for them. That poor Porsche - very sad - it definitely needs rescuing! Great video 👍
@@VacantHaven Given the age of the vehicle is 2007 -- you didn't blur it at the beginning -- I'm guessing they either died suddenly or ran away due to the 2008 financial crash.
Its a confusing design that's for sure. The old ceiling lathes suggest its not a recent house, could be an old house that has been modified a great deal. I feel sorry for the person who cleaned all those windows. Those birds flying past sounded like ring necked parakeets. A very interesting tour gentlemen.👍
It's not very old, you can tell from the brickwork. The owners wanted to make it look old and had those features put in - you can buy them from reclamation yards. The house itself is pretending to be Jacobean but it certainly is not.
Wow very amazing. There was millionare who went bankrupt in a town near me way back in the late 80's Home was in the mountains worth 10's of millions of dollars and was very beautiful. The bank that owned the property paid a care taker to live in the property in one of the guest homes on the property for more than 10 years to take care of the home and property until they were able to sell the property to another millionare. Sad this property couldn't of been kept in good condition until someone else could buy it.

It was still under construction. Something happened to halt it. Divorce is often behind such properties. Sometimes the parties die before the issue is resolved. If the relatives live in another country, it could sit until it rots away.
I know of a families here in the states that were very wealthy. They had a falling out with the US tax service and left an immense house, full of furniture, clothing, etc and fled the country to evade paying. The house was just one of about seven they owned all over the owrld. I don't know how much they owed but the house was about as large as the one in this video and it was cheaper to just leave with all the stuff then to pay what was owed! Amazing how much money the top 1% have!

You guys are very respectful in what u do good job
I'm afraid we come across vandalism all too often, a real shame!
I love 😂❤ in the beginning he touched the knife, your like don’t touch it. He touches it.
I really cannot fathom the lay-out of this place, no idea what they were trying to achieve, all those small, oddly shaped rooms created from larger original ones. Seems to me they just made a massive bodge, then it got vandalised, then they abandoned it. But why would you leave a Porsche and all those antiques? Great explore though, as yours always are.❤
When your ex special forces security team says,…get out let’s go,.. we can sort the rest out when we get to safety in another country,… COS IF YOU END UP IN A WODDEN BOX EVERYTHING ELSE OUTSIDE THAT BOX BECOMES IRRELEVANT,.. REGARDLESS HOW NICE AND EXPENSIVE IT IS…..!! smart people believe,..
it seems they faced legal issue with ownership .
The idea of having your own house is great. I bet though it costs too much qnd the government ruined them
Great find, thanks for bringing this to us. I had a bit of a dig online and the previous owner had links to USA and churchy things, which was my inkling with a couple of things you came across. I wish there was more history info about this place.
You're welcome!
It was very hard to find any concrete info in the place, as most of the plans the client end listed as confidential!
But thanks for the info 👍

The last MOT only questioned a couple of tyres - I think that cracked windscreen would fail now though ...

Abandoned place's are so fascinating yet horrifying at the same time. Horrifying because of it's unknown nature and the dark hallways where someone or something is lurking, and fascinating as you want to find out what it was like there, and it's history

‘Horrifying because of it’s unknown nature’
A house that a family once lived in? Or am I missing something?
Bet it looked really grand once in all its splendour. It had some lovely big rooms and good features. Enjoyed that thanks Alex and Ed xx
I'm always amazed how well Ed maneuvers around some of the sketchy surfaces you guys encounter.
New to your channel but I’m enjoying this. Ed’s enthusiasm is great!
This is a gorgeous location. Ancient too going by those chimneys! Cant wait for this!!
Mind boggling how big this place was!
Hope you enjoy Nanny!
No it's reproduction
Yeah, going by the brickwork style, probably not that old.
My guess would be 1950s.
It was so fun watching you explore this amazing place, and you were both so respectful. I think it would make a great hotel 🎉
Do ye ever look up the history of the buildings? Like who use to live there and how they ended up abandoned?
I too hope someone restores that beautiful home. Those chimneys are fantastic.
Heart breaking to see such a beautiful house just left to rot
Watch out for snakes there.
Wow that binder was very telling and in that secret room makes it even more sus
I can imagine how beautiful that home was back in the day ❤ it's really sad to see such beauty rot away 😢
Ugly reconstructed in the 1980 days, should have left it original.
The big guy must be poor, easy impressed bij the mention.
Why post it ? What is it ?
I remember parking my Porche but I just can't remember where 🤷♂️ now I know, thanks guys 👍
I don't know how anyone can leave these homes behind. I don't have a place to live and it is a shame.
Same here. Then I watch horror channels and I can't even sleep in a place like this because of the paranormal lol
Very entertaining explore ... such a grand property its so sad that people can not go there without leaving graffiti and causing damage ... you guys have respect for the place ... don't know how you didn't get lost in there ... really enjoyed the video & subbed.
And that cane….. WOW!!! That was such a beautiful piece. That cane set needs to be auctioned off so that they can be enjoyed and seen by people. Such a travesty that stuff is just sitting in that garage collecting dust.
The mini was last MOT'd in 2018 with just 37,000 miles on the clock.
How do u know this?
@@jasonryan7060 worked out the reg plate from a section of the video that wasn't pixelated.
Surely it hasn't got to this level of ruin in 5 years, has it?
Further digging says log book was issued in Feb 19 also. So it probably has got like that in such a short period of time. Wow.
I 100% thought this would've been financial crash era 2007-12 ish
@@stugil1986 left unloved and accessible to vandals, it could go like this so quickly. Still could easily be rescued and would be a very worthwhile project considering the mileage. Hopefully whoever owns the cars will see sense and sell them before they go too far.
original property 1930's IMO - cavity brickwork - timber underlay to roof tiles - much later extended and updated
Thats an awesome find but kind of sad at the same time. I bet that place was amazing when it had people living in it. Shame vandals have trashed it though, That Mirror on the dirty door that was super clean on the other side wa strange, Looks like some one been in there recently.
Not a stick of furniture left in the old place.
''Abandoned'', my precious heiny!!! If someone were to move in and renovate it, I guarantee... the owners would be down at the front door demanding full return of the keys within a heartbeat!!
Great video and second time i have seen this place, but he did not get in the garage and said at least 5 people had tried to apply for the v5 for the porsche. But if he has gone bankcrupt then the banks own it all and slow to sell on. Shame it has been left to be trashed. Hope the house and cars get saved. Keep up the great work guys.
Mark, that’s very accurate information regarding the cars. do you have a link to this video? Or do you mean second time you have seen this place as in …. You have been?
The lot was shocking just to be left to rot good explore again guys
Yup, shame they beat us to it, would have been really quirky back in the day!
Cheers for watching Peter 👍
Wow. This is a huge house. Look forward to see what you find. Maybe a snooker table?
You never cease to amaze guys. Love seeing your finds.
Thanks for watching Sharon 😁👍
Hello Sharon how are you doing today
wow another amazing video alex really enjoyed this, thanks for sharing what an amazing place such a shame its another abandoned just sat rotting away, brilliant explore, and love it when yr with eddie xx
I would have to nick that walking stick...before someone else did. Those paintings could be worth a fortune shame they're left to rot.
@@skaterjacksHuge gamble with rads, IMS bearing, clutch etc plus Porsches don’t like being idle. Such a shame!
That bbc bridge you found was an old game console for playing the card game bridge
It's still got a real 80s vibe, so I'd imagine ot was quite funky in its hey day!
Glad you enjoyed the tour Trish 😁👍
@@VacantHaven Given the age of the vehicle is 2007 -- you didn't blur it at the beginning -- I'm guessing they either died suddenly or ran away due to the 2008 financial crash.

@@KeithChegwin24 I got the full reg. The minis mot expired in Feb 2019. The house has surety been abandoned for longer than 4 years though, weird.
what a great find ,you guys are so respectful, keep the videos coming...
@@Wally-H yeah gangster Kenneth Noye had similar style house
Wow very amazing. There was millionare who went bankrupt in a town near me way back in the late 80's Home was in the mountains worth 10's of millions of dollars and was very beautiful. The bank that owned the property paid a care taker to live in the property in one of the guest homes on the property for more than 10 years to take care of the home and property until they were able to sell the property to another millionare. Sad this property couldn't of been kept in good condition until someone else could buy it.
This was a really cool explore what a huge house. Thanks for taking us with you much love to you both❤😊
You're welcome Natalie 👍
I can't believe all those pictures/paintings have survived vandalism! It is such a shame seeing such a structure is completely deteriorating going to waste!
If you guys would do some research about the properties that you explore it would take them to another level … watching these with no information is like eating junk food without any calories …. WHO were the last owners what was their profession why did they leave the property….. without giving names … this looks like there is or was renovations going on …. Was this one whole house or was it separate / ie when went outside and into what looked like it may have been a duplex
I think thats crossing a line you cant go naming individuals on youtube and speculate about them 🙂
NO NEED TO NAME THEM.
Read their post again. It said without giving names. @@jukeboxjohnnie
Incredible house. Looks like an original Edward Lutyens designed house crying out to be restored.
Would love to know the history of the place and why it was abandoned.
I'd say the owners sold it to developers, who were then refused planning permission for loads of houses.
@@dazzab111 It's unlikely they sold their vehicles to developers and all their belongings.

They’re not gonna give out any details because that might give away clues to the location of the house which will result in people going there and nicking stuff.

I realize not everything is interested in everything small, but I have noticed several items you skimmed right over that would have been interesting to look over. It's a shame it is sad that it is so hot. Beautiful manor, I wish it was possible to be able to see what it looked like in its day. Thank you both for showing us this wonderful estate, Blessings to you guys, and stay safe. 🙂
Cheers for watching Carol, I'd be interested in the bits we skimmed over as it would help for future explores.
Popcorn and beer waiting for it.
Significant mold, mold can be quite dangerous, may need to be completely gutted to a bare shell to be made safe again. Maybe wear a mask next time to be cautious.
Thank you for the background information included. Your explores are somewhat refreshing! I watch a lot of other explorers too, but they are mostly in Canada and the USA. Also, a few do Europe and Japan. Bros of Decay have hit some places in Britain. I usually don't watch explores that are longer than 30 minutes or ones which show nasty unflushed toilets or dead animals. I am very much a "snoop" but don't like extensive vandalism. Good job so far guys!😅
Thanks for checking out the video Jean.
We've got plenty of beautiful English mansions and manor houses to look through on the channel, hope you enjoy them!
I don’t think this house is as old as you think, neither are all the fixture and fittings .

What’s the guide price?
Lovely Moroccan Tile in that kitchen you were admiring!
Bet that Porsche disappears soon unfortunately.
Seems like a weird mishmash of lime lines. Built in the forties with very random things updated in the early 90’s . Someone went through a lot of trouble to neatly run exposed wire to temporary lights in every single room and abandoned cars from the 2000’s although it seems like it was abandoned long before that.
