I thought I wasn't going to crack this one.... but I did ;) Believed to have been built in the 14th Century. The cellar of the house was used for religious services at the time of the Reformation 1517-1555 ( or even to 1648 some sources say). It once had over 300 acres of land but it's been sold off piece meal over the years to just over 50. The last owners purchased it for £171,000 in 1985, when it was up for sale in 2020 they wanted £2.5 million. The last owners aren't dead unless they died very, very recently and they lived and worked there. Looking at photo's from the 1950's it looks as if the wall with the large chimney breast had to be more or less rebuilt in 1986. In various adverts for sales of livestock between the 1860's- 1900's it appears that shorthorn cattle and Southdown sheep were mainly kept. It still didn't have electricity in 1955. Wow that place is gorgeous ❤️, I saw on tv the other day that many properties are left to charities etc when the owners die and then the properties are just left to rot and I think that what’s happened to a majority of the places you visit which is so sad .
I think also some of them are in legal disputes with siblings etc about who gets the house. Or it could just be that an elderly parent dies perhaps in his or her 90s and leaves the property to children in their 70s who have health problems etc themselves and just can't cope with it.
Thankyou Alex and Ned, Another top explore, It's a shame its all left to rot. All that old structural rotting wood it will not last much longer if not sorted soon.
