I was visiting my mom many years ago and couldn't understand why she was angry with me. Mom: "Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant??" Me: "What? I'm not" Mom: "Don't play dumb, you're 3 months along" Me: "What are you talking about? I'm not pregnant!!" Went to the doctor and I was 3 months pregnant.. Now THAT was a pregnancy announcement I won't ever forget. lol

my mom looked at me with my last one and said are you pregnant it was my birthday I'm like no .... threw up a week later just chalked it up to the fact I had been up all night and was on the heat driving around.... found out 2 weeks later on valentines day I was in fact pregnant so when she asked me I did the math would have been when the baby implanted....

I was still living at home when I told my parents I was pregnant. My dad said he knew it! (I was lucky enough to live in a household where dad did the weekly shop and considered it his duty to keep our sanitary products stocked up as well as items in the pantry - he noticed he wasn't having to purchase them as often 😂)
The bit about when Tex learned friends named their baby after him struck my heart. In my 20s, single, I hosted a 17yo girl from France. I never figured I wanted kids, but wanted to host, foster or adopt. I'm 56 now and never did have kids. She visited me many times in Canada after that, attending my wedding and travelling for visits where I live now in Mexico. Finally, last summer, I visited her in France. She has a daughter named, "Lana,". I broke down in tears, overcome with emotion when she confirmed that she'd named Lana after me. I was totally overcome, sobbing and heaving. Like Toni, but x 10. It was the most loving emotional experience I ever had. I thought my lifetime would go unnoticed and evaporate into the ether when I died. Little things you do make big impacts.
We all have an impact on our surroundings. We should always be conscious about that. Nothing that we do remains unnoticed so we should use our influence wisely. Congrats to your namesake!

Oh you most definitely made loads of impact and would not go unnoticed. You sound like such a kind hearted and caring person, which would be why she stayed in touch with you and then named her child after you. And as I’m sure you treated her like you treat others, there would be so many others who appreciated the gift of your companionship and kindness.

How old was the baby when you met her?
My sister did the same, now 10 years later I still cry when I think about it. She did the most beautiful thing ever and I'm so proud of my strong quirky niece 😍

My best friend turned up one day after registering her baby daughters name, she said im gonna show this but i dont want you to get emotional, she had used my name for her daughters middle name, her baby had been poorly after she was born and i had helped out as you do when you love someone and it was her way of thanking me, of course i cried, she wasnt impressed lol. It was a massive honour and the baby is now 21 and we are in all sense of the word family. 😊😊😊

One of my gym teachers in middle school announced to us that she was pregnant and that she was gonna work up until it was close to her due date. We of course congratulated her and when we walked away and knew we were out of ear shot from her, we immediately started talking about it and one of my friends goes “Mrs. [insert gym teacher’s last name here] and her husband been FUCKIN” 😂😂 perfectly in sync, the rest of us fell out laughing
While Tony was crying from being so sweet, I was crying from laughter at her crying 😂😂😂

The day we planned to tell my grandparents I was pregnant, I bumped into my grandmother in the morning and she was telling me how she was planning on getting rid of all her toys because she doesn't have any grandchildren who are young enough to play with them. Fast forward a few hours and I told her that she doesn't need to throw out her toys because soon there will be someone to play with them. It took her a couple of minutes, but my then-92-year-old grandfather practically jumped out of his chair and said "really? No way! I'm going to be a great-grandfather!!" And then my grandmother finally understood :)
My daughter loves to play with the toys at her house!

I've always thought it's weird to "gift" someone your used pregnancy test. Like, you're literally handing them dried up piss on a stick.
And to not tell him what it was when he started putting the non-piss end in his mouth, and then letting him continue until he took the cap off and put the piss end in his mouth.
He has some responsibility for being a grown-ass man and not knowing what a pregnancy test looks like, but ffs, how can you let your dad put your piss stick in his mouth?!
Never had to use one, so maybe I'm ignorant here, but can you not wash it after getting the positive result, thereby solving the 'giving people piss on a stick' issue...or does the piss need to stay on the stick for it to continue reading as 'pregnant'?
@@maiamystiaJust because the color changes after the first use, doesn't mean it's reusable. 🤦♀️ Pregnancy tests are just a strip of paper that goes through a chemical reaction when exposed to pregnancy hormones in urine. If you misuse it, the strip may change in how it appears but how would you know that it's accurate now that you've exposed it to another chemical?
@@alyj6398 it's basically like a piece of absorbent paper/sponge that you saturate with urine. I supoose you could try to rinse the pee off but that won't wash away all it completely, and it may wash out the lines. Can you wash the blood off a bandaid or a sanitary pad? Yeah I guess so but it would take a lot of effort.
Either way it's still a piss stick 😅 just keep it simple, tell people you're pregnant.

He's probably never seen a home pregnancy test before, I think they were invented in the 70s. Have you seen the video of the girl telling her bf she's pregnant and he gets upset bc he thinks she brought him a positive covid test? 🤦♀️
