    Love these packing demos! I really appreciate using the same stuff and putting them in the same box. Really drives home which will work better for a particular use-case. The Cabin Zero is the best if you are trying to get the most onto a strict airline!

      Thanks! Yeah I think they are helpful too. I'm on Reddit Onebag a lot and I get a lot out of the packing example posts.

      I agree, the cabin zero was the best capacity to dimensions ratio. But I just wish it came in another aesthetic…something more feminine. Haha

    One of the best videos on travel bags I have seen. Your box is awesome as a reference. Great details about dimensions of bags in description area. Thank you for making this video!

    I ended up buying the cabin zero because of some of your videos and others. I don't fly much and didn't even know there was a personal item bag I could bring on with my carry-on. I really appreciate you took the time to build that box

    Amazing demo !!!!! ❤This is the best video I've ever seen! You show us all the details we needed. From the comparison of other backpacks how much does it weigh etc. With other TH-camrs I needed to see several different ones to realize it and I still had doubts. thank you so much .!

    Extremely interesting video in order for us to comprehend the game of downsizing a carry on bag.one suggestion though,when you practice the"how it looks on me" section, don't do it in front of a dark font,the black bags don't help much.love the effort,keep up the good work!! greetings from Athens,Greece!

      That's a great suggestion. I'm thinking I should have used a lighter color for my pegboard 🤷‍♂️

    Great video series. I really wish you actually added a 13" laptop + power brick so we could see how much less space would be available for clothes. I think these days, greater than half of people travel with laptops. Especially when you are talking about people who are willing to spend $200 on one of these tiny bags. That group is most certainly going to be toting around a laptop in most instances.

    • @OneBagTravels
      @OneBagTravels  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I concur, packing demo with and without laptop I think would be helpful. My laptop is 5 years old so it's kind of large and not really the size most people would take traveling. When I upgrade I'll probably get a smaller 13" plus a monitor.

    Yes the Cotopaxi has packing cubes but they are not compression so not really a fair comparison. If you used the compression cubes in there I’m sure it would have been able to fit even more. 😋

    Do you feel the ULA dragonfly holds more than the Aer travel pack small? I have the first version of the aer bag and wondering if there’s a big difference between those two

    • @OneBagTravels
      @OneBagTravels  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I imagine it's close, but I bet the Aer TP small holds a little more. I don't have one or I would test it.

    Thank you so much for doing these packing demos! I tried to do them myself, and dang it’s a lot of work! Ok I’m so confused how the Cabin Zero bag has the smallest dimensions but the largest capacity. What??? And not just largest advertised capacity. It clearly looked roomier in your video. Does anyone have insight on this? Also, does the advertised capacity on backpacks include all the pockets or just the main compartment? Thanks!

    • @OneBagTravels
      @OneBagTravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Backpack capacity will forever remain a mystery to us all 😆 They are supposed to fill the bag with plastic beads, and measure the volume of the beads. In theory it should include all the pockets as well as the main compartment. In reality, they don't all do this and companies vary widely in what they list vs the actual capacity. Dimensions and weights aren't even always accurate.
      From my experience Cabin Zero seems to be particularily bad with their listed capacities. Some bags are way smaller than listed, while others seem much larger. This is why I like to do the packing demos, because until you pack two bags with the same gear, you don't really know if the capacity they listed is even close.

    • @sonicali
      @sonicali 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@OneBagTravels Oh…I see... And here I’ve been making a spreadsheet trying to maximize my volume to dimensions ratio based on these capacities 🥲 Thank you for the detailed info!!

    • @OneBagTravels
      @OneBagTravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@sonicali Listed dimensions and volume are a good place to start, you just can't assume they're 100% accurate. My bag table: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xIMBaSlyFbQ7FSU5nKXn8VICaOkASUOR9HaKxRYAheE/edit?usp=sharing

    I have the Osprey Porter 30L w/ a 16' Ultrabook. Will it fit the luggage 🛅 bin if I don't over pack, I'm guessing it can if I squeeze it in. Thought's?

      The width is a little over, but the bag is soft sided I imagine you could make it work if you underpacked it.

    Does the ULA Dragonfly fall into this category? If so how does it compare?

    • @OneBagTravels
      @OneBagTravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a little long in the length, but it will fit as a personal item if not overpacked. I think I should have included it in this demo, I didn't because I was trying to keep the bags within the 18" length limit, and the Dragonfly is 19.5". I love this pack, lightweight, large main compartment, easy to pack, comfortable straps, huge outside pockets, great value for the money.

      Theoretically. Some of the dimensions are slightly over but they all fit in my personal item sizer box (18x14x8).
