Visited it in 2020, just before Covid restrictions. Yes, the atmosphere in that neglected area around the chedhi and the royal mansions below is so peaceful. At the time, there were hairy feral pigs around - quite happy to take pineapple chunks from your hand. Your video has definitely put it on my visit soon list.
Another beautiful island to Relax, One day at a Time, to Heal and Strengthen your Mind ,Body and Spirit!! Thank You for Sharing Richy. My Eyes always Covet the Beautiful Beaches!!
Koh Chang , 45 minutes flight down to Trat then on the ferry every time for me Richie, but we’re all different. In Kuala Lumpur now mate .last night tonight flying back to London tomorrow night 23:30 then the bus home to South Wales , keep the videos coming mate 👍
I’ve always said Koh Chang is my favourite island mate and I’ve been to seven in Thailand. I was really struggling with the illness to make it here to be honest. I couldn’t even vlog it. You know that’s not me💯👍🏻
Wow richy, never heard of the island before, but that's got to be well worth a visit for a week, gonna have to Google how to get there from jomtien. Fantastic vlog mate
Been there twice. I'm amazed you could spend 5 days there and not get bored stiff. 1 tiny town and 1 beach. Few rocky beaches and thats it. Theres too many places that have been left to rot after covid. Did you visit the abandoned hotel ? There is a school on the island. Also a walk to the top of the hill past the Buddhas footprint will get you blowing. I stayed at Charlies bungalows and Belina homes. Basic and cheapish. Love how you get all the place names in a muddle. Koh Srichang and Serichang Instead of Koh Sichang and Siracha. I wouldnt advise anyone to go for longer than 3 days. Also no point in renting a bike. Easy enough to walk around.
Morning, Richy! Fantastic!! You haven't been to an island in a while. Great idea. The beach is so lovely and calm. Looks so clean too. Already a spot for the bucket list in Thailand at a few minutes in. It's great to find a location free from hoardes of westerners. I don't fancy bathing in that bathing bath, though 🤒 That Asdang Bridge Pier looked gorgeous. Very lovely structure.
Morning Greg, it is a lovely island mate. I’ve been wanting to come here for a long time as many of my Thai friends have told me about it. Ha no you definitely wouldn’t want to be in the bathing pools I don’t think they’ve been used in the 21st century🤣
If I hit the drink I know from the past I won’t stop so I steer clear Stuart, same with the girls I give them a wide berth. Keeping busy that’s the secret
@@jdautos3733 it’s rather here and being sensible or back on building site back home, that’s what I think all the time. Being here on holiday you have a totally different mindset Del.
Most enjoyable video Rich. I wasn’t at all superstitious until my trip to Thailand. I had lost my wallet and it contained all my cards, cash and hotel room key card. I was in a total panic and on my search I prayed at a shrine. 10 mins later I discovered my wallet on the pavement with all contents.
excellent, can you comment on the air quality, as BKK would have some bad days, and here looks like more air flow, but with all those freighters in the water ? here in Vancouver they are shut down, but in your area maybe they need the engines on , don't know
Spirt houses usually outside people's houses too make offerings for spirits, they get broken sometimes, some of them spirt houses may probably be for people lost off of the Beach loves the Boro ☮
Ricky I think when they need to get rid of the shrine ,you still need to show respekt,so leave it some where nice, not on a dump ,my thoughts ,great video .
They were dumped there because the owners were convinced there was 'bad spirits' living in them! They are put together so the spirits are 'occupied ' and will not be able to follow the owner back home! Just leave them alone in place as they are considered very 'unlucky'. Ghosts and Thais --just made for each other!
@senianns9522 it’s funny you should say that, I was talking to one of my Thai friends yesterday and I asked why do some people drive without there lights on and he said it’s so bad spirits don’t follow them home. Very superstitious
Lucky to find a quiet place like this. Good to take it easy for a while. Enjoy
It is mate and thanks. New vlog just gone on now mate
Thanks!
Thanks very much Andrew.

It was really nice to go somewhere so peaceful and close to Bangkok. I seen a few of the big hairy pigs while on the island.

It is really relaxing Dave
Hiya Richy, so pleased you are better, take it easy now
Thank you so much Jina, I will do
The dumped Spirit houses is no accident. Traditionally they cannot be thrown away so its quite normal to see many left together
Thanks Martin, learning everyday mate
Nice one ritch
Thanks Michael
I have to admire your commitment to travelling and not drinking beer
I don't know how he does it
If I hit the drink I know from the past I won’t stop so I steer clear Stuart, same with the girls I give them a wide berth. Keeping busy that’s the secret
Keeping busy mate, works wonders for me
no girls or drink sounds like thailand lol

@@ParkinsonRaw Lesson learnt was not to wear trousers with crap pockets lol
Whats the sea quality like there Ritchie is it any good for swimming mate
It is amazing on the other side mate, I wouldn’t be swimming on the Suez Canal side

The air there was great Kelly as there was always that island breeze. I could definitely tell the difference after BKK mate.

Thsts a good point mate, could well be.
Ricky I think when they need to get rid of the shrine ,you still need to show respekt,so leave it some where nice, not on a dump ,my thoughts ,great video .
Thanks Kenn, I see what you mean mate.
Well I understand that they leave them by the road so the spirit s can travel on.
I wonder why all those shrines were dumped on the side of the road like that.
So I’ve been told in the messages mate they’re not dumped but strategically placed and then left. Looks like a dump though nonetheless doesn’t it.
They were dumped there because the owners were convinced there was 'bad spirits' living in them! They are put together so the spirits are 'occupied ' and will not be able to follow the owner back home! Just leave them alone in place as they are considered very 'unlucky'. The 'shrines or spirit houses' are dumped because they were full of bad sprits or bad luck! Hope none of them follow you back Ricky?
I’m not superstitious and also I hope not lol.
No vloggs again richie, hope you ok..
I am thanks mate, there one just come on now Steve.
Richy Parkinson was here 🗿
He certainly was mate💯👍🏻
Thanks!
Thank you very much Jack, as always I really appreciate your support mate.
