Hey jon.i do not own any nitecore flashlights but I do like these 2..but I can't decide which one I want.what made you choose the one you have?which one would be better for flood?
I am a fan of smaller lights than most of those shown here. I especially don’t like the big headed lights. I like the idea of a light that doesn’t bulge out in the pocket and also doesn’t hurt your leg if you are laying down with it in your pocket, like if you were working under a car or under a sink.
Agreed, once you get up to the 18650 lights it is holster time. the edc33 fits well in the nh10 for me. AA size lights fit well in my pocket, the MT2A pro or my weltool T1 protac are thin enough to not be a bother. My surefire tactician still sees some pocket time. it is relatively small with the 16650 battery. But, even that is pushing the comfort limits.
Why doesn't the Nitecore EDC33 offer lower modes for the floodlight? Wasted opportunity. However, it's great to finally see a single-reflector, multi-emitter light for multiple beam profiles. I've been waiting for that for many years.
Rey does great work with ReyLight. He works to make sure product support is top notch. Love his lights. I keep the Wuben L1 in my car as my emergency light and even charge a phone when needed. Magnetic base is useful too.
Been EDCing an olight for a long time. I am liking some of these offers by other companies. That EDC33 is SO CLOSE! I am not huge on the non-removable battery and Id have to replace the clip with an olight, or theMH12, clip (i pocket carry and that loopback on the clip is constantly seeing use as an external hook for keys or temporary clip point). The lack of moonlight mode is rough, but not a dealbreaker. The one big thing that could pull me away from my Warrior3 is the more and more common reverse charging on the huge battery ones. I dont need to carry a powerbank, but having a flashlight with a very large cell in it that can be used for emergency power is something I have wished I had on a couple occasions. The programmable one is interesting, but at that point I would just carry something with Anduril2. It is far more complex, but once you have every minute detail configured to perfection, you never have to mess with it and the interface is about as simple as an olight. lastly...I dont know why it is a thing, but "brightness level" indicators are VERY strange to me. I know when the light is the brightness I need to use at that moment...I cant imagine needing to know if it is level2 or level3 at a glance when I can look forward and go "yup, I can see what I need to see" and if I ever have to have it at max brightness, I just cycle to it and if I pass it, just do it again. Even less important when the light has a direct-to-turbo, like it should. Maybe I am a stickler for simplicity and trimming the fat, despite my love of more and multiple functions. Great vid as always!
Thanks for taking the time to comment in detail. The power light I find useful because I don't always know if I'm at full power without it dropping down to lowest and cycling through (ofter twice)! (and it doesn't have direct to turbo)
yeeeaaaahhh not gonna lie I wrote off the nitecore when you said non-replaceable battery, but still watched lol. a flashlight with a non-replaceable battery, no matter how good or rechargeable it is, is like a non-sharpenable knife
Meh, it is a trade off on the sealed battery, I bought one knowing like my phone the battery will last 4-5 years probably just fine but it has a 2yr warranty. But truth is in 4-5 years nitecore will have created the next new thing that I just have to upgrade to anyway I am sure I will get my $60 worth of edc by then
More like a knife you can only ReSharpen 10,000 times. Lol Honestly how many 18650 batteries have you recharged to the point they won't hold a charge anymore?
Welcome back Sir 😊 Hope you had a great trip! About the EDC33: I don’t really get most of the criticism about non replaceable batteries. By the time the battery will start malfunctioning, this flashlight will be completely outdated. You’d buy a new one before any issues occur. It’s only a problem for tactical use, where you’d want a second fully charged battery as a backup. But that’s not a tactical light, it has EDC in its name.
Hi Eyal, thanks 😊 I can live with it too, but for those who are not chasing new tech it could outlast the battery. For me I’d rather have the greater power for small size on offer and accept it won’t last forever.
The Wuben looks like a very useful EDC light! Ill consider it in the future, right now im waiting for a DreamBlue and Golden Warrior3S to arrive! The similar Fenix also looks very nice, i wanted to buy it this week then by chance i saw that gorgeous looking Warrior3S! In December i bought another nice looking White Seeker4Pro.
I have the Olight Baton 4. For the size and price ($64), it has amazing performance. I also have the larger Olight Seeker 4 ($93 at Amazon), and that is also a beast. Olight has a lifetime warranty too.
Yes, agreed. That proprietary charger is a little annoying to carry as well when traveling. Hopefully, the future is USB-C with the latest European common USB charging requirement. Just like the Seeker 4 is. I guess it'll ultimately be a cheaper design.

All nice lights. But there wasn't one that made me think of replacing my Sofirn IF23. It's currently on Amazon for £52 with a 25% off voucher. 21700 powered and more bells and whistles than almost any light I owned prior. It's a really tough light to beat for value and performance :) Thanks for the Vid Jon. As always well made :)
Darn it, now I have to buy a new torch. Nitecore EDC33 Have you seen the end of the original Planet of the Apes, when I see one of your YT vids, I know I am going to have the same feeling, well my wallet is...LOL, great video as always. Cheers
I have owned two of the Wuben L1, and compared to their other offerings it is a complete let down. The first one was defective wouldn't charge in the flashlight and wouldn't discharge has a portable power source as it was supposed to so I charge the battery outside of the flashlight. The second one works fine but on both the switches are incredibly easy to automatically turn the light on so as an EDC light it is fairly useless unless you want to go through the exercise of backing off of the tail cap when you carry it.
@Ian.. Not sure what they mean to be honest, easy to test that. Just get any torch with a strobe, point it at a tree or something and have at it. It's not disorientating at all really for the user.
