    I'm having a tough time spending more than 60 bucks on a knife right now thanks to Civivi, Bestech, AC and all the others. Great job as usual.

    Thank you for pointing out the subtle difference in how your two Civivi knives cut. It has really set me thinking about how I actually use my knives. I am no longer a "hard use" knife guy but I still tend to think I am one. The result has been an underlying dissatisfaction and subtle disappointment. What I really want is a wicked keen slicer that is also a pleasure to fidget with and relatively easy to keep sharp. All the current Civivi knives fit that description.
    Thank you Bryan for helping me with my existential crisis.

      This is the second time I've caused someone an existential crisis. I have to be careful with my tiny amount of power!

    I've got one and I like Blue liners. My friend dyed the tan scales blue. Also, on my green brigand, the liners and pocket clip are pewter.

    I have the brass scale version with 154cm steel baklash(which I feel is a upgraded version of the base model because of the 154cm and brass) I picked up after getting the brass scale elementum and being VERY impressed. This is a absolutely fantastic knife! Fit and finish is a great, action is just as smooth as some of my higher end knives, zero blade play, perfect blade centering and the brass scales are gorgeous and after time/use makes your knife personalized with the petina. I would have probably paid more if I had to! This is by far the best knife I've found in the price range! They have really raised the bar for budget knives! I like mine just as much my spyderco para 2 and zt 350ts.

  • @Stahlwerk88
    @Stahlwerk88 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I had one of these show up at my door last week, it was flawless out of the box and the action has only improved in the several hundred gratuitous flips I’ve given it since opening the box. I want the other two models now. I have two Kizer Vanguard models (Velox 2 and Mini Sheepdog) and this blows both out of the water in fit, finish, and especially that action, all for just over half the price. Hell, I’ve got a half dozen ZT knives at ~$200 each that shudder every time I flip this Civivi open... the action is just so satisfying.

    Wish they made one in the 3 to 3.25 inch range, I tend to like that size of blade better. But will prob still get this one.

    Hi BrianI just received my blue NAJA today and it is beautiful:-) the G10 scales have the perfect texture to provide an excellent grip and the action is buttery smooth and the detent is very good along with the centering being perfect. Now I have all 3 :-)

    I agree with other experienced knife users. When the tip of the knife extends too far from the hand, it can’t be manipulated as well. I prefer a four finger handle, with a 2.9” blade. Similar to the Lionsteel TRE, which is my preferred EDC. This should be part of the product line.

    I love, love, love my backlash. Best part of upgrading to the carbon fiber? They ditch the silver pocket clip for a black one, much more discreet.
    Edit: also, black liners and black screws. Class.

  • @timbo4374

    Out of the three they have so far, this is the best looking one imho. I am tempted to grab one, but I am trying to save up for another knife I have my eyes on.. Still..a good looking knife though, and I'm sure that WE's budget line is as good if not better than Kizer's Tangram line, and I admit I like the colored liners..
    Thanks for another great review

    My current EDC is a Spyderco Shaman, wich fullfills all my dreams when it comes to an edc knife. Accept for one thing: it's fun to play with but not as fun as a snappy flipper. So wich is the snappyer Flipper, i know the praxis shuts better but maybe the backlash is snappyer. Btw hate the Naja (think also it's supposed to pronounced "Naha" the same thing as in the Baja race) the texture on the handle reminds me of cheap FRN and the design is to Ken oniony for my taste. But the other two are homeruns in my book.

    • @SliceyDicey
      @SliceyDicey  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought it was Naha also but apparently they do pronounce it like I said. The Baklash is just a touch snappier.

  • @soundknight

    There's a lot of choices around since you made this video but I think this is still the knife to get.
    I like the honey badger but the list grade steel and plastic handles is a deal killer. The crooked river is STUNNING but the fact I will have to repair it's Lamborghini mechanism in 10 years is a deal killer.

  • @davidh0159

    Just got mine in yesterday. the only things I see that could use some improvement: the top of the flipper tab is a bit sharp and the lockbar on mine is very stiff. Otherwise, holy cow this is a sharp knife. And a very nice looking knife with great ergonomics.

  • @fgtypezero0684
    @fgtypezero0684 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Loving the budget knife wars! It’s hard to not get 4-6 solid knives at the same price as a good knife.
    Just got the praxis yesterday, I can’t believe how well it flips. The steel is good enough, decently sharp. I like bigger knives so the blade thickness is disappointing. Ids also damn ergonomic.
    Civivi has gained my confidence. Unfortunately the praxis is the only model that appeals to me.

    Just got this knife in the mail today as my first civivi. Very impressed!! It came in a nice case with soft suede like material which I was not expecting and a couple stickers which is always a plus lol. It’s on the larger side for an edc knife for me personally but the quality seems great for the price point!

    Hey man I just got a Baklash and the detent is pretty much nonexistent...it stays at like a 45-60 degree angle from the handle and doesn’t open...do you think it’s an assembly issue? If so, any ideas how to fix it? Or should I just exchange it?

    You're right about the blue. We need to have a talk with Zel, about that.

    I'd buy this one too, if it had the Praxis liner color.

    • @SliceyDicey
      @SliceyDicey  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A LOT of D2 knives in this range. I kinda think they wanted to offer something good, but easier to sharpen in the same price range. I'm good with that. As I said, every review I've seen (from people smarter than me) say that it's a really good steel. Equivalent to good VG-10 or 14c28n
