I love those Turkeys man! They are the local wildlife in my area, the whole town loves them, we give them right of way on any roads. Im serious, lol. I have never seen a white one like that, they can fly too.
Sounds like the conrod snapped. Engine did also sound a little lean on the top end. When the engine flooded, it could have stressed the conrod and as a result, weakened it. At this point, who knows for sure. This is a part of the nitro life and I wouldn't have it any other way.
hey bro!! Great analysis, I have yet to actually open the engine and look, but based on what I heard I have reached the same conclusion as you, it sounded too lean and then just died. I will give a play by play video soon, n how it all went down. The weird thing is I ran about 2 tanks off camera to make sure the engine was fine before doing any videos, and the engine ran well. For some reason I could hear it lean out during this last run also.
I have heard about Covid-19 in NY area. It's like hell broke loose. Hope you are doing well in nitro quarantine! In my country we already have limited walks and socialising outside. All the recreation areas have been closed down even basketball courts and children's playgrounds, when in confined public place like grocery stores we are obliged to wear face masks and gloves ... Man this pandemic sucks ...

hey man! I did not trim the body on this revo, It was already done when I bought it used like 3 yrs ago. Anyway, it's a good idea to put a few small cutouts in the front to help cool the motor, this is at the main reason people do that. Considering some of the cooling head already sits outside the body I personally don't think it's that effective.

right on my T-maxx Brother!! You cant kill a T-maxx cause there will always be alot of cheap parts available all around, it's a great truck to work on and restore just because of that alone.
I had the same problem ones and the connecting rod went a little outward and hitted that line that is formed and has stopping it from spinning just turn your engine back and forth that maybe fix it

hey man! I'm actually working on my own Jato 3.3 right now. Hoping to get it running, it's got the worst brakes possible. No matter how I adjust them they are weak. The brake cam arm flexes alot, do you have that problem? What was your problem> broken connecting rod?
My brake parts look normal, I just tightened the brake bolts as far as possible without them rubbing the brake disk. But still, the wheels just don't lock up at all. My whole chassis flexes when the brakes are applied, LOL, and yet the brake cam arm is just flexing.

As far as the brakes go, on my Jato I bought a new rotor, pads and the square little piston and I roughed up the pads with sand paper real good and they work better, but the brakes really were a poor design by traxxas, kind of strange because the rest of the car was designed very well. Heck my Revo 3.3 stops on a dime. I bought my Jato used on Ebay and rebuilt it and after I broke in the 3.3 I found that pumping the brakes helps it stop a little better too. Hey, about your O.S. TZ .18 I bet it is your rear main bearing that went , that is what happened to my 3.3 in my Jato and I replaced them with Fast Eddie bearings and it runs great now except for now there is something wrong with the transmission, I have to tear it apart and see what's wrong. It's all about runnin em and wrenchin on em.

yes, there are many versions of that HSP model, its also sold as a redcat and Exceed. The exceed nitro rally monster is almost the same exact chassis, you'd be fine with any of them really. Its been around for at least 13-15 years, but nothing bad about it for the money.

you could have a electric motor fail from salt water if not properly cleaned i trashed my first velineon running it on salty winter roads motor siezed up and exploded after like a week of abuse in salt lol
hey man! Good point. That is also possible, you're right. But usually it would need to be submerges pretty well. But I don't think my engine trouble is a result of the salt water or the engine bake, I will examine it soon and open it up, we will all see. I don't keep the bad things that happen to me a secret, you know, If mistakes were made I will let everyone know. In the end, it's only costing me money, but we will all find out.

hybrid32494 I had a hpi savage 21 it did the same thing my motor blew up. It sized up I converted to a 4.6 I sold it 11 years ago

When bearings wear they allow for more play... might matter in a 40k rpm piston engine.

But I don't think my engine trouble is a result of the salt water or the engine bake, I will examine it soon and open it up, we will all see.
