  • I just bought this 2009, and noticed stain on headliner. It was an active leak.

    I was having a leak on my 2010 Ridgeline after a windshield replacement, I popped up the roof trim and found an almost identical crack. Thx for the video.

    I cant believe Honda still not fixing the problems that occurred from the first years of the G2…my 2018 RTL-E has rust on the top of both rear doors under the seal rubber, and after i took my Ridgeline to the local dealership and the body shop checked and told me that i need 2 new rear doors…i have extended warranty, but so far Honda USA didn’t call me back after a bunch of my calls…they say a case manager has to call me, but never did and this is going on for over 3 months after i found out the rust…

    Had the same issue. 98 Crv. A lot of people told me it was the tray below the window filling up and leaking down into the fresh air vent. Took all part and did the retro fix and that didn’t fix it. Pulled off the rack and the trim on the top and sure enough the seam sealer on the top was cracked all the way down to the window. Used some clear window sealer and instantly fixed the issue. Thanks man!!

    My 2013 has a very similar leak on the passenger side, I was getting ready to pull the new windshield. Holly cats, going to do thus first. Thank you!

    Thanks for this video! SafeLight Auto Glass is in my garage replacing my windshield as I figured it was due to a poor replacement a few years ago. They looked over everything; the windshield bond was solid so they suspected a weld under the trim. That's when I found this video and it's exactly what I'm dealing with. The old windshield broke while they were taking it out so they're putting a new one in but luckily they are still covering the trip under the warranty. They said to wait two days before trying your fix so the new windshield is fully cured before I could accidentally bump it ;) Also good news, I cleaned my garage enough to park the truck in there for the first time in 10 years. I expect that
      @harrisonashleyfrancis9613 did the right thing (i.e. seal the seam & around the roof-rack plates from front to back). Prep with a serious pressure washing first. Then, for example.... th-cam.com/video/KysXj_PfIAE/w-d-xo.html

    Thanks for the video. I though it might be the windshield also but this seems to be a legit Honda problem cause mine is on a 2010 pilot. Same exact area and side.

      Prep is key. Pressure wash the groove and then wipe it down with alcohol. Use body sealer, or marine grade silicone... is what I hear. I have to go in for another try. Good luck.

    I don't care for these trim strips at all. I wish makers would bring back rain gutters and side vent windows like the old days, they worked just fine.

  • @Buzzsteele
    @Buzzsteele 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Mine is doing the exact same thing. I did check the sun roof drains and they’re fine. I poured water directly in the roof rack track and it leaked. I’m hoping this sealant solved your problem. Sure would like to know.

      Knowledge sharing Dpt. :
      I can report my MICU Module (located near driver footwell) does not like to get showered by roof leaks.
      Look out for green/white oxidation evidence on circuit board as well as "Body electrical controller" errors in your OBD2 scanner (I keep these faults resetting once a week).
      Also beware of battery drain when MICU stops entering normal "sleep mode" (got myself a $60 jump-starter at Costco).
      Enjoy your HondAcura as it is far more reliable than any German money-pit.
