the scrabs look powerful because they resemble an armless centaur,
Every single species... "I'm not going to cover every single species", haha
The idea of meeches still being around would be great. Like the Glukkens probably labeled as extinct due to simply not seeing them at the same place they been hunting them. Meeches would probably look much different than their long gone cousins
or maby on far continents still sprital glucons? or what about sligs who hate the industrialist and are less sadistic?
I second this notion. There's even a real-world precedent for stuff like that happening; there's a species of fish called the coelacanth, which is a fish that has remained virtually unchanged since prehistoric times. They dwell in very deep underwater caves, so for decades upon decades, people couldn't study, examine, or even see them. Naturally, after never seeing a single specimen, people just kind of assumed they'd all died off.
So imagine the astonishment when a _live specimen_ of coelacanth was discovered (if memory serves, it was swimming under a recreational boat), just casually doing its thing. Needless to say, it caused quite the stir in the scientific and biologist communities. Granted, a prehistoric species being hard-to-reach is a lot different than a modern-day species that's been hunted to the brink of extinction (and possibly, _into_ extinction), but it's still a possible parallel.
There's also the case of the Honshu wolf, native to what is now modern-day Japan; it's widely believed to be extinct, but there are still people who, to this day, swear up-and-down that they've seen live specimens.
38 minutes of fully compiled amusement and study of alien biology.
i remember playing this as a kid on ps1, the nostalgia is real
Great. A lot of things I never knew. Something like the Glukkons and Mudokons were once living in harmony, until their hand showed up on the moon. Never heard about that. The only thing I missed were the Greeters. They‘re so creepy. Maybe someday you can also include them! Great work and thank you for new Oddworld knowledge!
Those painted backgrounds of the first two are so damn great even to this day, when you threw the picture of the jungle up those orange tones gave me such nostalgia and love for those environs
Dude I was looking for a video or something online on the biology of oddworld creatures, thank you ❤
No problem, I hope you enjoy it
I love your content. Your voice is more charismatic than Curious Archiwe. I can't wait to see all tomorrows redux audiobook on your Chanel. Have a nice day Beware the Qu
All in one Great Sandwich-Burger Bestiary!!
Marvelous compilación!! Thank you!! 🍔🥪
Have you ever thought about Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind?
I'll look into it.
MOM new beware the Qu video just dropped
Magog on the March! News you can use!!
The first game has intense nostalgia for me. This makes me want to play the entire series. Thank you
Just discovered this channel last night and it's quickly becoming my new favorite thing. Absolutely love the content. Time to binge out.
Thanks Jonathan!
This series has always been intriguing to me. Only played Stranger's Wrath but definitely want to check out the other games.
This video is such a great resource. Thanks for uploading!
This was a great video, love the editing
wow i cant belive you are a fan of oddworld too !. i played the first 2 games as a 7yo kid on playstation. The games we re so hard but i beat them in like 1 year or so xD
I have to say I appreciate this video it's always amazingly interesting to hear about the different species of the oddworld series my favorite creature was always the fuzzle
Another very good video! Keep it up brother. I’d love to here you’re take on Kenshi.
Yo, Can you do a video what id Qu mutated Poof's Killergarten characters
This was great. Thank you 👽🙏
Oddworld is so good dude. The fact that it still to this day feels largely u fulfilled is what drives me nuts. There’s not nearly as much info as I would want to absorb. Still a great achievement in games
Great video!
Although, I do think you've left out the Outlaws, who somewhat form their own category beside natives, industrialists, wildlife.
There even seem to be a few sub-species within the broader term of Outlaws.
Yeah I was sure I did them all but even so I ended up missing them and possibly one or two others lol. Thanks for watching.
@@BewareCast Still, the effort is amazing. It's great to have such a detailed overview.
Thanks for the answer!
This is simply beautiful. Keep up the awesome work. 😁😃😄🤩👍👍
I don’t know how to explain this, but you sound the narrator of a lovecraft narrator.
is the cry not for our souls statue a pre industralist glukon statue?
I always thought Sligs were Paramites with robotic limbs
Love the almighty rasin!!
I always thought the Glukkons came from a different planet for some reason
I legitimately had no idea Oddworld had so many sapient species.
Oddworld kinda reminds me of The Dark Crystal, which also has some amazing worldbuilding
they are surgically prevented from whistling while they work
whats the discord also remember me when your famous
If memory serves me, the Octigi Family is pronounced "Oct-ti-guy," while the Oktigi species is pronounced "Oct-tee-gee." Or maybe it's the other way around I can't recall precisely, but I know there is a difference in pronunciation. Not that I blame you for not knowing, I only know there's a difference from watching other videos about them~
I'm pretty well-known for mispronunciations by this point lol
@@BewareCast It's all good - it didn't bother me, I just figured I'd pass along the random information I know.
Great content! I know they are artificial, but where are the Greeters? They are my favourite Oddworld inhabitants!
I could eat a Mars Bar
Its odd how many sapient species there are on one planet. I wonder if real planets exist like this. The universe is vast enough for it to happen on one planet atleast.
Is it just me or does the scrabs look like a creeper from mincraft🤔🤔
I side with the Glokkons
The true sigma grindset
Odd world life is brutal
Either Oddworld's been making a comeback orrr youtube's been pulling into it. Not against it either way
Bro what is a Gulk ? In oddworld soulstorm after the last level they talk about a new location and the name of a Spezies the gulks. I never hear about this maybay you ?
i think the beetle would be lower than the slurg? the one seen at the intro of munch.
Are Scrabs and Meech related?
Mudos is 79,260 miles long..
I like paramites and kinda hate the scrabs, at least gameplay wise
i wonder why are there no native slogs? shouldent slogs be owned by both sides?
