Yeah TH-cam needed a channel dedicated to specifically modern sci-fi speculative biology, it was all All Tomorrow's at first but has since branched out a bit. I think we need some Lovecraft lore it seems right up his alley.

Yeah, the dark crystal has tons of great worldbuilding
3:40 - The difference between the Slegs and the Slogs, they're likely two difference sub-species as they're similar, but different enough.
6:25 - The Sligs have less intelligence, so they aren't as...inventive with their cruelty as the Wolvarks.
I'm gonna be honest--Oddworld as a series never interested me growing up until Stranger's Wrath was released. I love the design of the Steef--and consequently--the Stranger.
The most enigmatic of the Oddworld races! As unusual as the others are at least we met them in more than one game. The Chicken-People, Grubbs, Steefs etc only got the one outing many years ago. It's a shame but I kind of love that too.
The last video actually inspired me to get the 2 new games. I hadn't played any of these games until they were released on mobile, and Stranger's Wrath was the one I liked the most so far. Didn't know they did a reboot, but it's actually really good. I have New & Tasty on mobile and Soulstorm on PS4. I like Soulstorm a lot. I hope they keep going and reintroduce Stranger into the series again.
this is a really cool and well made vid series. i was so young when i played these games that i never really paid attention to the world building, so this makes me appreciate the games even more. gives me a deeper appreciation for the artists that designed these species as well.

You should probably do some Lovecraft species, I'm sure your subscribers will love it. I would like to see your take on The Great Race of Yith, The Migo, The Elder Things and the Shoggoths.
Hopefully one day we can better appreciate all the other cultures, species and regions of the entire Oddworld. Perhaps in Bestiary, Manuscript or even Tourist Guide format, but people like you really complement what is known, incorporating personal theories and giving an idea of the desired format. Thank you

The landscape, wildlife and characters of West Mudos are my most favorite. That combination of wild west with Oddworld-brand tech and civilization is just so good.

Bought strangers wrath and redownloaded new and tasty not to long ago, I never grew up with Oddworld, but, there’s no games quite like them

I have nostalgic childhood love for Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. It was my first Oddworld game and I simply fell in love with the aesthetic of the game and cartoonish-mature appearance. Dearly wish to see a sequel for the game. The voice of the Steef is so satisfying. The living ammo is also neat. I also despise Gloctigi.
Would have really loved to see a crossover between Strangers Wrath and Munches Odyssey

I've actually only played one oddworld game back in the day on what I'm guessing was the original Xbox, and it was Strangers Wrath, and all these years later it remains one of my favorite shooters of all time. It was short, but it was oh so sweet.

Oddworld is such an amazing world. I mean nothing is completely insane in terms of design, but never has as name been so fitting. Simply ''Odd'' indeed. But lovely too. It's almost as if we're talking pixar/disney style animations and designs... but *after* their Salvia trips.

I would love to, but I'm not sure I have the imagination for it to be honest.
@@BewareCast I think you could given your exposure to this subgenre. As for myself, I am developing three worlds thus far with unique species, ecosystems, technologies, economies, cultures and religions.
This was a incredibly influential game growing up. Still quote it today. Recently got my ps3 working again just so I could play it again. "WHATS THE PASSWEEERD?"

Y'know what would actuall be pretty amazing? I know it's far out, but an Oddworld VR experience or game. Think an adaptation of Stranger's Wrath but focussed on the interaction VR enables. I mean this would definitely be a world that translates *really* well to that platform.
please consider doing an audio book of some of Marc Laidlaw's work. i heard his books are reay good but i work a lot and only have time for audiobooks, for his of which don't exist. i only know him from half-life and epistle 3 but his world building style is somewhat similar to All Tomorrows or Odd World

These creatures and atmosphere of this game just aren't as good as the original two. However, love the video, I knew nothing about these beings until now.
