i was just abut to say like "I could've sworn it ended on mirage" good to know I'm not completely amateur about the ninjas history, it is my favourite team after all
Just to note, you said the "star four had been looking for a replacement" at 3:44, if you listen to the Reflections interviews with NiP members, most recently Friberg, they all state that removing Fiff was the organizations choice, and that they would have liked to keep playing together with Fifflaren indefinitely.
Eh, they needed to win without going into OT to qualify, they won 3 mafches, 1 on OT, but lost all the others in the regular time, while SK won the same matches with 1 on OT as well, but they lost on OT to Astralis, which gave them one more point
As a Swedish cs fan I can absolutely confirm. Although I want swedish cs back, I wouldnt want nip or fnatic to do it. Johhny speeds and metizport are growing and if Nilo gets on johhny speeds, we might actually have something to work with.
@@eliasnordenman5725 I live in finland but good guess nonetheless. And I actually like the old NIP, just the new one with garbage management got me worked up
I love that you focused on NiP after the 87-0 streak. I feel like a lot of retrospective NiP content we get focuses exclusively on that era up until their major win, and this was refreshing.
They were the reason I fell in love with cs esports their energy and just how happy and sick plays they had were amazing. Im old and my memory is bad but either f0rest or friberg's pistol entries were unmatched!
@@pcman--5326 cos he's not been on a team in that long basically so obviously no new clips. He was one of the most talked about players for his entire career
incredible video highlighting the team that made me love E-sports. As a young swede it was hard watching those downs but when NIP decided to be the best it was magic thank you
The Ninjas, especially GeT_RiGhT and f0rest were the team/people who brought me and many of my friends to the game and the esports scene we love. The loss against Vega really hit deep but to this day I still watch their streams and REZ' play. I feel like he deserves better though. The "newer" NIP seems like a pot of noodles where no sauce sticks. Seeing first GeT_RiGhT and now f0rest retire made me realise how long I played this game and how old I got. Having a full-time job playing sometimes in the evening and looking back were it all came from was a great callback. Keep up the amazing content it's what the CS-TH-cam scene really should offer!
What a most beautiful vid! I remember forrest and get_right from 1.6, i remember the rise and fall. I remember the old SK and fnatic rivalries with that iconic rosters. Looking back in such sufficient commentated manner gives me chills. Well done! I'd love more of those revues.
The way PHY manages to get me pumped over a game I’ve never played is incredible. Never so much as touched Counter Strike but I get SO invested in these videos.
Man these videos your making this year covering the old history of the CSGO scene are just incredible. Ive been heavily invested in the CS pro scene since 2013 and seeing these old lineups and tournaments i watched growing up is bringing back so many memories. I didnt get to make it, but my 3 closest friends also went to that first IEM Oakland tourney as their first and only CS event they've gone too. We are so hyped for the Austin Major next year we are all going to fly out for it.
PHY, I’m new to CS and I have just 200 hrs logged but oh man oh man I really can’t get enough of your videos. The raw emotion and ups and downs that you’re able to convey from tournaments from nearly a decade ago never ceases to amaze me and I am always looking forward to when you post now. Keep up the amazing work 🤙🏻
God this video brings me so much joy. I will never forget when I was 12-13 and I discovered counter strike and it has been my love ever since. No looking back. Get_Right's playstyle is what I've always strived to achieve and is the reason I have become a faceit lvl 10 player today. Thanks for the video and keep up the great work man.

Great vid! Makes me feel nostalic, and reminds me of the good ol' times when I was 12 and started with csgo and was the biggest NIP fan. To this day one of my best moments in Counter Strike is, when i played Get Right back to back in matchmaking. Sadly these times are gone now...
I see somebody is a fan of Secret Bases "deep rewind" series. Awesome video love how you ended it like they do just letting the moment play out and the video ends.
I cheered for NIP back then. I have always cheered for my 1.6 heroes. Thank you for making such a beautiful video on these guys. I hope you blow up my guy, you are an amazing storyteller.
wait i thought 87-0 ended on mirage vs vp's actual team back then being dosia's cis roster with kucher adren ange1 and fox from back in the day have i been misinformed this entire time?
forgot to mention that, losing to flips3de was just a scratch what was the biggest blow was them losing their legend status and not having a direct invite to the next major
I followed CS:GO from the beginning until about 2014/15. SK were my 1.6 team and I liked Fnatic as well, so naturally NiP became my CS:GO team. Something people often forget is there was a lot of resistance to CS:GO when it first came out. It was a buggy mess and it didn't handle at all like previous CS games. Having a superteam of top 1.6 and CS:S pros willing to make the switch to CS:GO really helped the game gain a foothold in the competitive scene, when tournaments and orgs were uncertain about committing.
The only win streak I can think of that is longer is De La Salle winning 151 football games in a row and they made a movie about it: When the Game Stands Tall
0:58 - to be fair, that can be said for almost every early sporting dynsasty. Esrly f1, early football, basketball, etc. Most of the legends were playing/racing/fighting against random dudes lol
They were every new fan's favorite team. I used to believe back in 2014 that Fifflaren was like a top 10 player cause' they would finish top4 everytime. I would've also liked to seen a nod to Thorin considering that he made the phrase popular/coined it.
Honestly NIPs win in Oakland 2017 was WAAAAYYY more impressive than 2016. In 2016, SK had not won a single tournament since the major, and had been notoriously struggling at the end of 2016. Faze was at the time a completely unproven roster, even if promising at times. In 2017 however, Faze was essentially an unbeatable super team, and SK was arguably at their best form ever. As a matter of fact, out of the last 6 S tier tournaments of 2017, all were won by either SK or Faze, with the exception of Oakland. Meaning that NIP had to beat both those teams at their peak
It's funny how you say if you don't got a team then you root for NiP cus that's what happened with me in 2016 when I got into CS esports , still got an NiP flag on my wall from 2017/18
