- Forget about the spec listed as white grease 2125, just go with a listed compatible grease. I list the greases recommended by SCAG for the spindles in the video.
Check your owner's manual for your specific grease listing, Mobil XHP 222 should cover 90% of all zero turn spindles and chassis components including wheel castors and bearings.

I own a landscaping company. I used Lucas oil Red & Tacky #2 for all of my equipment. Never had any issues whatsoever. My equipment runs nonstop 5-6 days per week. Lastly. Yes I’m on lawnsite.😂

Anyone using Amsoil Muti synthetic or Polymer grease? I never see any videos on their grease. I also seen Prolube Extreme really pushing their grease and Triax Spheron , anyone tried those?

On a side note, I was at my local SCAG dealer yesterday and they have SCAG proprietary spindle grease.

Thanks! Great advice for a beginner, got the Mobil XHP 222 online. Can you comment on Scag spindle greasing? there's a discharge point on the opposite side of the zerk that's supposed to keep you from blowing the seals. Should you keep adding grease until it starts coming out the discharge? I'm a little afraid to do it.
Ken, on mine, the over pressure valves would open and bleed a little grease at the 7 pumps mark.
Those spindles are awesome in the fact that too much grease or too frequent greasing, will open and prevent seal damage as you said. They are also very conservative with grease. Scag recommends 40 hours on those. I don't like to go a full 40 hours on mine so about the 10 to 15 hour mark, I'll carefully pump 3 or 4 pumps to keep it well greased.
I really do think the Scag spindles are very well engineered.

Finally, I put some XHP222 on the bearing of the CVT, it worked well. I will open and check it frequently to see if the grease dry fast.
start end, good deal on the bearing being greaseable.
Keeping the bearing greased is the key to a long life of this component. Also be careful not to over grease as any excess can be detrimental to other CVT components designed to run dry.
