Sabalenka is known to be one of the fittest, if not the fittest athlete in the WTA, no way she's gonna have physical issues in that match. Rybakina doesn’t peak, she only falls to her new floor and then establishes a new ceiling shortly afterward. If she consistently plays even close to her best she will establish a new floor and ceiling again.
Last time sabalenka lost winning 3 or fewer games was the semis of Rome in May 2022... most of her loses since have been 3 sets ... rybakina now has won 3 out of last 4 matches against sabalenka and all 3 in 2 sets ... she's got a real chance at the australian open
It probably is, Sabalenka has a monster forehand but she always avoids going into prolonged forehand to forehand crosscourt rallies with Rybakina because she always loses those exchanges. Same goes with Iga.
Claiming it. Rybakina will win a slam and get to that freaking #1 spot this year! Praying 🙏 for no injury for her as well. WTA is shaping up with Iga, Saba, Coco, Rybakina can slug it out for the #1 spot and grandslams while the comeback queens: wozniacki, kerber, osaka and azarenka will pose a threat to them. Exciting!
@@tennisobserver995 Osaka hasn't been a threat since her French Open meltdown. Maybe she's matured, but it's a long climb for her to start consistently beating Swiatek, Rybakina and Sabalenka...all who have gotten tougher and improved during Osaka's time away.
@@tennisobserver995I’m not expecting much from Osaka this season, but next season (assuming she stays healthy), I think she’ll be the one to beat on hard courts just like she was before she took a break.
She needs Iga to keep Gauff at bay for a while to do that because Gauff’s style will be tricky for Rybakina until she learns to move a bit better and add a little more variety. If Pegula catches up to Gauff and knocks her out of number 4 then Rybakina could be in trouble potentially.

She smiled after the last point. I smiled too. Her smile broadened and both of them smiled after a hug. My eyes watered. I guess sports coupled with such warmth is moving. Aryna is a super nice person too. Elena has a kind of sweet modesty that iga lacks. I love iga's shots. Nothing really about aryna. Starting to enjoy watching elena. My fav player is Vika. If she consistently plays even close to her best she will establish a new floor and ceiling again.
Kazakhstan, bravo!!!!
От Казахстана там только флажок. 😊
@@LobsterFromMarsа где флаг России? Флаг нельзя, гимн нельзя, нерукопожатны. Токсичная страна.
Rybakina got such good timing on the ball, skills.
Last time sabalenka lost winning 3 or fewer games was the semis of Rome in May 2022... most of her loses since have been 3 sets ... rybakina now has won 3 out of last 4 matches against sabalenka and all 3 in 2 sets ... she's got a real chance at the australian open
Bravo Ryba, that’s the only way to make it happen for the next time 👸🏼❤️🇨🇦
What a match! She plays very very well! 🎾🎾👍👍
Holy crap what a performance Elena, incredible scoreline
Looked like a bad day at the office for Saba with Elena just on top of every ball, hitting it so well. Well done.
sabalenka hits hard and hope it stays on court.
After the US Open, this is definitely a bad day.
Yes!...i'm very happy for her...keep going Elena...
Sabalenka gave Rybakina everything she had and look at that score lol. Awesome job Elena!
Rybakina’s forehand might be the best in the WTA right now.
Exciting!
Only Osaka is a threat, the rest are just very good gatekeepers, imho.
I think that swiatek Will win Australia and French open rybakina in wimbledon and US open Saba
Very well done Elena.. It was very enjoyable. Just do becareful little gir? Don't burn yourself out, keep in good shape & no tourney is more important, than your health. Take care / both of you!
Can't wait to see Rybakina at the top of rankings in 2024.
Elena looks ready for 2024, jazda!
What a game Elina has...magnificent tennis. 🤟
The world of tennis is so proud of both of you.
Amazing victory ; I have never seen Rybakina moving her long legs SO FAST ! ( not lazy anymore )
She is starting to look more and more like Sharapova on the court and Sharapova was a grinder at the end of her career.
@@westonmeyer3110 yeah, except that she has a better serve than Sharapova, but to be honest, I think Sharapova would have won at least 10 slams if she had not played with that compromised shoulder for most of her career.
Wow! If Elena keeps playing like that... Iga will have some real competition for #1.
I was gobsmacked in this match by Elina, wow she took Aryna out and made it look a walk in the park, good luck to rybakina for AO im excited for her
Great match of real tennis champions . Congratulations for both players 😊
Stunning performance 👏👏👏
I just love it when they are so sweet off the court and a 👹 on it! 😂😂❤
Rybakina puts Sabalenka in her place. When she's on, no one can beat her, not even Swiatek.
Looks like some good work put in during the pre-season by Rybakina. Her arms looked more toned than before, too!
Rybakina must be the toughest to play when you feel that she never misses and never shows any emotions (except a slight smirk).
If Elena can keep up this level of consistency, she could win multiple slams this year and even grab the #1 ranking! Here’s to hoping. Much prefer her over Iga…
If she wins AO then she will definitely want to get another Wimbledon too.
I also expect to her to go for the US Open and at least finally go deep there and she will definitely do better at RG than last year.
Rybakina is like a lady Nojo, she can throw the ball any place she wants to confuse her opponents subsequently losing their balance, i really love watching her play, no grunts no ahhhs just superb tennis💕
Sabalenka is a great example of modern power tennis in the ladies game and of what happens to that when power is all you have. Elena played a much more cerebral match imho. Lovely sportsman(woman)ship at the net too.
After this, the United Cup and the Auckland Classic, really looking forward to AO...
Rybakina is going to play Adelaide first before the AO
One of the best performances in the history of womens tennis. INCREDIBLE.
Great performance by Rybakina 👏👏👏👏
Love Rybakina, she's very cool and calm, she's the champion but does not even celebrate ❤❤❤
Clase magistral de Elena; sobre todo con el reves!! Enhorabuena y aviso para navegantes!!
Алға Елена, Алға Қазақ елім🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿
I hope Elena wins another Slam this year (one she actually get points for). For now she is my favorite for the Australian Open.
She probably is close to the favorite now.
I will also consider Iga Świątek. She won all single matches at united cup and won China Open and WTA finals at the end of the season, she also won 6-4 with Rybakina at wył.
Hopefully she wins the Aussie Open, deserves it. Best on the WTA...
Well, well, well,if Rybakina continues on this form the AO title is hers! Not even Iga let alone anyone else could bagel Sabalenka and on this form Iga could well receive a similar treatment in 2 weeks' time!😂 this is tennis on another level.
Rybakina laying the smackdown 🏆
Congratulations Elena Rybakina 👍👍👏👏❤❤💋💋
Crisp
Icy cold
Precise
Humble.
So nice to see elena in this top form. I was never her fan since her wimbledon win but I think she is in really good shape now.
Silent and tranquil.
Does she practice at all? No tan. The only one with no tan and even with a pinkish glow.
No over reaction like leylah after every point or every crucial point. Just so so so cool.
I was sad yesterday but well she's 34+.
I enjoy top tennis but really enjoy iga.
Will be an exciting year. Elena will be up the ranks for sure. Up in this case will be 1 or 2.
Aryna's edge is her super good physical condition. Rarely injured in 2023.
"She smiled after the last point. I smiled too.
Her smile broadened and both of them smiled after a hug. My eyes watered. I guess sports coupled with such warmth is moving." These are easily the best six sentences in this comment thread. So glad to know tennis fans like you still exist. Thank you, ma'am.
