Big thunder mountain railway was open when my kids were little....and the youngest is 45. We were big Disney fans having a condo in Cocoa Beach. Does anyone remember the paper coupons you used to enter the rides?
My father's uncle worked in the construction of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" which was permanently closed in 1996. It was a great attraction, but too expensive to maintain.
So jealous, the fort is our favorite place to visit! Two yrs to the day we were there for two weeks and one of our favorite things to do was to take the boat over to Disney and then get on the monorail and take it full circle stopping at all the different resorts! I also hope they bring pioneer hall back it’s the best!
My wife and I were just talking about this, we have four girls and we decided that we just can't compromise our worldview for disney / espn anymore, there are so many places that could use our vacation dollars. We decided instead of Disneyworld this spring we are going to Branson.
I missed this one back when you posted it. I enjoyed this video so much! I understand your disappointment on so many things being closed, but you have captured a moment in time that hopefully will never happen again. Yet you have documented it completely for posterity! Your narrative was a tad negative, though. 😂 Anytime I’ve been there, I couldn’t ride everything anyway because it was 1) Too hot …2) Too crowded …3) Lines too long because of 1&2, lol! Amazing that California’s Disney closed yet that one stays open. It really is the interpretation of each business and state mandate for sure. Enjoy sleeping in.

My husband and I would go to Disney World quite often in the 90’s and it was packed when we would go,haven’t been since. Got to say your attitude is good and cheery, I think it would be a bit depressing the way it is now especially because of the pandemic.

The animatronics in Splash Mountain were characters out of books by Joel Chandler Harris - Brer Fox, Brer Rabbit, the Tar Baby, and tales from Uncle Remus. The movie, SONG OF THE SOUTH, contained these characters, plus a black gentleman, James Baskett, who played the character Uncle Remus. It's these characters, and the plantation (slavery) connotation that has people upset. All Disney has to do is to change the characters, and keep the rest of Splash Mountain.

I was one of the first kids to enter the Magic Kingdom in 1971 at age 6
It was a very magical experience then and so different than now.
They let too many people in at a time. It ruins the experience. That’s why I’m a native Floridian and I don’t go anymore.

How far out did you make your theme park reservations for your tickets? We have the campsite reservations already.

I think it's great that they still have Christmas decorations up because people couldn't get there for the holiday with their family and kids. 💓💓
