  • *edit* the locked front spool was the main culprit of the twitchy front end
    After getting home from the track I spent all night researching what others have done to their TT-02’s, and found rcracers articles very helpful, so I will
    Be utilizing his tips for when the MODIFIED TT-02 hits the track

    Hi Rex, niiiiiiiiiice video, I put the rubber shock o rings in the dog bone cups, one either end and this stops the dog bones 🦴 from coming out. Hope this helps pal. 😎👍👍👍🇬🇧

    I use to choose the tt-02r option since it has 90% of the hopups i need. Add alu steering and you have a kit which performs well in rallye and onroad setup.

    My shop runs a 27t motor and 25t pinion class for TT-02 tub chassis and only upgrades allowed are tamiya suspension and drivetrain. I learned in winter oval a must have is the shock oil upgrades ditch the friction shocks, aluminum driveshaft and cvds..then your good to go👍👍✔️

    • @rexrcs
      @rexrcs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the oil shocks are much needed for many situations

    Nice video Rex, shame about the drive cup and drive shaft problem. You’ll get it fixed though, you’ll soon have that TT-02 running beautifully again! 😆😊😉

    All in all Rex, it did really well, for what the kit is. Great driving and tuning tips too man, GFJ!!!!!

      Youre right, I also have to consider the body, the truck overhangs a lot in the rear and has a high roll centre… although the tl-01 handled that body like a champ, thanks 🙏👊

    I much prefer the TT01 over the TT02 but thats just me another great comparison and test.

    Never done any on road cars really well apart from Mardave minis in the 80s.
    Great track though!

    Damn mate, that TT-02 is like an old Avante without threadloc on track, drops one part per corner LUL Really fun video, the suspense with the odd behaving car at the start, the realization that you're running WRC mode on track, and then the little finetuning with the car overall. Fun watch. I "think" the TT01 stock would be the perfect runner after this one, just because lots of people probably ponder whether the TT01E or TT02 is the car to buy when starting out, so you could give your thoughts on their driveability out of the box, perhaps even make a separate vid on that, if you like. Not that TT02 vs TT01 hasnt been discussed to death, but its a fun topic.
    Cheers

      I think I might actually do tt-01 first before m05, thank you and madmustang for that suggestion

    Tt02r was the only car I ever raced on carpet. It did pretty good when someone else drove. lol. I did lose a dogbone and ended up getting universals since I crashed a lot.

      I wish I could get my hands on an SR for comparisons also, TT-01 might be hitting the track today

    Running that truck body is what's hurting you down the back straight.. not enough rear down force.. add a wing or change to a more onroad body :)

      If you have a track close by I would get what they sell or I would ask locals what they use and where to buy it, we use many different tires, gravity, sorex, magic, jaco, sweep and many more

    So is the TT02 bad? Or just a budget chassis?

    • @rexrcs
      @rexrcs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not bad at all, check out my TT-02SW video, I think its a great chassis to use, if youre looking for a great entry level touring car from Tamiya, the TT-01E is Excellent 😍
