- Welp, I finally did it. Possibly the least adventurous arrangement I've ever made, meticulously transcribed and tinkered with for quite a while. A tribute to my biggest influence, favorite artist and biggest inspiration, and hopefully one that won't let him or anyone else down.
This song was released 15 years ago and it completely and utterly blew my goddamn mind. To this day, it remains one of my favorite songs, period. You know, one of those tracks you can't ever seem to get tired of no matter how much time passes. A modern classic. I realize the theme of my channel should kind of force me to go for one of his actual video game soundtracks - and I'll do some stuff from Lost Child for sure, promise - but I feel like this should be the #1 pick for a tribute, so that's what I'm going with.
My one gripe is that slides have a tendency to crap out in it. Both bass and guitar slides randomly go "lolno" for some reason. I'ma throw a fit. Still, I'm happy with this result, and I hope you guys have a friggin' blast listening to it.

I hear some pretty heavy influence from Thunder force(4) and MegaMan X, too (which is really awesome!). You should hear mine, but heck, they're years ago...

In my experience, Soundcloud is messed up for sound quality as well, it doesn't keep the original tracks, it re-encodes. The only service so far that I was able to find that still keeps your original raw unfiltered audio tracks is Bandcamp. The only one too, which is kinda scary. Tons of services out there and too few people that actually know what the hell they're doing. So sad.
Surprisingly enough, from what I've been noticing, I think that Twitch also doesn't introduce any kind of filtering or compressing to their audio, they keep as original as possible, which is a plus. Twitch used to allow uploads of videos, but I don't know how that works out nowadays.
@@FeelingShred Patreon has the original audio files for download as well, so there's always that option. Streaming from there probably has some compression going on as well, but either way, both patreon and soundcloud sounds far better than TH-cam in some cases so those are still better options if you're picky about audio quality.

I'm going to do some stuff from Lost Child, but I doubt I'll do anything else. Our styles are similar, everything of his I'd touch would pretty much just end up being covers, and trying to fill his shoes is hard hehe

A song I don’t know and a new artist to go listen to more of their tracks. If you touch some of their work, I’m sure the rest is great too. Been pointing a bunch of people your way lately man, and you always deliver regardless of how good or just “ok” you think your piece is in your post.
SSH is kinda like me but much better and with a much bigger library of songs to choose from so if you're a fan of my stuff then buckle up 'cause you're in for a helluva ride.
Check out Barrel Roll, Aggressor, Identity obviously, and Raven Down off the top of my head. He's made TONS of other incredible stuff too, but those are freakin' insane songs.

There are so many good tracks. Seething Fighting Spirit, Holy Orders, and Alchemic Blast have stuck with me quite a bit, even as my musical tastes shifted a bit. I still love the whole Summer Vacation Music Festival track.
You can definately feel the love McKnuckle has for this piece. The groovy part at around 5:00 hits hard, but it still doesn't prepare you for the 05:30 solo. Man. You are something McKnuckle. You should be in hollywood or sth like that, or be the lead music producer in a triple-A game company. But please, before being appointed to such demanding position eventually, don't forget to take a look at Shadow of the Beast I, II, and III music and gameplay. They deserve your touch.

Been listening to various S.S.H. compostions on youtube since I got a stable internet connection in 2009. One of the few good constants in life since then. Good to see their work being appreciated by more people

Just like you, this is my favorite S.S.H. song, and wow man... What a good thing that people are even making covers of this song in particular, especially considering that he's not _that_ well-known (at least outside of Japan).
The first time I've heard Identity, i was like "Omg, so this is what I've been missing from all these years?", and from that time onwards, he has been like my "guitar hero" XD; He's one of the principal reasons of why i decided to take a step into the music world, and seeing that there are others that have pretty much the same inspirations is pretty good!
With all that said... Let's just hope that Saitama himself sees this sooner or later; What an amazing job man, really 8)...
As someone who remembers when SSH first released this beastly tune, I have to say, you did a fantastic job of covering it. Would love some other covers of his, but also curious to see if there are other doujinshi you like listening to and may do a cover for. Keep up the great work and kick ass in 2021 and beyond!

Oh snap, man! I love some S.S.H. too; frequently listen to him when I'm doing stuff and his stuff really rocks the house. It's a major plus that you're covering S.S.H. too because I love what you bring to the table, so I know it'll be a great listen. Also, super nice to hear this track at a higher quality. The only thing I didn't like about the O.G. track was the quality and how it sounded so far away/muffled. Great job with the cover though man; really liked how custom opening gave the track a new flavor. The outro you crafted is also a very nice touch. Kind of like a calming after a heavy storm, which is a sweet conclusion, in my opinion.

I don't really know who or what S.S.H. is but Stone McKnuckle never disappoints. Another master piece made by one of the best modern musicians. I bet S.S.H would be very proud of you.
I strongly recommend you check out the original, and anything else made by SSH, 'cause you've clearly been missing out. This really is one of those instances where the end result is due to the strength of the source material.

They're a pretty legendary Heavy Metal musician.
The original isn't "from" anything, it's an original song by S.S.H.

I did make a 4-key chart for Identity way back when, though I don't remember if I finished or released it. You can probably just replace the mp3's 'cause I think the BPM is the same hehe
So the one I'm remembering was a 7~ min version I think. Forgot what pack it was in but you definitely released it. In my opinion, you making music seems to be way more fulfilling than charting songs, so I don't realistically expect you to come back, just a funny jab at a coincidence. Hope you're doin well mang.
