The fact that you used an ocarina along with the guitar was absolutely brilliant. And you have a gorgeous sounding guitar. You could almost say you've made a completely original piece of music with this, I wouldn't even call this a cover, this is truly magnificent. I would pay money for this track in a heartbeat. I'm 32 I was in the 6th grade when Diablo was released for the PC on Windows 95. I'll never forget the first time I saw the trailer for this game when I was playing my Warcraft 2 battle chest, the trailer for the first Diablo was included in it. Needless to say it was revolutionary in the first-of-its-kind that game is a benchmark in PC gaming history it's because of that game that we have so many others. Diablo deserves its place in the video game Hall of Fame. I'll never forget the other dread and anxiety I felt playing this game as a child as I went deeper and deeper into this abyss of horror and Madness. The only reprieve was hitting the town portal back to the demonically oppressed town of Tristram where you kid enjoy the soothing and comforting stories of Deckard Cain change your gear buy items delve deeper into the lure of the game get to know your characters it was the only place you could go to get some modicum of peace before bracing yourself as you plunged back into the darkness to the howling demonic hordes waiting overwhelm, overpower and Crush you leaving you in howling rage knowing that your body and all of your loot was 20 levels beneath the cursed ground and now you must trek all the way back to find it again. How many people remember the anxiety and shock the first time they entered the butcher's chamber to the words are fresh meat and a massive demon twice as tall as you rushing out of the darkness and relentlessly pursuing and hacking at you with his cleaver? This game is a mixture of excitement tactics and endless levels of frustration and rage but ultimate satisfaction when you finally descended to the bottom floor of that nightmarish Abyss with miles of the slain Corpses of your defeated foes above and the Blood Sweat and Tears it took to get there and now the only thing between you and victory is the Lord Of Terror himself Diablo! That victory shout when you landed that final blow and the ultimate satisfaction that you had completed one of the most rewarding quests of your life and just as you turn the game off to celebrate you were left with the growing feeling in the back of your mind that you had brought back something dark within you from that unhallowed ground which begin calling you to an unknown place for an unknown purpose with nothing else except the uncontrollable desire to travel to the East....
It's amazing how this song is still being covered in 2018. It just means it's one of those epics that will stick in the minds of the souls that endured the awakening of the Lord of Terror!
As someone who loves Diablo, and someone with a name derived from the name "Tristram," you have my utmost respect. Bravo, 10/10 would stay awhile and listen again.
The crispness of this song always reminds a legend to be one.... Don't give up or stop.... If you have to smash your way through hell so fucking be it let your first step turn into a leap of faith into life. Ocarina work was the cherry on the cupcake here dude. Amazing cover.

This is pure nostalgia gold. Still one of the best songs, not only in gaming, but ever. This theme alone has so much power, and defines the entire atmosphere of the game. Seriously, I remember hearing this the first time as a kid, and having no idea how the game played, only that was scary, as noted by my friends. So I was really expecting to be attacked by demons in the middle of the town.
As someone who has spent countless hours playing this game as a kid, Tristram village was a tune you heard in your sleep as a comforting yet haunting tune. It's been years since I felt this way when hearing the tune. Thank you Jules, for bringing me back to NOT only the nostalgia for this game, but for some of the goosebumps this game and this tune specifically gave to me. It's been a pleasure watching you grow and improve over the years. Thank you for the hours and hour of entertainment and top-quality music. :)
One thing I admire about Jules is for as many videos as he pumps out, he never half asses anything. Listening from his first cover, each and every one is better than his last regardless of the difficulty. Whether it's improvements in technique (and specifically acoustic playing) or production or adding his own flavor, it's literally always better. He absolutely killed this.
Simply beautiful, man. I have no experience with the Diablo soundtrack, but I can tell how much love you love this track. You gave everything you had, and it paid off in spades.

Matt Uelmen's compositions can be daunting to do them justice... but you kept so much of its haunting essence while empowering it in all the right areas. 2 years later and I'm still convinced this is one of your best arrangements, partially because Diablo 1 and 2 are some of my favourite games of all time. It may be belated, but thank you for all the work you put into this track.
In my opinion one of the most under rated game themes of all time. You just can´t beat the atmosphere the first Diablo had. Best in the series in my opinion.

Good lord that was purely amazing! I’ve always wanted to learn this but there are so many different kinds of tabs for this song and everyone plays it very differently. But this has been the absolute closest I’ve ever heard to the original. The reverb, the reverse sounds, everything was perfect! Thank you SO much for doing this!
Its rare to see a youtube video cut straight to the content without the stupid opening->intro that last for like 3 minutes. You did it perfect. Thank you.
Awesome cover! if you like this kind of music, you could try: Death - Voice of the Soul The 3rd and the Mortal - Death Hymn Opeth - Harvest (or all the Blackwater Park album)
That was one of the most incredible covers I have ever listened to... amazing! I truly felt as though the song was telling me a story--haunting, but calm, cinematic, and free. While listening to the song, (and even though I know little to nothing about music) I could imagine that it took an incredible amount of work
Dunno why, but 5:35 gets me every time. When those shrill high e's come in over that bass and those triple hi-hats, chills. It's such a short part of the song but it just struck me.
Honestly the best version I found, other ones go so heavy metal styled, this one respect the essence of the original one

I heard "Greeting!" in my head...
Elvis I was thinking that too!!
Elvis I heard that, but also I heard Griswold's "What can I do for ya?".
My brain went for a "Stay a while and listen" haha
"I Sense a soul in search of answers"
How have I not seen this!? I’m subscribed and literally look up Tristram every time I’m sitting around a bonfire by myself. This version is fire 🔥
Completely haunting. i love it.
Its rare to see a youtube video cut straight to the content without the stupid opening->intro that last for like 3 minutes. You did it perfect. Thank you.
Awesome cover!
if you like this kind of music, you could try:
Death - Voice of the Soul
The 3rd and the Mortal - Death Hymn
Opeth - Harvest (or all the Blackwater Park album)
The barbarian sits and relax , the archer sharp her arrows, the mage call mystical runes, with this music all began.
war flashbacks to ps1 diablo days and trauma from the first boss - the butcher
"AAARRHGHH FRESH MEAT!"
Then you get his cleaver, and it's meh...
Out of every cover you've done, this is one that I'll never forget. This have me chills and I admitthe beauty of it brought me to tears at times.
So spicyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
That was one of the most incredible covers I have ever listened to... amazing! I truly felt as though the song was telling me a story--haunting, but calm, cinematic, and free. While listening to the song, (and even though I know little to nothing about music) I could imagine that it took an incredible amount of work
Rember casting spells in tristram the mc would say "i cannot cast that here" id walk around and tap it with the song playing lol.
The best diablo cover all the times!
Stellar job dude.
Dunno why, but 5:35 gets me every time. When those shrill high e's come in over that bass and those triple hi-hats, chills. It's such a short part of the song but it just struck me.
About to play some diablo 2
i just started playing d2 b.net again 2 weeks ago.. after.. i dont know.. 8 years+
found a Sur rune on one of my first countess runs :)
WTFidontcare89 I have it on ps2
I especially love how you've done the outro of the song. It's like a melodic interlude out of the song and in to the next..
I'm here to prepare for Diablo II Resurrected.
So many memories from this theme, it is so iconic
