Any ideas on what type of game and what part of that game would best fit this track? I'm thinking about a platformer, maybe like Mega Man X, and I can see this being good for a major level marking the beginning of the end, like the entrance stage to a final castle or something. Other thoughts?

I am a professional programmer analyst. My major focus is in web development, but with my general programming background, I believe that I have a good basis from which to start learning how to make something like that. I fell in love with video games early in life, playing Super Mario Bros. hacks on my family's Commodore 64 in the late 1980's before I even started kindergarten. (I was not a hacker as a toddler; I just had connections ;) ) I was excited about the possibility of making games for a long time, but the broader demand I found after entering the workforce was always in web development, and I had essentially given up on making games for most of my life. When I posted my comment, I was not even thinking about making such a game, myself. I was thinking about a vague "someone" possibly making a game for it, and inviting people to join me in fantasizing about a game I never expected to exist. I do not know how serious you were with the offer in your reply, and I am totally fine if you were just joking, but regardless of your seriousness or lack thereof, something about your message truly lit a fire in my belly! I held my phone, reading and re-reading your reply, my heart beating firmly and my mind racing. It would be so easy for me to just say "I'd love to, but I'm too busy; I have no time to make games; I don't know how, etc.", but I know that the "I have no time" excuse is kinda bullshit when I stayed up until past 2:00 AM last night scrolling endlessly through Internet memes. Also, "I don't know how" is no excuse as nothing is preventing me from learning new skills. In addition to my programming background, my last boss told me that I would make an excellent project manager, so since then I've read "Project Management For Dummies", and several chapters of "A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge", so I have a rudimentary basis from which to start trying to break down and organize a complex project like developing a brand new game, including a lot of early self-education, trial, and error. This would be the first time I had ever put my formal training in project management into actual use. To say what I am about to say at the end of this long reply is a bit scary to me because there are parts of me that are afraid of failure, afraid of trying something new, afraid of disappointing myself and others, but on the other hand, your reply unexpectedly made me feel as though something long dormant had been awakened within me. I will absolutely not ask you to make good on your offer until I have something seriously tangible to offer from my side, something of which I am legitimately proud, something that I feel is worthy. I use FL as well. If you're just starting out just get a bunch of soundfonts and free/cheapo VST's like VOPM, you can make some seriously great sounding stuff using really basic tools.
