    Paid $6,900 for Honda Accord LX 4cyl with 190,000 miles on it in Aug-2023 in San Diego, CA from a dealer. Prices were crazy hight at that time. Seems like a simple good reliable car.

    My grandma just bought a gray 2008 Accord Ex-l with nav and a v6 with 105k miles for $5,500 about 3 weeks ago… Garage kept and a whole stack of service records since new at the local Honda dealer. Detailed quarterly, and a clean title too. One owner. I guess she just got lucky..?

    I aint knockin da hustle but..........at 258k miles, I would have to say that the fairest price would be around $3500, and personally I feel that's being pretty generous to the seller. I myself have a 2008 Honda Accord EX-L that I purchased for $6500 at 74k miles so how can that car go for $5k? Yes, Honda's are long lasting and durable and my car runs just as good as when I first bought it and I'm now at 130k miles!! And for me to get to 250k miles, I wont get there for about another 10yrs. Now don't get me wrong, Honda Accords are incredible cars that are very durable and long lasting but ANY car at that high mileage, once you hit 300k, at that point, your car can potentially turn into a money pit because you're going to have to put money into it to maintain it. So let's do the math here, would you pay $5000 for a car that will probably run for a good 50k miles until you have to pour serious money into it to keep it up?

    • @094340
      @094340 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      How did you find a 2008 Accord (highest trim, 4cylinder) with only 74k on it for $6500.00? That's absolutely impossible. Right now, KBB has that car at roughly $8000.00 (private seller), I'm calling bullshit. And by the way, the car in this vid still prices out at about $6300.00 from a dealer, so you are way off with your $3500.00 estimate.
      I'm looking at a 2009 Accord tomorrow for $6500.00, but it's got 145K on it, and KBB has it right at that number.

    258000 with the honda cylinder deactivation (vcm) system? I guess dealers don't talk about that. What about timing belt changes in that the 3.5 is an interference engine? These are great cars but they have some demons that need to be addressed.

    This is funny. I have an 08 ex-l i4 and I've been thinking about this.
    The thing is though.
    Even if it went up to 15k, I wouldn't sell.
    The changing value of used cars only matters to you if you're buying cars.
    For an ordinary person, you can't just pay people to sell their car, which is essentially what it is.
