@@agoogleuser9025 i have the lightning version. costs $9 at Apple store. It is by far the best deal if you are looking for an adapter because this includes a built in DAC! Why spend over $100 on a DAC adapter when Apple makes one for $9?

Where can I get the zerda lighting cable dongle DAC from. Working on a high resolution audio project and this would feed the signal needed for this project.

I'm using zerda, it's really sounds great, especially the bass and mids are excellent. Highs are perfectly scaled.
Easily sounds better than some mid-fi daps like m0, Ap80, hiby r3 and my tempotech v1-a.

The volume is way to loud. I got the Sundara and they are enjoyable with out blowing your eary off.

Oh , and please get your hands on the Shuoer Tape. I absolutely loving my P1s but the Tapes may be replacing them. Essentially P1 details, with what I feel tonally more correct, and with bigger soundstage and excellent bass extension, and easy to drive. A bit of glare in upper mids/lower treble, and P1s still win in bass slam I think.

For phone use I kind of gave up with dongle DAC/Amp because it drains the phone battery. I'd rather use something that has its own battery like the NX4 DSD. But then you end up with a stack that's too bulky for your pocket, so still not ideal.
Also, how useful is the optical out in practice? I believe a lot of things have USB in these days, and the're a big movement to switch to wireless/BT.

I have the Benefei "Hi Res" USB-C dongle dac for $10 and can confirm it installs and works with Windows 7 with a USB adapter. AND it's a REALLY good DAC for $10. The only problem I have is it tends to stutter slightly, but i think it's actually cleaner than my E10K, with more soundstage. The E10K does get louder though cause it's an actual headphone amp and doesnt stutter, so Id choose the E10K. But I was surprised how good this $10 dongle DAC is.

also, why the hell none of these have like angled or flat connectors? a big thing sticking out of the bottom of a device (creating a lever that essentially always puts pressure on the socket) is mega bad

Depends if you want optical output. If es-100 had optical out Z this would be a video of him throwing every other dongle dac over $70 in the trash. Es-100 much better use of $80-100

got one zerda for 130€ and it stopped working after 6 months. the sound was really good though. hope they could work on their quality control.
Yeah, my experience with FiiO products as well, they just stop working after 6 to 12 months. Was a huge fan but the real solution for modern phone users would be to reject phones without a fucking phone jack.
Ditching Samsung for a Sony/Asus Rog next, they have proper dedicated built-in dac/amp combos in them, these chinese products won't last.
I see many reviews saying the apple dongle is fragile, doesn't work etc. Proceed with caution... hth did they get a dac/amp in there?
fwiw there are few reviews out there which rate most ipad/pod/etc as having great amp dacs internally, without, of course, any ground loops or mains issues as it is battery powered. Not the most powerful things evidently. I can notice "differences" between my iphone 5 and my fiio k5 pro, but with easier-to-drive HPs neither is better for any song....and nooooo I am not an apple fan (no sd cards, really? dictators)

Fiio BTR3 and the ES100 have made these things useless for me. They have liberated me from being attached to my phone.
I'm not going to claim I know a lot about IEM tip manufacturing costs, but on its face, it seems they're way overpriced.

Okay it’s still just a usb-stick with build in dac and headphone amplifier. And doesn’t come close to desktop or most portable Dac/amps Like TEAC, Topping or FiiO, Still waiting for the Monoprice portable THX AAA to be available in Europe. Because I hate to pay import taxes.

Are you telling me and others that an Apple dongle is almost as impressive as a dongle DAC/AMP with two Dac chips inside and the Apple is nothing more than a cable with two different kinds of fittings? Either that product does not work or the way you are hooking it up is wrong. Why not buy or borrow the correct product (Apple anything) and then review it correctly.
