    I bought the Tour X4 around Christmas due to the sale price. Wore it for green Laning and it was a bit too hot even with goggles. It's very well padded. Wore it today on the 790 Duke and it was brilliant. Great for wind noise, good air flow and very comfortable. The peak was brilliant too. Not once did I get head lift from it. Very impressed.

    Another great review video, really well balanced and insightful. Just got the Arai Tour X5 from SportsBikeShop and it is fantastic. Really comfortable fit, very little road noise when riding and looks fantastic. Oh and customer service was excellent 👍🏆

    I've just brought a Shoei Hornet adv from you and its the best helmet I've owned by far. Its light, comfy and the feild of view is brilliant, its been quite windy in Wales this week too and haven't noticed the peak catching wind its been really usful in the sun.

    The Arai X5 is so nice, definitely will be on the shortlist but keen to see what Shoei come out with. The revisions to the Arai really show that the X4 couldn't meet the 22.06 standards.

    Another quality video, thank you. I’m surprised the Schuberth E2 didn’t make it.

      @sportsbikeshop  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A bit of a personal call on that one as I feel an adventure helmet needs to have room for goggles. You can just about squeeze goggles into an E2, but it's not really a practical option. Thanks for the kind comment on the video. Cheers, Tony

    Thanks for the review: informative and quite concise. Having had an Arai RX-7 back in the day of Doohan's first Koala and loving that Helmet back then, I would have bought the Arai but the rather stiff price tag is a bit painful. So, I ended up buying a Nexx X.WRL and I am truly happy with it after only some 2000 kms. I use it mostly on back roads on my daily commuting, though, hardly ever seeing the motorway and higher speeds. Pros: very comfortable, excellent field of view, good ventilation. Cons: no drop-down sun visor (which I occasionally use on my AGV Tour-modular, although the peak on the Nexx is more useful) and I am not to sure (yet to find out) about the durability of the plastic clip-ons of the interior padding. Again, thank you.

    I have Klim Krios Pro. I think the ventilation is marginal at best. My Shoei RF-1400 significantly better.

    As the Shoei VFX-WR helmet seem to have no visual changes other than the graphic options between the ECE 22.05 & ECE 22.06; I would imagine the Shoei Hornet will most likely pass the new testing requirements 🙂
    It would be interesting to know from the Shoei rep what changes IF any have actually been made, it would be a great insight as to how good these helmets were in the first instance.

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wouldn't be at all surprised if the 22.05 Hornet could pass 22.06 unchanged. On timing alone, I would have expected a new Hornet by now - but I guess Shoei have had to delay it to focus on getting the bigger sellers updated for 22.06 first (Neotec 3, GT-Air 3). As for comparison, people who know way more than me have suggested that 22.06 helmets will score at least four stars in SHARP. That's holding out so far as the first four 22.06 helmets tested by SHARP have a 4 or 5-star rating. As well as performance in impact tests, there are other requirements for passing 22.06 that might require an update. For example, sun visors now need to be approved as eye protection and locking switches for modular chinbars have to be red in colour. I think the better 22.05 helmets will be protective enough for 22.06 - and the best way we can tell as consumers is to look for a SHARP rating of four and above. Thanks for getting in touch (and sorry for such a nerdy reply!) Cheers, Tony

      @@sportsbikeshop it might be a nerdy reply, but may also explain why the VFX-WR as an off-road helmet has been put through the test already especially as the whole visor testing isn't applicable.

    The scorpion drop down visor is always fogged up when I want to use it. So much so I was wondering if there was a film I had not removed. All my vents are open. Mega helmet thought.

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've just double-checked the Scorpion specification and the ADF-9000 is listed as having a Speedview visor that's anti-fog coated on both sides. I'd give it a careful clean on both sides with a very clean cloth and plain water then try again. Anti-fog coatings aren't perfect and you may still suffer a bit of misting, and you can also get a mottled appearance on the surface when it's holding moisture to avert misting. But if the whole thing is misting up then there would appear to be an issue, so I'd get in touch with your dealer and ask about a warranty claim as it's not performing as it should. Cheers, Tony

      I get the same with all drop down visors. I'm very breathy by all accounts. I don't buy lids with them now for that reason.

    New to ADV helmets. How good street helmets are they witout the peak? Compare to like a NXR/Quantic. ADV helmets - jack of all trades- master at none?

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They have their strengths - depth of visor view is good, often the mouth vents are very good, and there's more room in front of the mouth thanks to the off-roady shape, which is good for feeling less claustrophobic. This can also mean a bit more draught and potential for noise because of the larger cavity around the chin, so it's a case of deciding what's the biggest priority. I hope that helps. Cheers, Tony
