This happened after clutch was fitted and tracking was out the vw specialist who did the work said just drive 20 miles and it will clear, lol would have been driving for ever if it didn't see this video, 12 years on this video still helping, thanks
Thanks I finally got it off! For you out there the test start when KOER, apply the brake hard, then drive in straight line for about 50 feet, make a turn to the left 90, now the trick make sure the ABS and traction control do not flash at the same time they need to be alternate in order for you to clear this test!
I don't know if you're still active, but that's alot of help already as is. If i understood correctly, is the abs lamp suposed to be flash too? mine is in a static mode but the ESP flashes and then turns off after awhile. I can't seem to clear the test. Or i'm just really stupid.
My ABS with ESP now works perfectly, all lamps gone. It corrected itself long after when I drove a coupe of km. Of course I have a genuine Ross Tech as the pirate crap won’t work anyway. Amen!
Some ABS modules will drop communication at speeds around 20 MPH so that normal ABS functions will work. But some older ABS modules don't drop communication at speeds higher than 20 MPH, but you don't have ABS brakes... as such, a panic stop will result in a skid and 4 very bad flat spots on the tires (I know this first hand).
The the ABS module still has the 01486 code, then it means the test plan has not been carried out correctly. Also, some cars do not require a 35 BAR pressure signal, some systems will start the test just with light brake pedal pressure. So if you drive to an empty parking lot and then start stomping on the pedal, the test plan had already been started and you see no changes in the lights. As long as you only have 10486 or 01487, then keep trying.
what does it mean if when i press the brake pedal the esp does not turn off and the abs turns on ..so both of them are turned on now ,,,on an a4 b8 thanks
08 a3 sportback 2.0t fsi So how am I suppose to perform abs system function test when the car doesn't go into gear due to a bad mechatronic unit? Mechatronic unit has been replaced but will not go into basic settings mode to learn new values because of the implausible signal from abs module which is requesting a system function test which can't be done because the dsg won't go into gear? Driving me crazy
@@hatimmtvlogs1856 I had to activate the test again and do the drive, brake, turn, brake and the test completed and ended on its own. I couldn't find any other way to get the test to deactivate correctly.
I activated this by accident and it would not no matter what I did hours of searching and driving and resetting the test and starting Nope so took it to the garage 20 seconds with there computer turn engine of an don boom gone
With every problem, there's a solution... Just need to find it... Sometimes, it takes a lot of trial and error(learning)... But once the root cause is identified(knowledge gained), one finds great satisfaction in resolving an issue that doesn't require a trip to the stealership(self-sufficiency)... A toyota/lexus or honda/acura, chevy isn't any different, actually given the ease of availability of parts, I would surmise issues are much more prevalent... Had an Acura RL... Super-handling all wheel drive my ass... Imagine your car not starting because of a blown door handle fuse... Heck, even a bicycle has problems... Now, a madza 3? What an unrated beautiful machine of absolute reliability...

@Anturaju93
No, you do not need to be scanning the ABS module when doing this test.
My ABS with ESP now works perfectly, all lamps gone. It corrected itself long after when I drove a coupe of km. Of course I have a genuine Ross Tech as the pirate crap won’t work anyway. Amen!
my pirate version works just great
Just helped me now! Thanks! (2004 GLX 4Mo Passat)

I just did the test, what happens if I left VCDS hooked up while performing the test? Everything seemed to clear out alright. No codes.
does this work for my mk4 golf with ESP? I changed steering rack and now ESP light is always on
do i need vcds plugged in to perform this ?
Hello
There is a test for ESP also ?
I have no lights on dash Ider on the button not even when I turn the light on
Thank you
after driving straight at 20kph, do you come to a stop then make the turn or the car need not stop?
Great tutorial, do as followed properly and you will get it working!
Did these and all was properly working !
Thanks a lot ! 💯🤗
Great I resolved this problem with the help of this video, it took a few tries but I got there at the end. :)
How else do you do test drives??? I thought that was the only way.
If i press the brake pedal and the warning light didn't change?
Any advice
I believe the ABS module in the VCDS will stop working past 20kmph. from my own experience.
I have Desactivate ESP Test Drive without Make test Succsesful. 👍🏻
Care to elaborate? For the rest of the class?
