The missing CARP

Some raw footage of my 2016 campaign chasing a 50-year-old common in a low-stock North Lincolnshire pit. The fish used to reside in the Forgotten Pit (see my spring 2016 blog) before someone moved it last year into this water that contains around a dozen carp. There’s plenty of diary footage, fish playing action and it ends in September when I eventually net one of the oldest northern carp around weighing in at 38lb.

Simon, first well done on the captures. Ive been watching a few of your videos and noticed even when close in your tips are high and line tight to the lead. Is this your way of keeping the line away from the moving fish? I saw a clip when you fished a very small water the tips were the same. Can you tell me your thinking behind high rod tips this please?

Thanks mate. It all depends on the venue I'm fishing. I like to keep as much line out of the water as I can where there are obstructions in the margins. This particular lake is quite shallow with lots of weed close in, so I want my lines away from it as it restricts indication.
