Winter CARP FISHING on a small water

- Small waters are without doubt, the toughest of venues to fish, even more so in the winter. They can be moody with very tricky carp, needing a specific kind of approach. Join me on a short trip to a tiny farm pond in West Yorkshire called Tyersal Hall Fishery. It's the middle of winter, with temperatures below zero, but with the right approach it's still possible to catch carp. I walk you around the lake, talking about the main features and the tactics I use, resulting in a couple of nice carp for the camera. For more information about this venue, contact Reece Lisle on Facebook or Instagram.
I enjoyed watching. Thanks Simon.👍🏻
Happy new year Mark 👍
Hi Simon,
I've watched every video on your channel and they're great, it inspired me to create my own vlog style vids, I've watched many many different anglers vids and your style is my favourite.
Not much waffling just straight to the point, love it.
I'm a northern lad and would 1 day love a tutorial with yourself as your a mega angler.
Tight lines and wet nets mate

Hi Simon, great watch and what stunning carp you caught in a very difficult venue and difficult conditions. Love watching your content, shame it wasn't longer. You seem like a very genuine and all round top bloke. Look forward to the next mate 👍👌
Thanks for the kind words Leo 👍
I like the look of this lake and the fish in it, I should be moving to Yorkshire end of this year would love to look this one up.
Pure quality Crowy as usual, Bostin !! What lovely mirrors ...If i caught 2 fish like that in the Winter i wouldn't go again to the spring !!
cheers Nick

Great wee session. Good advice given. And I’ll definitely be adding it to my log book. Cracking fish buddy
Thanks Danar 👍
Haven't even watched it yet and I'm buzzing for it .finish cooking the roast, wait for me Doris to go for her bath, then open a beer and enjoy 👌
Have a good evening Chris 👍
Top vid fella. Looks a lovely little water. Know a few people who fished here and found it tricky to catch. Top angling as usual. 👍🎣
Cheers pal, all small waters are tough, I had it to myself which will definitely have helped me 👍
Nice 👌. I fished a small lake around that size in the early spring. Everyone views it as a rock hard, stalking water, where 1-2 fish a year is a result, so I did the exact opposite: picked a spot and fed 1/2kg of 25-30mm baits a week, plus another kg spread over the whole lake. Caught 5 of the 11 residents in 7 sessions! My most successful mini campaign ever😝 Lost my head after that, moved venues and had a shocker for the rest of the year 😂😳
Great result Tom, I’m sure you’ll find your ‘head’ again soon 👍
Sorry mate, could not resist it, great tutorial on small waters.
Back when Reece first took it on I used to do alright out of there. Micros on the method and half a wafter on a hair.
Well done pal 👍
Happy new year Simon mega result mate 2 very respectable carp there as u say little lakes can be very tricky sometimes we’ll done 👍🏻
Happy new year Paul 👍

Enjoyed that si 👌what's your advice in January on a 25 acre lake I'm on at the moment it's hard fishing and their hard to find ?its shallow at 1 end and deeper (upto 12 ft )at the deep end ?
If you can’t find them, then you need to draw them to you. Try some liquids 👍
Top man done well mr crow 👏 👍
Cheers pal
Nice work Simon
Thanks Martyn 👍
About to buy the season ticket on this water it’s not far from me the owner is a top bloke
Enjoyed as usual si 👌what would u describe as the best January conditions to be on the pond ..?
Thanks Dave 👍 January is very dependent on weather, same as February mate
Simon brilliant information for fishing in the winter do you use back leads ?
Thanks pal, yeh occasionally I do, mostly when I know there’s no obstructions between me and the rig end because they can reduce the sensitivity of the set up
Fishing this pond soon the fish look stunning
What rigs do you use for your wafter fishing?
I love your dog 🐾
The same rig I use for bottom baits/pop-ups etc, have a look at some of my other films where I go into detail with it 👍
Nice work, brrrrrrrr 🥶😁
Thanks 👍
Simon, question please? Why are the rods pointing skywards, and are the lines slack?
Watch the film mate, it’s explained in there 👍
Nice film Simon.
May I ask which cameras you use for filming ?
Hi mate, I mostly use an old Go Pro 👍
@@SimonCrow thanks Simon keep the vlogs coming
