I think the video shows how much these guys put themselves into each song! Each so talented and together, unforgettable! Listen to "Open Arms" and "Stay Awhile" - "Foolish Heart" will break your heart... "Why Can't This Night Go On Forever" will make you wish this original group were still performing...sigh! Aren't we lucky that we had the chance to know Journey's talent? Keep feeling the music!

Neil Schon is the guitarist. He broke into rock at age 16 when he played rhythm guitar for Santana. Steve Perry is the vocalist. Jonathon Cain on keyboards. Ross Valory on bass and arguably the greatest rock drummer of all time in Steve Smith.
Greatest band in the world. Journey. You're welcome.

This is my favorite all time band from the late 1970's through to the late 1980's with Steve Perry as lead vocalist then. I love his voice so much!!! He left the group due to his health concerning his vocals being affected. Plus he was tired of touring and tensions in the band. The lead vocalist now is Arnel Pineda and he sounds almost exactly like Steve Perry!!! He is from the Philippines and was found by sheer luck!!! Here are some songs to check out...Open Arms, Send Her My Love, Don't Stop Believing and Who's Crying Now. A co-worker met and actually became friends with the band. He said they were great guys! This is my Era of music!!! I am so glad you like it!!! ♥️

Doug, Faithfully is one of Journey's most iconic, beautiful, ballads! But you haven't even begun to discover the magic of Journey with Steve Perry. His vocals will blow your mind. If you love, love songs 💞 listen to "When You Love a Woman". The vocals, guitar and piano are pure chemistry, "Why Can't This Night Go on Forever", "I'll Be Alright With Out You" Live from Tokyo, 1983. Your audience will tell you Steve Perry is unbelievably better Live in concert versions, than studio recordings and it's true. He simply has a stunning vocal range. You'll never want to listen to what's out there today! Peace 🕊️

Not corny at all. What most people don’t realize is that human beings naturally gravitate to goodness.
People want those things which are good, noble and praiseworthy.
You should want to know what it feels like to love this way. Everyone should!
It would be tragic to come to this world and live a lifetime… and never feel this way.
“…we need to earn what lovers own!”

I grew up in a huge military family and this song is very popular among military vets.
My father would be gone months at a time, sometimes years, yet my mother was always here for him and they still have a great marriage after 37 years.
This song reminds me of their love.
Also it's not corny to love love. Although I grew up in a military family I also grew up in a gang neighborhood in San Antonio and was a gang member myself until my daughter was born.
Trust me even the hardest gang bangers listen to songs like this, even if they won't admit it 🤣

For any couple who deal with one of them leaving to support the family knows this pain and ecstasy. My husband is an OTR truck driver and even after 25 years of him driving, I still weep after he leaves, but I never let him see it. I would never hurt his heart by letting him see a single tear in my eyes. My last words are always, "Be safe and come home to me because I love you."

Doug.....you are my kind of guy....appreciate your honesty in relating so much to the songs that created an era like no other.....Steve Perry (the Original Journey).....words cannot describe the talent that he and the Original Journey had.....he was so much a vital part of that era......the 70's and early 80's........no synchronization......no manufactured music.....just pure, raw talent. I don't know what else you have heard of Journey's many phenomenal songs...check out "Don't Stop Believing" from 1981 tour concert in Houston.....as well as Separate Ways from Tokyo....just pull up all the live performances.
Check out some of my other favorites....
Eagles......any song they sing, lol......particularly the 1984 "Hell Freezes Over" live performance.......
Bruce Springsteen....... my particular favorite is "Born to Run"......music video from 1975.....this was performed in up state New York.....near where Woodstock was held back in the 60's.
Bee Gees.......anything of theirs......Stayin' Alive.....just look up their #1's...they had #1 songs in 5 consecutive decades......Stayin' Alive was written for the movie "Saturday Night Fever" in 1977....the movie that launched John Travolta's career....the song that brought Disco alive.........
There are SO MANY amazing bands to check out during the 70's and early to mid 80's.....no other music like it.
    Have fun!!!

I know I am late to the party, but I appreciate your vulnerability. Never be shy about expressing your love for love. It is the height of all human emotions and something none of us can live without. "all conditions in life stem from love. Either the lack of or abundance of it." I always remember that. And no ones life is complete without hearing Steve Perry belt this song out. I grew up listening to them. My mother was obsessed with them, and saw them many times in concert. Jealous that she got to see them and hear Steve Perry sing live is an understatement. I'm soo glad you loved this song. And I hope you continued to find more songs by them that touched you just as deeply.

Back in the day, you made it on talent !!!! You had to be able to make people feel what you were saying. To make people feel ìt even in the music. It all had to come together. That is what makes a hit. There was no auto tune . And live was just that LIVE. If you wanted to destroy your career, fake it and lip sink to a tape so you can dance .

Your fun. Yes I saw Journey live in 1979 when I was 14, in Oakland. Great band, but Steve Perry is one of the best singers in popular music history. Super soulful live. Try "The Girl Can't Help It" official video, which is a live performance. Also "Don't Stop Believing" the live in Huston 1981 concert video. So many great songs. Just go down that rabbit hole, you won't be sorry. Much love from California.

Journey is just as amazing live as in this music video. Check out sone of the videos from their Escape Tour Live in Houston 1981. It's an awesome experience.
Favorites are Open Arms and Don't Stop Believing as well as this one.

It’s so great to see someone so young appreciate “my” music. I got to see Journey 10 times at least. Memories made and cherished.

Doug, this group is my all time favorite. Steve Perry sings with so much emotion that you believe every word he’s singing is coming straight from his heart. Journey’s song make me cry all the time. You MUST check out their song “Send Her My Love”. That songs brings me to me knees every time I hear it!!! Steve Perry had THE best voice. No such thing as auto tune back then. Just pure talent. Again… check out “Send Her My Love”

I feel you! I love Love, too. It's a beautiful thing! I love when a song moves me! I was in my teens and twenties during Journey's peak, and it was an incredible time for music, and I am grateful for the lifetime of memories evoked from that great music. Steve Perry's voice was arguably the best of our lifetime. Thank you for the wonderful reaction!

P.S. EVERY. SINGLE. THING. they’ve ever done is beyond pure raw talent & magic🥰- if you’d like to be blown away, & in a different way even than you were with ‘Faithfully’, PLEASE🙏🙏 watch & react to the live performance in Houston, 1981, of ‘Mother, Father’… HOLY JESUS😳🌹😅
