Awesome job on the stove Mrs. Brenda! I really do apricate it for sure! I don't have it installed all the way in the house yet, but I will be doing a video on me finishing out seasoning it, and installing for this winter for sure! Y'all are awesome, and thank y'all so much agian!
I love these vintage style stoves. Reminds me of my gramma’s stove back in Oklahoma. I managed to find a vintage coal or wood stove for my farmhouse when I remodeled.
Hi Brenda, I just subbed to your channel. We were on the RidgeLife live earlier! I grew up in Missouri, sure do miss the country life. Makes sense to season the stove like a skillet! I'll be watching some more of your videos!
This is so awesome! We find a lot of old stoves, but never buy them because it seems the inside floor is always burned/rusted out. Which is a shame. You did a great job!
This is some info I needed. That is a nice stove. Wish I could find one but they just don't show up on the used market. People are starting to realize the value of a food wood burner.
You did a great job on that old stove. I have not seen your videos in a while, but I saw your comment on my video, so came over to see you. I am subbed, and hit the bell. I do not know why you have not popped up on my feeds, so I will make a point to keep in touch.
If it's a stove like this one that I bought then yes I start a fire in it outside, just because they do smoke a little and it's just easier that way. But my stoves that are already in the house I just open the doors and windows to ventilate any smoke out of the house. Thank you for watching.
🍇🍷🍺 Interesting project! We want a wood burning stove for a second kitchen that is off our patio so we can use it when we grill & on occasion but primarily if something goes wrong we are good to go! Like Button 👍 Smashed #54 🍇🍷Cheers 🍻🍷🍷
@@Duncan1900Homestead I live inside the city limits (it wasn't when we bought the house) and I eventually wanted to add either a fireplace or a wood stove but now I just want to move onto a piece of land that is outside of city limits that gives me the ability to do more gardening/raising animals, etc.
@@MakingLemonadeFromLemons We lived in town for 14 years. I had a friend out of town that let me make a garden at their place. I hated living in town, and I am so thankful we live out in the country now. But it does come with it's own challenges.
@@Duncan1900Homestead oh definitely. My parents live not far from us and they have about 6 acres. One has been given to my sister. We wanted to move onto the property but we couldn't get a builder's loan for the land. I just container garden right now and help my parents with theirs.
@@MakingLemonadeFromLemons I have a few large gardens, but the last two years I have been planting in large containers in my back yard. I would love to revamp my gardens this fall and put in all raised beds. but I need them to be at least 3 foot high. It will be a lot of work. but when they are finish it will make gardening a whole lot easier.
Great job and thanks for sharing. Can you use stove polish in the house? Just wondering if you had to touch up a stove already installed how that would work
Yes you can, but make sure you buff it out well. I just use lard to season my stove every year. I just used the stove polish because I had to sand down and redo the whole stove. If just want to do a few small spots. You can buy the polish or I would just use lard and put a good hot fire in it. Beware it will smoke some so open a door or window to ventilated the smoked out of the house.
Would you recommend this product for a wood cook stove with an oven? I just bought one and would like to restore it looking new again. Should I also paint under the burners with this product?
I use it on my kitchen wood cook stove all the time. I wouldn't paint under the burners unless they are badly rusted, because suit will build there anyway once you start burning wood in it.
@Duncan1900Homestead so I should clean that regularly then. Is there anywhere else that I need to pay close attention to? I know nothing and this all will be a learning experience.
@@mamawlife7852 I clean mine real good and season it when I'm done using it in the spring, then I do it again in the fall before using it again. Other than that the main thing is pay attention to the seams and make sure it doesn't have any cracks in it.
Thank you for the video! I am starting to restore a very similar wood stove that I bought last weekend. Is the product you use more of a paint or does it also neutralize the rust? I've scrubbed mine down with a wire brush and wire wheel on my cordless. My plan is to use Metal Rescue Gel to eat the rust, then season.
Alot of elbow grease, and a now a great stove. I noticed, I never heard from your channel. You guessed it, notification bell turned off. Now, i will receive yours. Hopefully
You worked real hard that old stove and made it look brand new. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Would the high heat spray paint work as well?
No, It will put off fumes and I really wouldn't use it on a stove I intended to cook on.

It is a restorer and is an oil base so yes it neutralizes the rust and restores the finish. It is made specifically for cast iron stoves.
Keep that beauty. Because the epa has new requirements which are stupid and ridiculous
We bought this one for a friend. But I have 3 wood burning stoves in my house including a wood cook stove in my kitchen.
That was a lot work!! I learned something 🤗 I assumed you just spray painted them... 🤣 this is Jerriath not Todd 😉
Jerriath I have 3 wood stoves in my house. Two are just for heating and the third one is a Wood Cook Stove in my kitchen that I cook on in the winter.

That stove looks familiar. Like I have seen it before. Maybe picked it up and moved it around for some one.
Lol, yea you mat have to go help him install it.
Amazing video, really like that.

You don't have to scrub and brush all that! Just build a fire in it. It'll burn right off

You did not say what the product was... it looks like black paint to me...
