Cleaning & Oiling a Cast Iron Wood Stove

Today, I cleaned our Antique Enterprise Wood Cook Range! I also cleaned a lot of our Cast Iron Cookware.
The final touch was to add “Oil” to our Wood Stove Top and to all our CI cookware!

Great job keeping that old stove looking good and in working order👍 But I have a question. Why did you leave the soap on the cook ware when you oiled them❓

The soap was just a mild Dawn detergent! My garage was quit hot at the time and most of the soap disappeared! It did not interfere with the laying on the oil.

It will a little but it is important to do this. Same as Cast Iron Cookware. Stay away from animal oil though.
