I love the setting, music, and visual style! Obviously going to play the story, but I’m looking forward to the multiplayer most!
I think the artsytle is so cool the background's are more like artbook paintings . I'm a big story gamer so that will always be most special to me but I really love the co-cop the best in this game.
I’ve played the mobile game for nigh on 7 years now, and been looking forward to this since it was first announced (how long ago was that, like 5 years now?)
Watching it go through development hell, seeing platinum games leave the project 18 months in or so, to finally see the game release - especially as polished as it looks - is amazing.
And from what I’ve been able to tell, the general response to “has the wait been worth it” has been “yeah, it has”.
February cannot come soon enough.
How do you find the mobile game? One thing I really like is the series director actually left Platinum games to Cygames to continue work on it. Which is super important so the direction of the game stayed on track.
Game is hell of fun, you’ll be in for a great time.
The mobile game is your fairly typical gacha experience, there’s a lot of story and character development in there as well as a ton of characters that won’t make an appearance in relink - same with any live service that’s been in operation for some time though, it does have a *lot* of systems and a *lot* to learn (big shoutout to the wiki, one of the most comprehensive I’ve ever seen). Worth giving a go if you have a bit of spare time and feel like it’d be your kind of thing, especially since it’s fully translated into English alongside the Japanese (so we all get content at the same time) and can be played on a web browser (which also means graphics are lightweight).
One neat thing is that the endgame boss the devs fought (Radis Whitewyrm) is actually a recognisable entity from the mobile game, so there some super interesting implications for those of us invested in the full experience.
If playing the mobile game isn’t your thing, the anime should cover enough initial details about the base crew members to give you the gist of the story, or you can play relink organically with no other info - it should still work very well as a standalone game.
@@ArcanumSymphonis Radis Whitewyrm was a crazy boss, theres lots of characters who are not main story characters that you get to play as in Quest. I did ask if theres gonna be more DLC characters from GranBlue universe but was told we'll find our closer to release.

That’s what really impressed me how you can jump in with randoms or NPCs and mo😢 struggle.
Not being able to do story co-op mode is understandable.

3:33 already shows they might have added weapons in the mobile game in relink. Man I hope they added some secret powerful weapons. Maybe hunt an Ixaba for Naru or something.
Yeah weapons are crazy and although you don't get amour, theres so many weapons and weapon skins int he game.

I'm really looking forward to this game, but I do not like the multiplayer functioning for quests only. This was an annoying process for Monster Hunter as well. I prefer something akin to what Destiny does. When you go to an area you bring your friends with you, pvp, pve, or tower (town).
Honestly I assumed they’d do it like Avatar with the story in co-op but we don’t know the direction of the story plus I think co-op with the story would make it so much easier and would probably like 10hrs

I think there’s so much going on, on screen that the PS4 would burn up if it had split screen. As the console has to render double the data.

No cross play between PS5 and PC but cross play does work between PS5 and PS4
I've been watching almost every GBFR video I came across and each time it only made me love the game even more. But, there is one thing I'm not a fan of, it's the UI. I hope there's a setting where we can change the scale, make it smaller, or remove some things, or make it completely gone just to make it more cinematic or immersive. Bcs the current UI shows too much info on the screen, not really a fan of that tbh, this is just my preferance tho.
There is ALOT of UI on screen but honestly after playing Xenoblade Chronicles this isn’t that bad and honestly it wasn’t jarring to me but the less UI you can get on screen the better 100% agree.

Shame there is no co op story ,my friends dont like monster hunter style random quest ,so i think i wont be able to get them to buy this ,so i think i will pass this too .I was so looking forward to this😢
We got a discord of cool gamers who will be jumping in, so if you wanna find some people to play co-op with we here but I think jacking co-op story would make the story mission a little too easy I guess.
@MrMidasGames so the game should adjust to the number of player by adding difficulty. I might be able to get some friends to play this game but will be difficulty to see them buying it since the story is not co-op. Having the option would still be nice
I seen so sites say u can play the multiplayer single player offline also not just single player story offline
At the preview event the devs explained multiplayer co-op is only available no story Co-op so not sure what if you seen but that what we was told by the game director.

It looks a lot like Sword Art Online except for you can't do story co op...
Combat more reminds me off Tales of Arise but with each character feeling very different.
Well I think each character plays the way different and even have different skill trees for which weapon they use in Sword Art Online and I like the weapon upgrade system because you can level up each weapon you use in Sword Art Online there are many different weapons for each category available on the game and you can level each one I think up 2 to + 4 or + 5
I don't know what that feature will be in this game either
I hate the story isn't co-op
A lot of people will be upset about that, I think maybe the story be to east in co-op but not sure why they decided that.

Nah I think that all the end game quest will be available and unlocked once you complete the easier quest, currently I don't think there is any plans on timely quest. Limited time quest. They will be adding more DLC quest though.

I loved the game. Let me say. Ive been thinking. If we would to fight bosses. Like id for example. I was fighting against id. That felt Kool. Do u guys think it would be fun to fight against other players or nah. I love coop games but also love pvp in games. Not that this game needs it. But it would be fun to fight other teams of 4 vs 4. And rank up. I don't know bro. I would be playing pvp alot if it was in this game.

No Co-Op story is a miss, kinda a deal breaker for myself.
I hear you, most JRPGs though with party memebers never have Co-op so i'm super excited to have co-op to do the side quests.

All the co-op is PVE, so In terms of matching making, putting you with players online at a similar character stat level they said yes but also you can bring your own friends who’re low levels to carry them.
@MrMidasGames oh, thank goodness. All the videos I watched made it seem like it was one of those games where you couldn't matchmake, so I was afraid you NEEDED friends to play co op or you had to play by yourself
Wait with Co-op are we all just the same character with the same moves just kind of doing the exact same thing?
No every character different from what I played, mages and melee are completely different.
As someone who exclusively plays coop games, it worries me a bit that the story parts cant be completed coop. Is there a way to skip the story and only do the coop and endgame bits? I really couldnt care less about singleplayer and story content. The game looks interresting otherwise, but i wont be getting it if i have to go through (and get my coop mates to do the same) several hours of singleplayer stuff inbetween. Monster Hunter World was already bad enough in that aspect, as it constantly interrupted the experience with solo fights. Yikes.

It's a pity that side quests are just battles without any kind of side stories . I wish the game was single player only with more interesting side quests. As always, online features taking away stuff from a quality single player mode.

You can play co-op missions not co-op story. Still co-op just not the story.

I am all about multi player and achieving a common goal and content with an actual purpose in the endgame
Listen you didn't even add Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Persona 3 Reload or any surprise announcements at the Game Awards but honestly out of everything you mentioned this has the most exciting multiplayer for me.

Did they give release dates for Chrono Odyssey, Blue Protocol and Throne & Liberty? I didn't see anything anywhere with them conflicting with January/February game releases.

There is going to be >20 button on the screen if they try to port it to mobile and not force the player to use joystick.
You will understand even a high quality action game for mobile will not have that many buttons on screen.
They already have a mobile series, I don't think this will come to mobile unfortunately
