I wanted to wait a couple of days before leaving a comment because I really needed to take my time with this record and sink my teeth into it, as it were. I read an article days before it dropped where they stated that it was Allegaeon's most "violent" record to date, and that it was, among other things, also very cathartic, a medium through which some of the band members were able to channel certain feelings. Processing loss and personal tragedies, for example. Apoptosis dropped in 2019 (that's when I discovered; I worked my way backwards from there), right after my mom was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I became her full-time caregiver, and that experience changed me (as it should). I lost her in july 2020, and the album was on constant rotation in my playlists. It's somewhat ironic that the title of the album comes from the process of cell death, something my mother's cells forgot how to do. Flash forward two years after that devastating event and this band drops an album that, and I'm not exaggerating here, blew my mind over and over. A barrage of calculated brutality that I'm thoroughly enjoying. I do hope that crafting this record and revisiting those painful moments helped the band members process all those emotions and ultimately heal, or take steps towards healing. The closing track moved me to tears, because it captures a very specific feeling, a moment even. And that's so goddamn hard. Only heartfelt poetry does that. And I think it's my favorite track in the entire record. Thank you, Allegaeon. Thank you, Metal Blade. I love you all.
this comment means so much to me, man. I can't really put into words how special it is that our music and my words touched you in such a profound way. I'm so sorry for your loss but I'm so grateful to have been a part of something that was so moving to you. Thank you so much.

This is amazing, very unique and definitely one of the best albums I've ever heard, I need more music like this. The Dopamine Void and To Carry My Grief Through Torpor And Silence fascinate me, I absolutely love this album.
Tried to recall the whole day what this album reminds me except of Opeth and Pictura. And finally realized that somewhere is looks very alike Son of Aurelius (second album). It's the compliment for sure. And I recommend to check Son if you didn't heard of it (very underrated).
the freaking galloping riffs on Saturnine are killer.......hands down one of the best songs these guys ever wrote. It will be hard to top this for AOTY. Kudos Allegaeon
Absolutely masterful album! I don't have the words: brutal, melodic, stirring and cathartic all at once. "Saturnine" is a masterpiece which achieves (for me) the feat of being brutal and emotional at the same time, moving me to tears. Great lyrics too: poetic, evocative, meaningful and open to interpretation. Congratulations to Allegaeon for this fantastic opus. WHAT A FUCKING RUSH! One of the best metal albums EVER.
This album is probably my AOTY and we're only on March. The only band I can see getting it from them would be Meshuggah since they're my favorite band. Called home is just ridiculous and the mid section in Blight might be already one of the finest pieces I've ever heard.

I’m so sad about the vocalist leaving, because this album is soooo goooooood. And his contributions here are incredible.
You can barely hear him when he's not layered over 3 times what do you mean lmao
@@__-be1gk He's buried a bit when he sings clean, yeah, but I hear him enough to know that he was a huge part of what makes this album so great.
Dont be sad, Ezra is coming back ( the previous vocalist form the first 3 albums
I hope he comes back in good from@@hellcyte5259

Such good production. 📈
Oh Man I can Dig for this New Album love it That.
This is amazing, very unique and definitely one of the best albums I've ever heard, I need more music like this. The Dopamine Void and To Carry My Grief Through Torpor And Silence fascinate me, I absolutely love this album.
very Opethy. Especially Called home reminded me a lot of a specific opeth song, so much that I think they actually reused a part of it.

As usual, it's a masterpiece. The song n°4 is pure genius.
It took a few listens, end to end, to truly appreciate this album. I've been a fan since I first heard The God Particle back in 2010. Ive loved everything they've done, and Apoptosis was such a fuckin masterpiece, and now they have topped it. This album is incredible.
Best way I can word my thoughts, a beautifully brutal album. 🤘🔥🤘
Each song is better than the other... This album is the first album ever to make me fall in love with all its songs from the first time! Amazing composition, mixing and quality, you can almost taste their deliciousness haha! 💕
Wow...just wow...so good
Finally. This surely must elevate Allegaeon to the recognition-sphere.... or maybe they have to wait until they make another masterpiece and just continue to be my(and some other fortunate) selfishly/greedily Hiden secret. Them and Archspire are out of everyone's league.
This is the 3rd masterpiece in a row
Allegaeon, Archspire, First Fragment and Cytotoxin are out of everyone's league.
@@LuciusVulpes first fragment legit redefined the genre recently..
@@LuciusVulpes I would throw Inferi in there too with the release of Vile Genesis! Tech death has pumping out some serious monsters lately!
Impresionante! Sin desperdicio alguno! Que gratisima sorpresa. Entre mis favoritos del 2022. Salud y metal! Que gran trabajo de los norteaméricanos!
A Masterpiece \m/
I can't decide between "Called Home" and "Vermin". I mean the entire thing is amazing, but, those two...
Really liking saturnine too
