I have seen In Flames in 1996 in a very small club in Germany. They weren't even Headliners, they opened for Atrocity. Got my first tinnitus on this evening.
I missed them when they were in my town some years back. I was PISSED. Never seen them live even though they've been one of my favourite bands since I was like 12 and my undisputed favourite from when I was 12 to maybe 20. Listened to this album several times every single day half a lifetime ago, when I was 16, now 32.
Ah. The soundtrack of my teenage years. This album was my companion in some of the darkest years of my life so far. I used to think that those songs describe my internal life and struggles. Even though almost 10 years have passed since that time, this period still defines a big part of me. I would even say that my personality was shaped then and there. This is the truth, for good and for worse. Listening to this again makes the memories come back. Although I try not to live in the past like I used to. Okay, I wish the best for whoever listens to this too.
I remember back then, about 15years ago when i was 18 and suffering from depression. The Chosen pessimist was helping me so much at these hard times. What a track, still touches my soul so hard
The first 5 songs are kind of okay, but starting from Delights and Anger the albums gets even better all the way to the last song! The Chosen Pessimist is such a jewel!
One of the first metal cds I ever bought, and it's easily still one of my favorite pieces of music. It definitely takes me back to 2008 whenever I hear a song from it.
It’s amazing to see how many of us were hit so hard by this album when we were teenagers in the late 2000s. During those late nights in the bedroom all alone. This was it.
One of my five favorite albums from them. The Foregone has made that list. thank you for decades of outstanding music. Along with bands like Iron maiden and Sabaton… You’ve gotten me through some tough times.
I love this album, even when some of the songs reminds me some of my painfull experiences, but in the way to take all pain out. Fuking love this band!!!
Thats fuckin amazing theres comments from less than 24 hours ago here... Just about any In Flames takes me back to wayyyy simpler times in life,, i love these guys
I'm pretty sure I've made my neighbors learn this album. I play this when I pull heads to set my pace and now even all the techs at the shop I work at know it. Love seeing my 66yr old boss rockin his head to it.
First time I caught In Flames live, A Sense of Purpose came out and seeing Bjorne and Jesper, who are some of my biggest inspirations even to this day, at the first live show I've been to was amazing and will always be one of the best memories of my life. Now get to catch them at the end of November in Edmonton, cannot wait!
These additional tracks mean a lot to me and I think that they are the better tracks on the album. Erased has such a catchy chorus, Tilt's main riff is one of my favourites and Abnegnation (being my favorite track on the album) is one of the most emotional songs of In Flames 's catalog.
Wtf. I started listening to this every day 3 days ago while playing Xbox for no known reason. I still have it stuck in my head so I searched it on TH-cam and they uploaded this 3 days ago lol?
Synchronicities can often affirm successful, productive progress and foresight. No need to think *too* much of it, I would just suggest that you keep doing what you're doing.😉
@@legoaxel8695the quiet place is the song that made me aware of In flames. I later went on to appreciate the early melodeath releases a ton, but these more clean releases have alot to offer as well
@@legoaxel8695 yup, most people barely remember the tracks after track 6 which is My Sweet Shadow. The problem I have with it as much as I love the album, is that yeah, the songs after I would say Evil In A Closet which is track 7, are nearly too similar, like, you can play them without any ending to each of them and it sounds like 1 long track from In Search Of I until Discover Me Like Emptiness which even is a bonus track. They sound too samey, and I say this as someone who loves Superhero Of The Computer Rage as my favorite track off this album, with Borders And Shading being a close second for me.
Wow. My first time ever listening to this album. FML ! How did I miss these guys??? I've heard of them of course and seen them live at festivals and shows. I grew up on Pantera, Sepultura, Slayer, Machinehead, Fear Factory and stuff and never got into IN Flames! This album is amazing. I want more!!!!!! What is my next IN Flames album to listen to???
They had a more metalcore style originally, like 20 years ago (fuck, that feels surreal to type lol💀) just look them up, and if you like those then man, is there a whole other world out there for thine eardrums
Tilt is a fcking perfect song , the melody is so beatiful and the lyrics. My favorite track with Sleepless Again. I mean there is no favorite track all are absolutly perfect
This is the album that brought me to In Flames, love this album it's got so many memories involved in this album for me... At the time of me listening to this constantly I was going through my motorcycle test (highway code, hazard test, theory, the whole thing) this album was playing in some way or another while I was learning for my tests... So this album always reminds me of motorbikes which will also be a good thing 🤘😊 @inflames
This album and berserk from Miura saved my teenagehood

In Flames We Trust - From Colombia.
How did I completely forget about these guys until just now?
Welcome back! We've missed you! :)
@@SFox63
I had a lapse in listening to metal recently, but returning now and these are the first guys I went to. Legendary
It's simple. They haven't given a reason to remember them for like 18 years....Until Foregone came out at least.
Even better than I remember it all those years ago
The first 5 songs are kind of okay, but starting from Delights and Anger the albums gets even better all the way to the last song! The Chosen Pessimist is such a jewel!
Just lost someone dear to me!! This hits harder than ever…
😢... can believe so... take care!
Stay strong, comrade ✊👀you got this
Listening again. My cuzzos memorial is this weekend. Funny how I gravitate to this album just ahead of his memorial.
Indisputable soundtrack of our teenagehood. This brings back so maaany memories! 🥲
That verse riff in "Disconnected" is exquisite
My favorite album, even after 15 years. No othre disc has been played not even close amounts of times as this album.
Not gonna say it's In Flames' best album, but it is for sure my favourite!
Huge bonus for including the last three tracks on this. Those of some of three best B-sides that have ever been released.
I honestly prefer their metalcore material, so sense of purpose does it for me
One of the first metal cds I ever bought, and it's easily still one of my favorite pieces of music.
It definitely takes me back to 2008 whenever I hear a song from it.
i never thought this would become my favorite In Flames album of all time
It’s amazing to see how many of us were hit so hard by this album when we were teenagers in the late 2000s. During those late nights in the bedroom all alone. This was it.
This album saved lives, I’ve read about it from many, many people.
I love this band
True
Should say "saves", did for me like 8 years ago, but I believe it still does for those who recently found this particular album.
This album is reason why i am positive man today =D! In flames we trust 4ever!😎🤘
Definitely my favorite album ❤🔥
Me too 🎉
..true as F🎉CK!

This soundtrack and come come clarity are the best without a doubt
Listen to The Jesters Race

In Flames best album! Foregone or Reroute to remain come in a close second. This album scratches that itch for metal!
🤮
Daniel's drumming ❤
It's on point! He's always been a great drummer but this album has some of my favourite drums ever.
@@erikkarlsson9192 Exactly 😌

My favorite in flames album! I pre ordered the new shirt with this album art on it :D

Love everyone involved in making this one!

I miss this In Flames, so raw and vigorous, the condemned riff makes my skin crawl
Coz Jesper is the main song writer
Some of In Flames' best stuff right here ❤

Easily In Flames most underrated album, fucking love this
It's a great album, but most underrated I can't agree on. For me their most underrated is Soundtrack to your escape
@@legoaxel8695 Fair enough, that album is very much slept on a ton

37:37 in case anyone wants to jump ahead to Condemned. ^_^
I JUST discovered this band, it scratches that itch
I really like this album, its very enjoyable and in my opinion all its tracks are really good.
The chosen pessimist is one of their best songs ever. Very strong album!
A Sense Of Purpose is a great and enjoyable album. This one and Sounds Of A Playground Fading are in my top 10 melodic death metal works.
