I have been telling people this thing is really good and basically to my preference more than any iem I own. I have aful p5, p8, Top, Chopin, Hype 2, pa02, s12 pro, oh10, ea500lm, ea1000, em6l, Nova, doscinco, cincotres, uhm can't think of more but you get the point. I reach for this like 60% of the time
@CesarGonzalez-mx7su it is very bassy almost muddy sounding in comparison. I like it for some music, HBB was righ though cincotres is better but it almost lacks bass compared to the Hype 4 so it is kinda in the middle of the 2.
@@donth826 Yeah. I think your comparison is very accurate. I found this sound test th-cam.com/video/GcMj7y104hQ/w-d-xo.html and it proves you right. Especially in the second song, what you mention is quite noticeable.
I enjoyed listening to the Hype 4 borrowing it from someone. The Energy is a bit much for me and the cymbals are a bit forward but otherwise its a really fun set that mimics the monarchs without paying as much.
I recently purchased a set of Hype 2 a month or so ago. I've been very happy with my purchase. The bass and treble are elevated to the limits of my preferences. The mids are clean, but maybe a little less pinna gain and they'd be perfect for me. I'm not a huge fan of Harman tunings, but the Hype 2 is sort of an exception for me.
I sold my Xenns Top recently. The bass was a bit overbearing. I also own the Monarch Mk3 and though many graphs online show them to have a nearly identical bass shelf, I don't feel like the Monarch has excessive amounts of bass.
I love this set i think this is what worthwhile upgrading from the 100$ iems truely shows the improvement, What is like compared to moondrop varations, Dunu sa6 mk2, Xens tops their competitors around that range?
I think this is best in class at around 400, and better than many set that I’ve heard in the higher region. It has a great balance and I encourage you to try it if can.
Was on the fence, when asking for these [ had ordered somt ikko ohs10s mirages , but were taking too long on the airmail ] and there was alot of hype [ batummmps ] around the 4, including the seller informing me, that they sounded almost like the hype 10s and mk3, but 20% less the cost. im so glad ive decided to just go for these and never looked back. [ Bought a pair of aful P5, sounded fantastic ] but the H4 pushed the details and sound stage further when paired with good DACs for those who can afford, just jump to the MK3s , i made the blunder of holding back and [ not regretting hype 4] but rather could have been much nicer with the addition of ESTs P.s i dont recall where or who, but someone on another channel, hand recommend DUNU SS eartips, and boy they worked like a charm
@@Jaytiss i do, just wanted them to be the [ end game ] IEM but, i would say Monarch would be my end game for real ] just random rant, but some folks who are saying Shure and Sennheiser are wayyyy better, apparently forgotten that , dropping a G worth of money, it better have good comfort and or accessorries or QC. Wonder when the monarch mark4 might come lol
The fun factor on this set is great, and its also quite technically capable for gaming and such. Doscinco is also fantastic, but missing a bit of the extension and closer to a typical $200 set, just tuned for tons of fun.
agreed, the Mega5EST is vanilla, mundane and an everage implementattion of EST's. The IO Audio VOLARE and SoundRhyme DTE900 are significantly more vibrant, engaging, musical and versatile across multi-genres.
I appreciate you sharing this. Some people have said burn in is a myth. What you did is legit. Earlier this year I burned in my Simgot EM6Ls for weeks while I was sleeping. the sound quality of those did improve after using burn in tracks at 50% and many hours.
I had to cancel my dusk order to replace my only 4yr old sony tv, they dont make em like they used to. lol I did jhust recieve my hype 4 though, so this makes me feel better, plus now I have an oled lol.
Would you say that the graphs only show the "quantity" of bass, treble etc. but not really the quality? I listened to a few sound demos on Dan's audio reviews, I find the hype 4, Xenns Top, Dunu SA6 very similar sounding but for some reason, the Oracle 2 which graphs almost similarly has a "thumpier, faster bass" and a much more revealing mids and upper mids
That's a big question. Right now my theory is this. The graphs tell you a major story, but there isn't perfect. There are a lot of things that the 711 coupler doesn't pick up so the 10-20k region are still important. A lot depends on the fit and the style of the iem in your ear. So fit is 25%, Graphs are 50%, and 25% of that higher trebble region not seen on most graphs. Lots of errors tips, human sizing and preference. Thus it's a crazy hobby.
To comment on DAC pairing : ive tested with Questyle m15 and now my favourite [ Creative SoundBlaster X1 ] , those DAC paired with Hype 4 sound heavenly, which is why , on my response to on of jaytiss comments, i would rather people fork out more , get the Mark 3 end game Monarchs , if you're shelling so much, might as well go all the way with great reviews from all around the forums and youtube scene, alas family and life hits, ive to save up for the MK 3s or 4s [ if they're coming out ] Thieaudio's release of the hype2 is really misplaced, but understandable for those who are cash strap, or tight on budget, however, saving up for these hype4s are well worth over the 2s, which i think Bad Guy audio ? says it well, why did thieaudio bother with the hype2, just get installments on hype 4s if you're desperate enough [ kidding, but y'all get the point ]
Have you considered the tansio Maria 10th anniversary. I sold my hype 4 for that set as I I only keep one set of IEMS. I found the tansio was leagues ahead of the hype 4. There's some cracking reviews around for the tansio.
Too peaky treble 👎🏻 Sadly.. Its the best symphony of drivers and overall best tuning I've heard yet, but ruined by the treble peaking.. Bass is definetily adequate I can't imagine taking more bass if thats Davinci..
@@Jaytiss Haha yeah I see how that came off, its not my native. Hype4 has grown on me, but treble still very forward. Enjoy the reviews! Watching your Noir review right now!

Great assessment of the hype 4. It has a wonderful tone.
I totally agree.. I feel like we're being forcefed cutting board sharp treble all the time.. I just don't dig it..

I wonder if you'll like Xenns Top since Hype 4's graph is similar to Top. Thanks for the HYPED review. ❤🔥
Xenns top is definitely on my list of stuff to try!
@@Jaytiss even i am interested in this comparison, i really like the Mangrid Top and find it very close to Monarch MK3!
I'll keep it on my radar if someone has it in for a loan or a demo at a show.

The Grand Maestro is comically large comparing to the Hype4 :))
It’s one reason I use it. It’s funny to me. It fits nice although.

If I can get one in. It’s expensive.
after blasting music into it for hours un attended then i tried them again the cymbals sounded better
Nice. Burn in maybe? What do you think the difference was?

Definitely!
Letsgo baby, Hype 4 over DUSK any day
