  • As requested by our Facebook fan Saiful Bahari, here’s our review of the 2016 Proton Perdana 2.4L. We of course, have to gloss through the parts that were done by Honda (they are, of course, great), but we do go into design and value in a bit more detail.
Conclusion: a 2-litre Perdana brand new with the 5 year warranty might be the best pick in the D-segment.
Check out our Facebook page, where we occasionally post our thoughts, bonus clips and more:

The Perdana 2016 is actually quite a good car but if I want to get a car that can tick all the boxes, I did get a Preve CFE. Why? The Preve has Lotus ride and handling so high speed stability would be good and there would be little to no fear when I take a corner with quite a fast speed. The safety is also greater with two more airbags than the Perdana. And why pay so much for a 2.4 litre roadtax if I only need to pay for 1.6 litre roadtax and still get the same acceleration as the Perdana 2.4?
Just my personal opinion, hope you guys become an extremely famous TH-cam channel one day!

      Biggest problem with Preve: CVT

I remember when Proton mentioned that Proton was taking their time to make this Perdana perfect.
The Perdana is far from perfect. I'm wondering what Proton meant by perfect.

thanks autophiles for reviewing this car haha. honestly i didnt think it was worth the effort to review this car as its basically an 8th gen accord except for the styling.
the PERDANA badge has in fact always been a rebadge from the day it was first conceived, so i wasnt expecting much. it wouldnt be wise for proton to design from the ground up, a car in a tough to compete segment which is getting more niche
agree with you, that loud as hell parking sensors that you need to manually turn off.annoying.
on my unit paddle shifters are not sharp, but the silver panel that stretches across the dash, when the passenger side door is open it was sharp and that caught me by surprise.
infotainment wise i think its adequate, after using the laggy as fudge proton iriz infotainment, the perdana one felt decent.
engine wise, the 2.0 engine gb combo is exsctly the same as the one in the gen9.5 accord 2.0 that honda is currently selling. the 2.4 is slightly different. for the 2.4 it has a very vtechy feel. you have to punch it to 4k rpms to get a sudden punch of torque, but can easily reach 180kmh
*** overall i bought the car because of the design and size. also bcause it is based off a honda so reliability and parts are good and widespread. and because i good a hefty discount at the time haha

this 2.4 used is around 78-85k nowadays..for me that is quite good for a 2year D segment car which have proven reliability with the k24 engine and ofcourse ustep outta the car feeling like datuk but for me personally i still would buy Proton Inspira 2.0 over any other Protons with campro shit..dunno bout the tgdi from geely though, hope its all good

if going on the 2.0 Perdana, you will be better off to get the used Honda due to the lacking of VSA in the Proton. Very strange that they omitted a standard feature in the Accord.
