truthfully, i did viola all through school, but started on piano. to this day the moment i pick up a string instrument and put it on my shoulder, my brain deleted treble clef 🤨 despite the fact i still need it! 🤨🤨🤨 brains are weird. i was the violist who could read treble as long as i wasn't holding a viola 😅
@@ミハラクアギ I can relate to this haha. I play the viola, violin and piano. I can only play the alto clef on the viola, as soon as I see the treble clef, I forget everything lmao.
@@ミハラクアギ I relate to this so much!! Like I can read Treble, bass and Alto cleft (bass cleft however I still need to say all cows eat grass when I read it, so I can kind of read it lol), nonetheless, I sing, am learning guitar and I play Viola and when I sing I can easily read Treble, but the minute I'm holding Viola treble clef just disappears from my mind 😂 I've had a few times when taking guitar lessons accidentally read Treble clef as alto haha
@@Dazzledweeb I can relate to this~ I am learning the piano and the part that I am currently learning (theory-wise) is how to read both alto clef and tenor clef. Fortunately, not at once. Unfortunately, even doing theory on this is give me a headache. Transposing things are a nightmare since my brain just cannot switch from one clef to another.
It was so funny to watch them make fun of us as they struggled to play level one 😂 but I mean it would probably be hard to switch if you haven’t played in a really long time
I'm honestly laughing, they shit on us all the time, yet they can barely play level 2 viola, yet us viola player's could easily pick up violin if we really wanted to haha
A few things that will always help. First, use the lower half of the bow and not the tip. You need more weight and cannot just slide around. Concentrate the weight of the bow on the string, especially the C string. You gotta work for the sound because the viola doesn't play itself. Second, make sure you use arm vibrato to bring out the natural sound of the viola. Since it is a larger instrument, it needs a larger vibrato. Third, your thumb can follow the fingerboard for the highest registers. I hope you enjoyed playing in the viola gang! Also, alto clef is awesome! Also, Brett won because he had a better overall sound even though he had trouble with Alto Clef!
somak-chan in the video « what music do you want to be played at your funeral ? » when they ask each other questions and they have to answer only by playing a piece, without justifications. Brett asked what would be the last piece he’ll play if he can’t touch a violin ever again then. Eddy played Sibelius 2nd mvt :3
We went on a trip to the grammar school and presented our instruments to the children. Their response: The violin was too squeaky The viola was very warm-toned and sounded the best The cello was too deep sounding The bass was too scratchy
Finally Eddy tries to play the viola seriously and without making fun of it, not like in the violin-versus-viola-video. This video shows that the viola is actually an excellent instrument with a warm and deep sound
@@amagiordi2615 Very good answer, but I have this background because now I'm playing Hummel's potpourri for viola and orchestra op. 94 and I liked his picture
But like, the viola sounds so nice?? It sounds rich and warm. Even if someone makes mistakes it's tolerable. When someone makes mistakes on a violin that's hellish torture because it's higher and it sounds like a screaming banshee.
This was my suggestion too! Not only cause I love the piece but because I think it'd be more fun if they were doing this together. :) For those who don't know the piece: th-cam.com/video/nnOoAnLL7vY/w-d-xo.html
I'm so glad a lot of you agree. Please like so Brett and Eddy see this! I would truly love if they played it! I myself am trying to get my violist friends to practice it to no avail!!

truthfully, i did viola all through school, but started on piano. to this day the moment i pick up a string instrument and put it on my shoulder, my brain deleted treble clef 🤨 despite the fact i still need it!
Yes exactly! 😅
Eddy: Blink twice if you need help.
Brett: *blinking intensifies*
How many times did you comment on this video
Vokaynroks 40 times. 😂 Kidding.
Me (a viola player): *looks in my inbox*
Me: this'll be InTeReStInG
Edit: omg thanks for all the likes!
I was wheezing they couldn't even play level one of viola when I could probably play level 3 of violin
@@nn-rp9yg I'm wheezing because for how much shit talk we get they couldn't handle it😂🤣
It was so funny to watch them make fun of us as they struggled to play level one 😂 but I mean it would probably be hard to switch if you haven’t played in a really long time
Right? For all the flack we get lol
I'm honestly laughing, they shit on us all the time, yet they can barely play level 2 viola, yet us viola player's could easily pick up violin if we really wanted to haha
Me: Is a viola
Me: Sees professional violinists fail at my instrument
Me: *happiness noise*
JK, love you Twoset :D
ARE U ACTUALLY A VIOLA I MUST KNOW LOL?!?
Ahh, so we both get played by all kinds of people.
@@tylermoore8218 Yes, I play viola. No, I'm not actually made of wood. Musicians call themselves their instrument all the time lol
Oh wow you are a viola that’s amazing
you’re a viola?
everyone: silence

brett: *s i m p t h e s i b e l i u s*

Your profile picture is an insult to my hunger.
This video shows that they actually respect the viola. You can see that they tried their best.
Me, a violist: *watches two set fail at my instrument*
Also me: HAH PATHETIC
lmao same
Brett is getting his revenge with Eddy’s Sibelius drip and I’m all here for it. (I’m aware of the typo and guess what? I’m not going to change it)
Same 😂
Ah yes, Sibelius drip, best drip of em all
@@raniadahayu1412 get some antibiotics for that drip.
I dont think this was the intent, but I totally went and looked up Paganini on Viola after this. Very nice
introducing us to different/lesser known works is always the intent!
Cecil Forsyth's Viola concerto is also great! Very romantic
I did it after reading this comment lol
Yes- alto clef is a lot of fun lol
Brett and Eddy be asking who wins? Who loses?
I think you both should recognize that
For once
You both lose
And viola wins
Lol
So true
Lol facts
Yep
yes
Finally Brett not in deadpan mood while Eddy plays
Watching his friend suffer brings out the best in him
literally haha he's so hyper its like eddys sibelius drop torture has made brett happier
As a violist this brings me joy seeing them struggle when I know I can play these pieces.
Violist: The tables have turned
The turned have tables
😂😂😂🤷🏾♀️
well well well look how the turn tables
I appreciate The Office references
Brett: Violas! Help us!
Hmmm... you’ve sure done your best to make violists want to help you throughout the years 😂
I was just going to say that 😂
Twoset: Violas, HELP!
Violas: 🙈🙉🙊🙅🏻🙅🏻🙅🏻

TwoSet: Okay, comment below, who won, who lost.

Brett : talking about Sibelius drop at 3 mil
Eddy : *dying in the inside, thinking about the 3rd mvt*
I'd love to hear him play the whole 2nd movement too, after hearing him played it like it was his last time playing the violin
I love the first movement the most so if he messes up the last one I can forgive him lol
Betul Tunca yeaaaaaah x)
somak-chan in the video « what music do you want to be played at your funeral ? » when they ask each other questions and they have to answer only by playing a piece, without justifications. Brett asked what would be the last piece he’ll play if he can’t touch a violin ever again then. Eddy played Sibelius 2nd mvt :3
We went on a trip to the grammar school and presented our instruments to the children.
Their response:
The violin was too squeaky
The viola was very warm-toned and sounded the best
The cello was too deep sounding
The bass was too scratchy
Finally Eddy tries to play the viola seriously and without making fun of it, not like in the violin-versus-viola-video. This video shows that the viola is actually an excellent instrument with a warm and deep sound
I love viola voice so much. Its probably because Im an alto singer.
well i hope ling ling wannabes won’t kill me, but i personally like the way the sounds more than the way violins sound
I tend to gravitate towards warm and deep sounds also... Viola, Cello, Bassoon, trombone, tenor 🎷, etc
Guess you wouldn't know Hummel you're more of a trumpet person
@@amagiordi2615 Very good answer, but I have this background because now I'm playing Hummel's potpourri for viola and orchestra op. 94 and I liked his picture
No one:
Twoset: **Simpbelius**
Brett did not have the resting Brett face when Eddie was playing
Cos he enjoys viola more lol
10:12 when editor-san calls them by their name... you know they're THIS close to tearing down the basement
I want to give you the honor of 70 likes but my creed forbids it. I apologize for this :I
Viola gang be like WUT WUT TWOSET!!!
And proceeds to cackle maniacally as they thank Editor-San for ACCENTING their struggles.
Man I can't believe as a violinist I'm gonna say this.
The viola is so warm and deep.... I actually like it
.......fuck....I'm a violist deep down..
But like, the viola sounds so nice?? It sounds rich and warm. Even if someone makes mistakes it's tolerable. When someone makes mistakes on a violin that's hellish torture because it's higher and it sounds like a screaming banshee.
Literally me everytime I hear my friend playing 💀
join us.
Succumb to the viola
Make the smart choice and switch to viola 😎
Twoset: Sightreads Viola pieces
Viola Players: _our time has come_
I wonder how long Brett’s gonna tease Eddy over the Sibelius drop before he realizes he’s gonna have to play the orchestra part for him too... 🤔😏
Brett should play the viola for Handel’s/Halvorsen’s Passacaglia and Eddy should play the violin for it to prepare for Sibelius >:)
This was my suggestion too! Not only cause I love the piece but because I think it'd be more fun if they were doing this together. :) For those who don't know the piece: th-cam.com/video/nnOoAnLL7vY/w-d-xo.html
Yes!!!
YESSSS I LOVE THAT PIECE
I'm so glad a lot of you agree. Please like so Brett and Eddy see this! I would truly love if they played it! I myself am trying to get my violist friends to practice it to no avail!!
Oh yesss! I love that piece! HEHEHEHEHEHEH 😈
Eddy's face now when compared to his face as Viola King several years ago makes me realize how much time had passed since that old video and how much Eddy has aged :v
He looked like a baby then. Now, idk. I would say hot 🌚😂❤️
It was only two years ago... I mean, maybe it's because I'm "old", but two years isn't a very long time to me. 😄
I think I like both of their look now though! Maybe it’s because they aged but I think they look good 😌
Really? To me he seems the same
@@pukkahut751 I'm trying to make some fan art, and I realized that Brett's face is unusually symmetrical. I'm fascinated.
Me: a viola player
Me watching Brett: **malicious laughing**
Also brett complaining the viola is to big for his hand LOL
This is a relatable moment
This is what they get for making fun of us....
I’m kidding I love them
“I feel like my hands are too small for the viola” *pianists with small hands crying in the distance*
Rachmaninov laughing
Just move to a violin. It's easier to master for short fingers. I did 😊
*violists with small hands crying overall*
It's official: Editor-san has perfect pitch
Fun fact: Brett Is smiling when he Plays Viola and then he has the Deatht face when he Plays the violin (my first language Is not English)
Because viola is a joke 😎
Even though I am Italian I can speak English like prettey well and I can tell your English is good :)
It's because he actually needs to concentrate when playing violin 😎
I too reflexively smile when I feel awkward or trip or mess something up in public but get major cranky concentration face when getting really into a song or game or whatever that I've cultivated skill at because I enjoy it lol
@@geckogeico2212 😎
Haha, Brett is totally enjoying getting up to Eddy’s Sibelius after what happened to him leading up to the Tchaikovsky drop 🤣🤣👍❤️
What's that?
Eddy: I think Brett should learn Paganini on the viola.
My fangirl mind: *PAGANINI ON VIOLA FOR 4 MIL SUBS!*
Can I borrow this????
Shaela Mae Martinez If it's to make a petition for Brett to play Paganini on the viola, *SURE!* 😂
DO IT FOR 2.5MIL WE NEED THIS
So.......Sonata per la Grand Viola?
ILLEGAL, BISH!!
As a violist I feel like I have the authority to say Brett definitely lost Edit: Brett should play the Forsyth viola concerto.
me: *plays viola*
pro violinists: *fails at playing viola*
me: *laughing*
Never seen two professional violinists struggle playing the viola so much
I'm surprised they even wrote down the "viola" normally, and not crossed it over. 👍Theyre improving.
Since it was sent to an E in their tier list
And they actually tuned it this time
@@cello404 maybe they have a bad day.. 😅

When you've been in quarantine for a long time, you begin to appreciate other instruments. *ehem, viola*
as a viola player I have no idea why I enjoy your videos so much.
So I guess Brett heard the word 'simp' yesterday and decided to try it out
I was looking for a comment that said this lol
i wanted to like but it’s at 420 so i won’t
What does simp mean? I genuinely have no idea😂
@@LtCmdrData-tu7jx
Google says:
Simp is an Internet slang term, used pejoratively for someone (usually male) who is seen as using excessive sympathy and attention toward another person (usually female) in order to win their affection, sometimes in pursuit of a sexual relationship.
So basically when you like somebody. For example, I am a Brett simp :D

The Viola King won, of course.
When brett makes eddy play a hard piece on a milestone
“My have the tables have turned.”
And then eddy will tease brett again for 4mil subs and the cycle repeats 🤣😂
So is Brett gonna play the whole orchestra like Eddy did? I N T E R E S T I N G
Coming from a violist, you guys did great sightreading alto clef! Alto is my home clef, so I had to teach myself treble and bass when I wanted to start piano, and even after 3 years of practicing piano on my own my brain defaults to alto and I still can't sightread treble nearly as well as you both did reading alto.
I think we deserve a viola duet after this video LOL. And I can’t believe we’re actually getting a Sibelius drop!!! What!
llululala They need to play Alma’s trios with her on the piano and them on viola and violin. Atoning for years of INNNTTEERRRREESSTTTINNGGs.
