That was so intense but faith, steel and gunpowder wins the day. Can't wait for the Empire update that hopefully expands on the various Empire Provinces
So I was out with my Steam-Friends yesterday when we noticed some Elf walking around like it owns the damn Empire so I told one of our group to Steam the dagger ear,and he actually did it the absolute madlad hahahahaha praise Sigmar
I love playing on SFO as well. Brings a lot of depth to the campaign, especially to game one factions like the Empire. Hochland Long Rifles are great but I prefer the Nuln Ironsides. Less need to babysit compared to the Long Rifles (always have to keep them at a distance so their ability works) and the volume of fire the Ironsides dish out is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
Alexaeus basically rebalances the game, added new unit from tabletop, made magic feel good to use when it wasn’t just buffs/debuffs, made grimgor great. Basically overhauled the building trees from every race. Honestly a great mod. The magic from the first game was what got me to try the original games mod. But magic feels powerful and heroes feel like the heroic killing machines they are in the lore. Also unit hp pools are bigger and you tout due to army losses less

Probably cause it's a lot more new stuff in vanilla the empire and greeskins are pretty much the same since they got their dlcs from game 1 besides the waagh change
I know it's harder to get sfo replays, but I'd really like to see more! I use the radious overhaul so it's fun to see sfo since I don't normally get to. Also it's nice to see different gameplay than vanilla quick matches all day considering how many ppl do them.
Man I can't wait to see more games with Aerocrastic. Hes new to the mod but used SFO meatshields instead spamming expensive units, already skipped the noob trap. Get ready indy your SFO 31-0 winning streak is coming to end
Someone give those trolls a penalty for giving the long rifles the business, damn they are savage. I feel they are way better represented in the mod than the vanilla game, so high impact, so devastating, and hard to kill.
I thought it would be funny if SFO “forgot” to update Grimgor, keeping him weaker than he should be and continuing the meme lol (maybe even lowering his mass a little so he gets punted even more).
Absolutly awesome game. I've played some sfo mortal empires recently and I dunno about you guys but the unfortunately turns are starting to take forever. Even around turn 60 its taking almost 2-3 min per turn and thats on a ssd! Really drags out campaign downtime and kills the momentum for me honestly. The base game and SFO are both amazing for what they are but I have limited time so its hard to play through a campaign.
I think doing hochland long rifles could be in the base game, like make it so the handgunners get a great weapon variant that says long rifles, less units but more range and damage per shot
yes theyre in SFO Grimhammer 2. not sure exactly which buildings are required to recruit them in campaign, but I think they got moved to a unique one in Talabecland. Venris couldnt put it in Hochland for some reason
Indypride, i know sometime in the past you said that CA needs to address the voice response each time you click because they're annoying? Well i think right now, in replay you can't actually hear them saying "yes sir" or "moving!" Which personally, i don't like. Is there a way to turn that on again? It's very immersive for me.
i dont think theres any way to activate it as an option in game, im not sure if modders or developers changed it but yeah it doesnt seem to happen like it did in game 1
Needs a bit of work still. Basically no matter the circumstances Grimgor Ironhide is not someone Boris Todbringer should want or be able to ever duel for more than a few seconds. Like, no offense to my lad Boris but he's still very much human and Grimgor is not any Orc but literally what Orc peak performance looks like. A massive hulk of fungus and steel that just stood there and slaughtered a few dozents of Rat Ogres at once without even as much as flinching should not have any issues to cut a Graf and his Bird (that lorewise he really shouldn't have, iirc there's not a single TT model with Boris on a Griffon) down to size.
Thats just CA bad game design when it comes to any flying units. Flying needs a cooldown every time they charge in 15-30 second cooldown until flying again. When Vigor is exhausted the flying unit can no longer fly. Indy knows if he stays in melee with grimgore hes going to get instakilled so he slowly picked off his hp bit by bit.
Its still a video game and its still needs its balance to make it fun. SFO Grimgor is already a beast, especially compared to vanila one, also it wasnt a duel really, Boris had his gunners, was cycle charging and even wizard came and gave those green buns some lovin'. Pretty sure if it was one on one Grimgor would have won, simply just because he would be able to utilize his charge defense properly
"Invisibility" gets broken if you get close to enemy units. so it's really hard to get a hidden unit past the flanks and it's impossible to go with hidden units through the middle

Grimgor did not instantly defeat the entire army with one swing, clearly SFO needs to get closer to the lore.

I don't know what makes it so but I genuinely believe SFO battles tend to be more entertaining to watch than vanilla.

New units, general pace slowed a tiny bit, and the “hero” units significantly buffed versus vanilla. Makes it more cinematic and epic.
