- Magnamalo solo speedrun in Monster Hunter Rise with SAED Style CB by Dune. A lot of u guys are asking why he can load all his phials only from yellow charge. He is using the Load Shells skill. This skill does not grant additional Charge blade phials, like in World/Iceborne, but instead makes you able to fill 5 phials on yellow charge instead of red.

I like to think that every monster has two internal alarms that depend on the hunter. One of them is the “oh hey it’s dinner time, time to combo this hunter into oblivion” and the other alarm is “oh fuck it’s TDS”

Yeah, I had to resort to my heavy bowgun because it just couldn't deal with it's speed up close, but at least I learnt how to use it properly this time, last time I was just using it because I couldn't figure out where to hit Basarios

As a player constantly working to improve their Charge Blade skills, this video is an inspiration. Those were some tasty guard points.
Tried doing this, carted on my first SAED attempt
SAED every 15 seconds. How god intended charge blade to be played.

I've taken CB on every hunt thus far, and you just showed me the huge gap between starting on a weapon, and mastering it.

It's more important to master the monsters than the weapon in my opinion. With CB you hit thr skill ceiling pretty quick but you can get A LOT better when you know the moveset of the monster you are hunting very well.
Take a shot every time they do a SAED

I know this reply is late, but yeah... his positioning in this run is incredible.
I died about 8 times before defeating Magnamalo, in hub quests and this dude solos it in 3 minutes. Extremely impressive.

Don't feel bad, they do that to every weapon, though I'm hoping I don't find their insect glaive speedrun, that's the one I use when I'm feeling confident.

I was playing around with bludgeoner on the diablos hammer, and it felt like a trap because blue sharpness still does slightly more damage. Figured I would try a charge blade in the training room to see if bludgeoner boosts power phial damage, and it does. I guess the Rajang cb is one of the few weapons where you don't have to play the brutal/dulling strike lottery to get good consistent damage from this kind of build.

Sick speedrun aside, I love the fact that the characters talk a lot more during combat. It makes the game feel even more alive in a sense.

what if they talk too much during combat like zenoblade chronicles? for that reason I chose japanese dub and its funny how each locale and monster intro sounds like a wwe announcer
I have come to like it more and more as each day passes.
Best part is that for the people who don't like it you can change the frequency so everybody is happy.

I remember in world, the first hit of the SAED had some kind of "hit stop", while here it is like it goes through butter. Is it just me ?

Looks like no matter when you hit with the SAED the game already counts all the hits before the animation ends, at least that's how I see it
@@HeroChaserDrillStar the phial explosions are counted seperatly on their own, so majority of the time it will miss unless you have god aim and timing as shown. the hit box on the explosions are tiny you can't even hit a rathalos floating above them.
Just adding on to what others have said, it seems like Dune turned off camera shake, which could be part of why the explosions feel flat.

I recently learned how to guard point in world and I'm having so much satisfaction in guardpoint to SAED. Can't wait to try it in Rise.
In Iceborne, there's the SA Rocksteady clutch claw ZSD spam.
In Rise, there's CPP SAED spam.
That set must pack quite the big numbers gosh look at that dmg
Currently playing MHGU and comparing CB's moveset. This is insane! You don't expend shield charge with UED like Valor AND you can do UED from a guard, shield bash, AND the new valor sheath equivalent.
I've had load up lvl 2 wondering why I didn't get 6 phials and been charging up to red makes sense now, so I'm guessing CB doesn't need focus then

Trying to learn Charge Blade after playing Bow exclusively and watching this makes me realize that I haven't even done half the movesets in this video.
We all start somewhere and i bet you are better than i was when i started using CB. lol for some CB is easy to get into not the case for me, but it didn't stop me from maining it, good hunts to you and have fun!!
i decided to main CB for the first time in Rise, and i think i got the hang of it for the most part, but a couple matchups still give me trouble *cough Rajang *cough. I can kill him in 10-12 minutes with LS or Hammer, but with CB it takes me 20 minutes because i cant land anything on him lol
@@AysarAburrub Axe Hopper is good on Jang. You can pinpoint aerial AEDS on his head and tail and do aerial SAEDs when topples from those, or openings from a missed grab or laser beam happen.
Watch some CB tutorials specifically Arekzz gaming ones and you will learn them really quickly
in world ive been main GS then bow/LBG.. then after hr 100 i tried to played CB... it was a struggle.. then i literally just use CB in iceborn and so on with RISE... this fucker is just soo versatile and still hit like a damn truck.. i cant go back lol.. maybe some LBG/HBG for some cheese.. but yeah.. Guard point and SAED is just *chefkiss
I really hope you guys check these, so a couple days ago Oppa did a video comparing now and then for MH and during the comparison he spoke and shown the weapon and hitting effects or flashiness of them when there is 4 hunter and 4 buddies at the same time. Now with that being said I found something (not hidden) but he didn't mention it so I believe he may not know. In the options, in game settings you will find an option to be able to make the "hitting effects" Less
He mentioned it, in the video you talk about. And he mentioned also what it really does, which is not much.

Huh, you can charge your phials to max with just the yellow glow!? o.o Did Rise change CB phials work?
They changed how CB works with load shells skill. Now instead of having more phials you get full charge with yellow sword.
Those 900 dmg SAEDs are so satisfying.
for information, focus 3 + load shell is amazing ! You can spam aerial SAED it's super fun :)

Wait, you get full phials after a guard point and have access to elemental round house slash to charge your sheild just after charging them? (Haven't played MHRise yet lmao. I remember in World, you have to go through the SAED start up animation and then cancel it with the ERHS to charge the shield.)

Guard Point SAED Is legit one of the most satisfying things to land in this game

Oh my goodness I am basically using this set already, and I thought of it myself. My charm is potentially a little better too, as instead of Bombardier1 I have Punishing Draw1.

I just started maining CB in rise because I mainly used DB in mhgu, but since rise didn't have styles decided to try out CB, now looking at this video, I feel like a peasant ;-;

I havent been playing C.B in rise. But I've been seeing speedrunners using the axe hopper with the condensed spinning slash. Then not using it. Is there a benefit to that?

One noob question.. i saw you used CPP then charged your phials into your shield right away. How did you do that? I mean what buttons did you push?
Good to know that I'm right to incorporate the condensed element discharge into my use of the charge blade as much as possible. The key is finding the openings.
I've been wondering how can you do a normal discharge when your shield is powered up. Is it an individual input or an animation cancel or something else?
@@julianquintana400 Yes it's animation cancel, you press the same buttons as if you were initiating UAED or SAED, but pull the left stick back, that way you perform AED instead which consumes one phial.
Does the thunder attack make a big difference on this build?
Anyone know how he have lvl 5 Thunder Attack? His armor don't have this skill. I think this is the reason of the stun frequency.

Ngl, this speed run is satisfying...but the sound of the pierce arrows in their Narwa speed run with the nargacuga bow is sensual...also, I made that build after watching that XD (ig, db, bow for life...who cares abt stamina anyway)

Can someone tell me how he’s able to use the condensed spinning splash when he’s got the element slash equiped? Like he’s able to charge his sword separately but still be able to use savage axe when he’s in axe mode.

Multiple times it looks like the gauge is just yellow, but when after charging the cb, it fills the whole gauge. I first wondered if it might be how focus works in rise, but the skill isn't being used here. Is it due to a dango effect?
