Visiting the Juniata Locomotive Shops!

5/16/24 - Altoona PA
I had gotten word that the NS safety train was going to be at Rose Yard in Altoona from the 14th to the 16th. My parents were busy, but fortunately, my grandparents, who were visiting at the time, were okay with taking me there to see it. Since we had to park by the locomotive shops, we checked them out as well. Overall, I got see a lot of cool engines. Lots of older ones, including a bunch of "Thoroughbred" dash 9s, SW1001 shop switcher 2102, and even one of the only two remaining C39-8s in the country: NS 8688, along with some special interest units: SD70ACC 1801, AC4400CW 3982, PRR sticker GP38-2 5604, a few ex-BNSF dash 9s, and of course, SD60e 911.
