- The small sea turtle is one of my first wooden sculptures. It is simple and fast carving for beginners. In this video I made the earth turtle. I used my knife and a short cylinder of branch. He is the best for this woodcarving… for me.
I am not a professional woodcarver and, especially, not a master or a teacher. However, I enjoy carving small wooden sculptures. Here, you will find my simple projects, and I hope they help you relax. You can discover more of my wood carving patterns on my channel and check the Community tab: www.youtube.com/@SmallWoodenS...

great work , what knife are you using ?
This knife is my homemade product. He is great for me, but I don't know anything else.
@@SmallWoodenSculpture great knife . If you want anything else, try mora 120, beavercraft , or maybe victorinox camper/hiker with resharpening little blade, for whittling on the go,but if you like your knife, imo, you don’t need anything else .
Thanks, I'll keep it in mind.
this is awesome! what kind of wood do you use?
Basswood.
Do you have the measurements handy? would love to know how long the wood it. and where you drew your lines.
60mm for all, 20mm for head, 15 for front legs and 15 for hind legs. It's not important. I have turtles of other sizes. And look in the community tab. You will find some photos there: www.youtube.com/@SmallWoodenSculpture/community
What knife do you use and wood
I made my knife myself. The blade length is 40 mm. The overall length of the knife is 130 mm. In this video, I used basswood. Good carving to you.
"Take away everything that doesn't look like a turtle," right? 😊
If you need more wood, come to North Florida. Hurricane Idalia knocked down thousands of trees in August. 🌳
Most often, my carving is not as intended.
Usually, I only need a few branches. So, it's very sad.
Де можна такі різці знайти?
Не можу нічого порекомендувати. Бо раніше не цікавився темою. Я частіше використовую саморобний. Хоч і з недоліками, але звичний для мене.
i failed, probably because i choose too hard wood for this :(. i cant make these cuts, after 60 minutes i stopped at 1:50 :D i should get some softer wood
I used just basswood and aspen, but I also have a few spoiled. Don't give up, and good carving to you.
