Made this but didn't boil the sauce beforehand and it stayed runny and IT WAS STILL ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS can't wait to do it again and have elderly neighbors I will give some to.
How much are they near you? Because a large 28oz can of Bush’s vegetarian baked beans is only $2.50 at my local Smart ‘n Final, but all the ingredients he uses adds up to costing more than that. My vegetarian Worcestershire sauce and Better than Bullion ain’t cheap!
@@ICookAndPaint Your beans look delish, but my only problem is that buying a can of vegetarian bakes beans is cheaper than making them when considering all the ingredients you use (a large can at Smart ‘n Final runs for only $2.50). If it was cheaper to make them from scratch, I would so do it! But I have to watch my spending very closely because I’m living on social security income only.
I use monk fruit instead of sugar, and add chopped bell peppers, chopped onion…mmm. Ham hocks or left over diced ham is good, as is some potatoes if you make it like a soup. This is an excellent base to use your imagination…can even bake it down to make baked beans thicker…great with corn bread. Thank you
These are such great ideas! The place I used to work at added peppers to the baked beans also-delicious! I often enjoy these with cornbread, such a great combo. Thank you for your helpful comment-Happy Cooking!
Very similar to what we eat in the UK, invented by Heinz. Navy beans, tomato paste, vinegar, sugar, starch, paprika, easy and good for breakfast with a fry up.
That’s great! I’ve always wanted to try an can of beans actually from the UK. I’ve heard they’re different from the ones we have here in Canada. Kind of weird, but I am waiting for the next person I know who goes there to ask to bring me back a can haha! Thank you for the nice comment :)
Ima add less sugar. I have tried British beans and they are less sweet than the ones in the US. I like them better. The Brits are big beans consumers. Beans on toast is almost a national dish. Also with eggs, with chips (fries), and with cheese.
Thanks for that, man. Now, it's been said that "Fair exchange is no robbery." In that spirit: It's Wusster, or - if you must - Wusster-shrr. The first is more common, although either is correct. Incidentally, Worcester is the city, Worcestershire is the county. One more thing: If you're interested in the vegan option, then - should it be available to you: Henderson's Relish - no anchovies, tastes the same and they call it "Hendo's" in Sheffield - in Yorkshire. You're welcome. :)
Its Wuss-ter-sher sauce or Wuss-ter-sheer or wuss-ter-shire, depending on which part of the UK you're from, or how posh you are or are not. The important part is Wuss-ter.
The salt theory happens to be an old wive’s tale. Salt in fact, allows for the individual beans to maintain their integrity for the duration and temperature cooking. Do have a look at visible loose skins of the beans which had been left unsalted - promise
Most comforting food channel in the world imo!!!
Thanks so much :)

I’m really glad you enjoyed them! :)
I never thought of eating baked beans before but you sold it with your montage on how to eat the beans.
Making this exact recipe tomorrow. It’s late in the day so bummer to have to wait. Thank you !
Sharing this too.
Be blessed
Wow thanks so much! Enjoy the recipe :)
Looks delicious! My son loves baked beans. Sounds good with bacon. Thank you! ❤
I think your son will love these :)
Can we use a slow cooker (crock pot?)
You can for sure! As long as you start with cooked beans :)
@ICookAndPaint....start with cooked beans. Do you mean canned beans?
@@ChristopherRivas1969 Yes, canned or dry beans that were soaked overnight then cooked until soft.
They look good I will try your recipe
Thank you and enjoy!
Looks so good.
Thank you! It really is :)
A question would it not be good to save some of the water you used to cook beans in pressure cooker so you retai some more of flavour and nutrients ?
You can certainly do that for sure, it’s a great idea :)
Thankyou, looks good!! I would add ceyenne pepper too, for that added kick! 🙂
That sounds fantastic!
Looks wonderful can't wait to try these!
Thank you, enjoy :)
We love baked beans but they are getting expensive. Thank you!!! I cannot wait to try this as your recipes always come out beautifully. Yum.
You’re so welcome! :)

@@one-eyepadidally8449 $3.19 for the 28oz of the Bush's Vegetarian, which is what we use. Occasionally they go on sale 2/5.
But, aren't you buying enough ingredients to cook many cans worth over time?
My husband’s favorite, Thank You❤️
Awesome, you’re very welcome :)
If I have a whistle pressure cooker, how many whistles? or do I need to pressure cook for 20 minutes?
I believe it’s 4-5 whistles but cooking for 20 minutes under pressure might be the safest :)
5:51 😂😂😂 that was hilarious, Ty for the recipe ❤

I love it, that you left in your blooper. 😊😊😊
Almost took it out, glad I didn’t haha :)
Is it 4 cans of beans if using canned beans instead?
If the cans are roughly 19 fl oz then 2 cans should do it :)
@@ICookAndPaint Thank you!!
@@ICookAndPaint this was sooo good! Def trying w dried beans next time! And I made the cheesy cauliflower, omg.

Sir, toss a teaspoon of baking soda in when you're soaking the beans.
What does that do?
@@chevypreps6417 helps to soften up the bean! Works better if you add the baking soda during the boiling process, cuts the cooking time by A LOT

Yes. Is this the exact baked beans ingredients used by the spud bros? Just asking. I really want to try jacket potato.
Love from India

In the ingredient of the original heinz baked beans are 34 % of tomatoes. You add only tomato pasta....
These ingredients can be tweaked; there is some tomato from the ketchup, too :)
Wuh-ster-sheer sauce.
Your’e welcome 😂😂🇬🇧
Perfecto, thank you! 😂🇨🇦
