    this was very helpful..i was about to invest most of my budget on shipping and packaging by using the cardboard tubes plus packaging tissue paper for a grand total of $218. I just saved about $175. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

      how could it be so expensive?? i use tubes :O

    • @JasonWrightArt
      @JasonWrightArt  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no problem! Ive used tubes too. If you look around enough, you can find tubes that are just over two times too large and cut them in half. Then you would cut that cost in half. The only downside is you run out of caps halfway in and have to make your own, and they are hard to cut ;)

      or an extra piece of cardboard(there are thicker types that don't bend easily). A piece of acid free printing paper(or any other acid free paper) between the print and cardboard is recommended.

    Thank you sooooo much! I want to start selling my posters and prints, but don't really have the budget to invest in 500 tubes (and buying each one separately is way too expensive). Thank you so so much for sharing.

    Flat works well for small sizes, but a good 20% of the prints I've shipped in larger sizes (13" x 19") get bent during shipping. FYI.

    • @Paigeypieinthesky
      @Paigeypieinthesky 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      do you roll after a certain size?

    • @JasonWrightArt
      @JasonWrightArt  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Paige Schuller yes ive started getting rolls for bigger sizes, atleast 3 inches wide, from uline. he 4 inch are better, but they come long. If you want to spend the time you can cut them in half, but you will run out of caps half way through. I just cut the caps out of cardboard after that ;)

    Thank you for this. Wouldn't kitchen wax paper work just as well as tracing paper and be cheaper and easier to use?
    I am still looking for how to stiffen the cardboard to keep it from bending. Thanks.

    • @sosylvie
      @sosylvie 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't recommend true wax paper as it could melt and mar the print. You could use parchment paper (25 ft. per roll) or plain tissue paper (97.2 sq.ft.) from the Dollar Tree, and you can order in bulk from them.

If it's just the print, do I send it rolled up in some kind of tube so it doesn't get damaged? but if it's in a tube for a while, won't that just make the photo curvy as hell when it gets to it's destination!? GAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

    • @JasonWrightArt
      @JasonWrightArt  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      curvygemini im going to paste the same thing i wrote to hersh23 to you:
      Ive had success with 4 inch wide tubes for prints. I got them at uline.
      And they where too long so I cut them in half so i doubled my stock of
      them, though half way through them you have to make your own caps. 4
      inch is good because less bending, 3 is too small for smaller prints,
      and, 5 is GREAT but tthe price is high. As for paintings and framed
      prints, stay with the same size if possible, then buy a bunch of right
      sized boxes bulk from uline as well. Also, for labels you should get a
      cheap black and white laser printer. The toner cartridges last like ten
      times longer than say a standard printer.

    Hello... great video. QUESTION: I am just starting out and desperately need advice. I haven't found much in the way of info online for this particular subject(sales tax). With your website, how do you collect sales tax from all 50 states and how do you report the sales tax to those 50 states? Please note: I am based in California(my sales tax nexus) and I my website is with WIX(my point-of-sale) . I know there's software to help i.e.Taxjar, Avalara, but there's nothing explaining the reporting process. Thanks for any help.

    Excellent. Thank you. Have you ever shipped very large prints? 26"x40" is what I'm looking at and I'm afraid of them bending and/or corners getting damaged. The only thing I can think of is to line the folders with wood or something stiff. Unfortunately, the paper I used for the artwork cannot be rolled up. It's too thick. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    • @christinawilkinson2717
      @christinawilkinson2717 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a tough one since you're printing on such thick paper. I've shipped from 5x7 size all the way up to 26x40, but I use tubes and thinner paper for my poster work. To ship flat at that size, you'll be paying quite a bit. I hope you find a solution.

    two layers of corrugated cardboard with the corrugations running parallel isn't very-stiff (creaseproof).
    Would be better off with two sheets of 10mm foamboard and a card frame gasket, then retaining the print with card corners and tissue paper.

    • @JasonWrightArt
      @JasonWrightArt  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrSpamaholic there is a brand that is sold at places like walmart called DUCK i think that is very thick cardboard and works well for smaller prints. THough they cost a little more. thanks for the comment !

    Great video. I’ve just received a set of 3 prints from an art studio. There is a very slight bend in the prints which I didn’t notice until I framed it and saw a slight shadow. Is this normal? Will it go, or how can I correct this?

    • @jeffshutup1216
      @jeffshutup1216 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Noticed you never got a response, so three months later here's one- sometimes slight creases will occur, if you put some heavy books on the back while it's on a flat surface, it will slightly correct that. There's a method of ironing the print with a towel on it to set it, but that's far more risky.

      +Jarrod Cecil No problem! I use my Paypal actually. If you google it, there is a specific link you can use to print labels trough paypal and you can enter the address and such. Or if the transaction is through paypal its even easier. I use a home scale, and a laser printer is key, because the toner lasts SO long, and I refills the toner once in a blue moon through amazon for 11 bucks. Most of my prints fall below the 16 oz mark, so they can be shipped First Class, which is cheapest. Anything over that you have to send priority. wait, ill send the link www.paypal.com/shiplabel/create/

      You could head to B&H store online they are having a sale on a very good printer which I happened to purchase yesterday. (It didn't arrive yet).
      The printer is the Canon Pixma Pro 100 and after watching and reading many reviews I decided to purchase to print my artwork at home. They sell for up $400s but after you receive the printer you can send the rebate form and Canon will send back $250. So after the rebate you only spent $130. Plus it comes with a free set of paper that is worth $40.
      It might be worth checking it out if that works for you.
      Cheers,
      Viviane
