I truly thank you for this video on cleaning & baking chicken quarters. I have learned so much and I'm near 75 yrs. old. I followed your instructions, and I was amazed at how much broth came from the quarters.! I'm waiting for my family to enjoy this delicious looking chicken. I also cooked cabbage and purple hull peas. 😋 Thanks again for making cooking fun. MS. CJ

Where have you been all my life? I am 65 and wish I had had the instruction you are giving here back when I was a teenager. My mom didn't really like to cook and didn't do much in the way of actually making meals. You go with what you know so my daughter grew up the same way I did. Now she wants me to start writing some recipes out for her. Guess where they are coming from? Yes, yes, yes right here. Thank you so much.

I really enjoyed your video. I can't say anyone ever told me how to clean chicken. I do it the same way, I just been taking off all the stuff I thought was gross but my grandmother did teach me how to get rid of the hair, she would hold it over the flame of the gas stove. I did learn something from you though, I didn't know that little trick about cutting the leg off. I can't tell you how many times I just about cut myself. Thanks for lessening. You're a good host, loved the video.

I used your recipe for drumsticks and thighs already cut up. Didn't have any poultry seasoning so I used a homemade version I found online that worked out very well. Used the adobo with the red cap and really like how the spice mix really seasoned my chicken. And I am definitely saving the broth for cornbread dressing.

Once you clean the chicken pieces put in a bowl with water and a little splash of white vinegar, let it sit for a few minutes... that will get off the slime and make your chicken feel squeaky clean. Then continue as usual. It doesn't leave any after test. Give it a try and let me know if worked for you. Love your video and tips.

Looks delicious! LOVE the idea of saving the broth in ice trays. Thank you...I'm doing that this weekend when I bake a chicken.

Edit & Update: I owe you so much. I followed your instructions and it came out perfect. So juicy inside, flavorful and perfectly crisp outside. And just like you said, the chicken stock is thee best.
I am only learning to cook and wanted to learn how to make chicken cuz money is always real scarce for me, and chicken is so affordable. I will save a fortune in life now, and have good home-made food I never had before, all thanks to you sharing your knowledge and doing it so clearly. You made a great tutorial and its was very valuable to me. I am grateful, thank you. ♥♥♥

Latrice Wilson How many cabbages are you cooking? If it's two instead of using a lot of water use 1/2 cup of water, some salt and 2 cups of the chicken broth that you poured off the chicken because it will make the best cabbage. If you run into any problems I will watch my phone email me @
Christuggle1@aol.com. I will get right back to you. 👍🏾

this is such a nice tutorial. great explanations/clear instructions and great camera work. it looked delish. i got the saddest feeling when watching you carefully working and putting extra dabs of love into this recipe....the sadness came from wondering how many of us cook from scratch anymore? i sometimes think we're the last generation to cook real food. i'm going to check out some of your other recipes just to listen to you and watch your tutorials. thanks.
