you have a modified street car vs a track based vehicle. The F40 is meant to compromise nothing performance for anything comfort. Everything is bare carbon and metal. No sound deadening... it doesn't even have real windows that roll up. Also consider that when they captured footage and sound for these cars they didn't use the exact same equipment in each car. The Ferrari F40 is easily my favorite Ferrari of all time.

ギア比の差だとおもう。
512とNSXは1～5速の減速比はさほど違いはないんだけど、ファイナルの減速比がNSXが4.062で512が3.214になってて、そのぶんNSXのが出足がいいんだとおもう。
最高速のほうも、NSXは5速の減速比なら7000rpmで266km/hあたりなんでエンジンの美味しい回転域あたり最高速に達するようにできてますね。
MR2 certainly surprised me there vs the RX7.
Honda should always be proud of the NSX, they made it to combat Ferrari's of the time and it certainly held it's weight!

Yep, a muted turbo flat-plane crank V8. Totally comparable with the classic V12's Ferrari made. Not.
A dull, uninspired sound if there ever was any in a supercar. Compare it with a Lamborghini Countach V12 or Ferrari's own Berlinetta Boxer 512. Better still - Ferrari's flat-12 Formula 1 cars of the 70's make the F40 sound positively tame, however fast it was.
@@jamesshunt5123 - Agreed. The only thing that lets the F40 down in my eyes. It's why I have the Mclaren F1 above it because it has all the same aspects as the F40 but faster plus the BMW V12 sounds glorious.

@@名無し太郎-p4z 現行国産スポーツカーだけでも Civic Type R、GR Yaris、GR Corolla、GR Supra、GR86/BRZ、RC F、GT-R、Fairlady Z、Swift Sport、Roadster、Copenといろいろありますし、それ以外の車種と外車も含めると大量に魅力的な車がある。そう考えると内燃エンジン最後の当たり年ですかね。

Quentin Courtonne 273 km/h was top speed on this track, RUF goes for 340 km/h. It was the fastest car in 80th and early 90th

12.5 1/4 for the ruf. With a soft launch on what looks like a damp track. I think the yellow bird had over 500hp even though it only booked @460bhp.
Both the F40 and RUF were underrated. They easily both had 500+hp
On their catalog its written between 450-480hp but on dyno , they both have around 500HP :p

Ruf is most underrated
Japanese offering are very good and at a more affordable price but Ferrari and yellow bird Germany tuned Porsche is a mountain to tackle.
The CTR is a video you should watch when did the lap on the Nurburgring originally. Dude SLIDES around the track.

Grew up playing Gran turismo 1 and 2, probably have entire days logged on 2. So finding these shows later in life is very nostalgic. Wish I could have been there to experience the car culture what in 90's Japan. The car culture now is probably at a peak here in America but its not about pure driving enjoyment and balanced performance. Now you got stance guys who never run the engine over 2000 rpm because they are too busy smashing apart their oilpan and subframe bushings. Or people in it for the internet clout and have no interest in driving.

Ash your opinion on how they have aged is fine and it's your opinion even though I don't agree with it as I think the NSX has aged better then an R34GTR and even though I like the RX7 I think the NSX has aged better and especially the 02+ facelift NSX. But Slow compared to what? and There is no problem with having the engine behind you and not much engine noise enters the cabin unless you thrash it(and then most people don't mind hearing the engine) or if you modify with a loud exhaust.
The f40 is timeless no question

I wonder how a Corvette C4 ZR1 or a Callaway would have done here?
The latter were notoriously unreliable so it's unclear whether it would have endured a full weekend or day of testing. The former were fast - as long as you ignored such things as using the clutch to change gears and also liked using racing fuel (as opposed to regular gas) and racing slicks (not exactly road legal) to gain a severe advantage. GM liked bolstering the specs of its product in a way that made the Italians blush in the 80's. They also had a habit of counting raw horsepower from the motor itself rather than the *actual output* at the driveshaft like the Germans did. All in the name of bragging right and sales.
Btw, the American car magazine Road & Track did a 0-100-0 mph shootout in 1994 and the Corvette ZR-1 was beaten by a Porsche 911 Turbo (the 360hp version of the 964 generation 1989-1994). The Ferrari 512 TR was roughly as fast and the Lamborghini Diablo slightly faster.

ボディパネル以外はチューブラスペースフレームの保守的な作りですし。
マクラーレンF1やF50のが近・現代スーパーカーの先駆けでしょう。

浜茄子太朗さんのおっしゃる通り。F40は最後の古典的スーパーカー。発表時点でもポルシェ959なんかと比べると古い感じがした。
ただマクラーレンF1とフェラーリF50では4～5年隔たりがあるので、現代的なスーパーカーの始祖はマクラーレンF1とブガッティEB110だと思います。 もしくはその3年ほど前に発表されたジャガーXJ220かな。
