    I had the honor of riding in Steve Beddor's CTR2 as a child. Amazing car. My father was the specialst mechanic for the RUF racing teams, for many races including the VC hill climbs where the car set the world record. Wish I wouldve been old enough to remember riding in that car. Truly an amazing peice of machinery.

    Why do so many people say it's a ripoff of porsche? They have been working closely with them ever since porsche's start

    • @fabianblom2458
      @fabianblom2458 5 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      How can it be a ripoff if it's "better"? Of course it's subjective if you think it's better or not. But what it really is and has always been is a Porsche on steroids.

    Beautiful presentation. I am a 911 fan too since birth. I Love Porsche and Ruf, Keep up the good work and what a privilege it must've been to meet Alois. I got goosebumps within the first 30 seconds of the video and finally I'm glad your hero didn't disappoint you. I currently own a 2008 BMW 335i M Sport and MB E55 AMG 2001. My hero is the 993 turbo and I plan to take ownership of it next year, my lifetime dream. I hope I don't become disappointed in meeting my hero next year. Fingers crossed!

As to the Yellow Bird I was one of the first people in the states to see that video and my friends and I would sit around sometimes after the bars closed and watch that thing with my stereo speakers cranked... that was such an epic video.... thanks for the update guys.

    Good lord this car is my street legal car hero of ALL TIME. Always will be. Hope to own one of these someday, but the prices are of course going up faster than I can make more money. Just sublime (ridden in one when I was a kid, never drove, and that kick in the pants from the boost, and the rear that just was sliding yet SO planted... still in awe of that, think about it at least once a day, 20 years later).

    My dad used to own one of the 49 original one. Actually one of the 29 built from the ground by RUF. It was a beast. lol... I miss that car. I've driven newer cars that accelerate faster and will crush it around a track, but never have i driven a car that felt anything close to the CTR. It was so dramatic and somewhat scary. You really felt and heard it when changing gears, you heard the whistling of the bov. Man that was an exciting car to drive, and even more exciting when my old man drove it.

    It is interesting to compare Gemballa and Ruf... Ruf only does Porsche, but Gemballa tunes many other as well (like Ferrari 355). Collaboration between those two would be awesome deal...

    • @comethiburs1154
      @comethiburs1154 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      gambella stuff is just plain and vulgar, you compare Mata Hari and a russian hooker here..

    • @BluWarta92
      @BluWarta92 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      côme Thiburs côme Thiburs Actually no... Have you seen how subtle those early days Gemballas used to be? Like Ferrari 355 F1, Porsche 911 Turbo (2002 model maybe?) Gemballas used to be very tasteful. Now days they are vulgar. You don't want to buy expensive supercar and then modify it with subtle things since nobody notices. There is much worse tuning companies out there... MUCH worse. I would say it would be nice to see what Ruf and Gemballa would come up with collaboration. They are great with their own merits. I mean... Look what Gemballa did to Ferrari Enzo, in my opinion they nailed something there, not overdone, but enough to make it look like "Enzo with badass attitude x100".

    • @comethiburs1154
      @comethiburs1154 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      well those arent the modern, millionaire milking machines gambella sells today..
      i hate to say that it was better before,
      But it's the case for Gambella. the gambella avalanche and the F355 are quite cool.
      They killed themselves with the already ill looking carrera GT. who the hell puts 90's Rx7 fixed headlights on a 997?
      imho, the enzo looks horrible, it's like the rape product of a Mach 5 Razor blade on a Enzo who overdosed steroids. only good add is the rear pipes and the spoiler.
      most (apart RWB) high-luxury tuners live in a very restricted niche, which is filled by tasteless wannabees and frustrated saudis. not the best food for experiments.

    • @BluWarta92
      @BluWarta92 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      côme Thiburs Yeah, i agree. They HAD some eye for subtle changes. That F355 is my favourite. It is absolutely stunning with new wheels and other very small changes.
      Yeah... they went pretty much overboard with everything after that. Although I understand since their cars are very "hot stuff" in millionaires tasteless world. That Enzo does split opinions... But I think it's somewhat "subtle" I mean holy shit what they did with Porsche Panamera.... With Enzo they at least left bodywork as it were, but made aerodynamic changes to it. Panamera is just plain berserk.
      But after all, I still think that they should collaborate.. I know that it could be that results would be horrible. But sometimes from crazy combinations give amazing outcomes. But I guess it is 99% sure only thing would come out of it is.... Well. A monster.
