Charlie never got paid for those sessions until over a decade later! Comes to show how much creativity mattered more than anything else back in the 90s. I’m hoping one day Charlie will actually be able to perform these songs with D’Angelo! I’m sure Pino wouldn’t mind the break lol Another Bay Area musician to be proud of!
Hey Bro, ran into you in S.B. a couple of wks ago, thanks for the convo and for the advice you gave. BTW, you are kind and polite, thank you. You were right, Tube amp. makes a difference, as well as changing the guts on the guitar. All the best, next time you are around stop by to say hi, I'm always where you saw me hanging out and solving world problems, LOL.
D'Angelo? Lol no one actually listened to this person back in that time, even though they are credited with inventing new musical styles. People were listening to 90's stuff by New Edition, BabyFace, Janet Jackson. That was what was happening musically in the 90's. All these new music students studying D'Angelo lol. Its like no our generation never listened to that! I remember D'Angelo coming out at the time and all my musical peers agreed it was insignificant?
That's a lot of words to say that you're washed, stuck in the 90s and you weren't even cool back then. No one cares what 'your generation' listened to at the time bro.
Absolutely mind blowing to see live 🤯
You just talked about this a few days ago! Pretty cool to see this video reposted.
I grew up listening to Charlie Hunter as a little nerdy jazz guitar player. Great to see him on some big albums
Charlie is unbelievable. Saw him live at Targhee Fest. Blew my mind!
Dope interview! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Charlie is one of the best to be doing it. His work with Silvana Estrada is amazing too. Thanks Mason, you are a mensch.
Love Charlie . One of my all time fave players.
And that root feel is all Charlie 🤣😂
So good and honest original player
Charlie is lookin great. I’m still super fascinated with that guitar-bass and the style he developed with it
What a cool guy, amazing talent.
YESSIR! 🔥🔥🔥
First record I heard with Charlie was Disposable heroes of hiphopcracy. Have been a fan ever since
Incredible that's super inspiring

I’d pay for a vid of him doing the whole song

Untrue. Personal experience and anecdotal accounts aren’t the same as facts.
@@VertexEffectsInc You mean that sloppy stuff back then they were trying to call a subdivision? It still sounds like crap today.
@VertexeffectsInc just leave this troll under his bridge bro. If he doesn’t get it, he doesn’t get it. 😂

@@henryhill92 aye you young wipersnappers! And your sloppy swing, pretending it is a triplet subdivision! nope.
