Congrats Daan with getting your first T injection! “Virgin muscles” that never got injected before with Testosterone always are super painful the first time around. I use a 25g 1.5” long needle for my Intramuscular injection of Testosterone Cypionate or Enanthate in my quad muscle/legs. Also you are probably feeling the “T flu” when you first start T injections. It goes away after a couple weeks. I hope you feel better soon!
Seems like the needle was a bit large/long. Due to the thickness of the T I use an 18 gauge needle then replace that needle with a 1 inch long 22 - 23 gauge needle to do the actual injection. Did they use the same needle they loaded the T with? It may have been too big for your leg and/or too dull if they loaded T with the same needle they injected you with. Muscle pain is normal and it can be very unnerving to do the injection yourself! I have been injecting myself (with a few years off when I did the topical T) since 2001 and it’s still makes me a little cringy to do my own injection.

Anyway, I have been injecting testosterone for two months (I had 7 injections with different doses - from low to high) Every time I hit a different part of my body, the first time I could die from the pain. The second time I cried and the third time it was not so annoying. I use size 22, but I always go to the clinic. The nurse injects me slowly. The length of the needle that you mentioned has a big point. It also prevents the accumulation of testosterone under your skin. Accumulation of testosterone under the skin can make the story more painful. Consuming protein in the first days of each injection will help you (by the way, I am a vegetarian too) good luck! thanks for videos :)))
Gefeliciteerd Daan! Denk dat het bij n ieder verschilt, ik heb laatst m'n 3e injectie gehad (de androgel gaf te lage waardes) maar laat het in het Vumc doen. Ik heb nu wel heel veel puisten over mn lichaam voor de rest geen last gehad, wel ongeveer 5 dagen pijn ( wel te verdragen) aan mn bil. Stoer hoor, dat jij jezelf wil injecteren want dat durf ik niet! 😂 Anyhow, take care! 💪🏼💪🏼👊🏼
Thanks! Bij mij niet zo zeer lage waardes, maar ik merk wel dat ik me de afgelopen drie weken lang niet zo moe voelde, dus hopelijk blijft dat. Aanstaande woe 2e keer bij de huisarts, kijken of ik het dan zelf durf te doen 🙂
Ask for subcutaneous injections. It's a smaller needle and much easier to selfinject
I have a smaller needle now, so hopefully I will be brave enough to do it myself now 😅

They used a different needle, but the one they injected with was bigger. No idea what size, I'll ask next time (was a bit distracted at the moment ;))
