You still hanging in there? I've got an interview tomorrow and I'm trying to get some insight into what to expect during my first weeks, months or year.
The rollercoaster of emotions in this industry is absolutely a real thing and it helped me a lot early on to hear more seasoned guys talk about it. Just had my year anniversary in this industry in June and I’m still growing in the personal development area 💪🏼 this channel has been a great resource for me 🙌🏼 thank you!
Zach, I am super pumped to have you here. 1 year in and growing! Love that. Pumped to see you embracing the journey. Here's to year 2 being even better!
Even after 30yrs as an owner, we hit this cycle and it’s important to put your blinders on. New guys feel defeated and quit and then all the callbacks come in. And they miss out on the payday. Experienced sales people go through a drought and then comes the doubt. Stick with it and grow through it.
Well said my dude! 30 years as an owner? Rock on - you've seen it all :) I have much to learn from you as well! Really appreciate the comment. It's clearly resonating with others :)
Yeah, sure. You neam they quite after working as a door knocker for free, the if someone FINALLY ACUTALLY buys, the rep gets a piece of the pie. Total bs for the sales rep
Go in for an interview tomorrow for roofing, gutter and paint sales. about to deep dive your podcast at work while i can’t binge watch this playlist at home 🙏🏻.
Great motivational video, love it, sales is sales, I don’t even do roofing or strictly sales, but I have done my share of door knocking , and I can attest to it, it works well if you can be consistent, found this video because I’m doing a roof tomorrow to stay busy, and also picked up another job just by doing a 3rd follow up with another customer, follow up is key. When you get a sale and pick up up a big job it feels great. Keep up the good work ,and don’t get discouraged , remember the harder you work the luckier you get.
I am Brand New to this, my best friend is my mentor and he referred me to this channel. This video is literally my first step, I know I'll do great, looking forward and supremely appreciate you and this channel.
WELCOME to the industry and the channel! Really glad to have you here. Please thank you friend (and mentor) for me. I really appreciate him/her passing along the good word. Stay tuned here. Binge away. Apply yourself. And go kick some butt in roofing sales!
Thank you for the heads up! Im new in the industry coming from the Solar World. Never been in Sales but Im ready to go toe to toe with it. Awesome Educational Videos man, I was referred by Skyline Designs Roofing and Restoration 🦍💪🏽
Rock on dude! Welcome to the industry and the channel. Tell the Skyline Designs Roofing and Restoration team that I super appreciate them! Sending my best and hope you CRUSH it in the industry!
Love the poisoned mind section Only my second year and navigating the ebbs and flows of the business is an immensely internal battle, but it’s worth it if you’re willing to lean into the unknown
Glad to hear that resonated with you. I still have to protect my mind (just from a different angle now). It's great practice and helps us grow stronger!
LOL appreciate it man. Funny story about the haircuts... I used to have a nice haircut. Then one day (early on) I went to get a haircut at a budget place while traveling. The barber put my hat back on and said, "You're going to need this..." I got home, took my hat off, and realized he had BUTCHERED my hair beyond repair. So I shaved it. I kept it shaved because I didn't trust anyone. And I felt like getting it cut was a waste of time. So after that... I just let it grow out. Just a different way to deal with the no haircut attitude :) I decided to donate my hair to Locks of Love and finally found a barber I can see regularly. There ya have it. Far more than you asked for :) Thanks for the comment. Have a great week, Ryan!
Just applied to a roof sales company in Florida. Looking to move there and possibly start this career. Scared about it because it’s something I know nothing about. I drive truck currently so it would be a huge change
I’m 17 and getting into this business in the next couple weeks, I have a big family in I’m stepping into and there all really good at it and I hope that i can put my knowledge to the test and make a good living out of this
@@IKnowEverythingx it’s really good man, it’s not for everyone but don’t get discouraged because door to door sales can be easy money with some time, just work on your pitch and learn what you need to say and also get good at listening to your customers, not just yourself
Great content as usual. Have been watching and learning from you for some time now. I do have a quick question for roofing in general, should I be knocking every single door (like I did when I was in the solar industry) or should I be cherry picking the roofs that look like they need attention?
The truth is that nothing lasts forever, laws are changing and as this becomes more popular as a career it gets noticed by the Big Boys, trust me, a couple more years this will be a thing of the past. It's a normal cycle. Awesome content.
Helloooo 1st thank you for all the content, it’s very insightful. I’m looking to start training this month. My company said that they pay $50 per inspection, $200 for signed contracts + commission. Does that sound about right? Just making sure the recruiter isn’t just trying to reel me in. The company seems like a great company, but I know how things can be sometimes on the back end. I’m definitely concerned about having gaps in my checks. I understand roofing sales takes off fast for some, and slower for others. I am in Texas and the company is Flagstone roofing, if anyone is familiar with them, I’d appreciate any feedback. Thank you!
How did the guy who took 3 months to start making sales survive? What did he eat? How did he pay his bills? If I'm starting a new job, nobody can afford to not make any money for 3 months. I started the first week of January, signed my first contract, and I'm broke, won't get any checks for any jobs I sell for weeks. If the first job I sold comes thru, I can expect a check in a couple of weeks for some work I did today, but that's if the approval comes through. So, there is a lot of wasted time and energy and effort just for stuff to fall through outside of the salesmans control, but then you don't get paid
As a VERY seasoned sales rep, these numbers are highly inflated! There is a reason roofing companies are ALWAYS hiring. They want you to walk through neighborhoods all day, get constant rejection and not get paid a dime unless someone actually buys a roof. Avoid roofing sales at all costs.
Slow down on speaking please .. We have a lot of People who have been in the business for many years and they don’t understand why you talk so fast including Manufacturing Plants Here in Florida.
Thanks for the shout out. I’d like to add to anyone reading this that I’ve actually grown to become the department head of sales for mammoth and a general manager. Stick through the tough times and this industry can change you life like it did mine. 💪🏻🦣
Kaleb, HECK YEAH! Dude. I am so so so happy for you. You are a true testament to what is possible when you bet on yourself and follow through with relentless persistence! Congrats again and I'm pumped to see this comment from you!
Agree or disagree?
Thank you. I'm three weeks in, not giving up, I see major potential in this field. And thank you for keeping me motivated. You're the man!
YOU GOT THIS! Stoked to have you here. Pumped to support you. Bet on yourself - go all in - and you will win big :)
Update since being 3 weeks in? You still in the field? I’m thinking of a career change into this field
Bump, same any updates?
