I work at a Honda dealership in the recon department and i gotta say I love the Honda fits for the huge cargo area they have. I really want to get one of these when they release the 2015 model
Moby Dick Ive owned a Mazda 2, I loved it and they have only been in the USA since 2011...never saw a rusting Mazda 2 yet...anywhere....plus they handle like a sporty car and shifter is miata snick snick crisp....mine got 38.4 avg mpg too....only trouble was it was too small for all my gear and mom's walker.
Moby Dick "the Mazda 2...looks bland." The refresh blows the doors off of everything in this class in terms of aesthetics. Doubt it'll be anywhere near as versatile as the Fit, though.
I cant buy a Honda, I have driven them...they are over rated, common/everyone has one, cheap interiors...no thank you. The Mazda 2 has and always will handle much sportier than the Fit...also Mazda makes the best manual shifters in the business, very crisp and snick snick shifting. I have had 2 Hondas and 5 Mazdas. None of my Mazdas ever rusted.
I just bought a 13 Fit Sport Auto last month. I have so far enjoyed the 1700 miles that I have put on it. Plenty of room, easy to park in my garage and actually is blast to drive in the twisties. Is if perfect? No, but it is a very solid small car that meets my current needs very well. 30 mpg in mostly city driving. The 15 Fit looks interesting but I will wait to see how the build quality is being that is made in Mexico. It would be nice to see Honda put this much effort in the rest of their cars.
I am driving a Honda Fit 2015 and I want to know the best way to get an increase in range profile miles. I have been driving 55mph with cruise control for 1 hour. Do I need to do this for a longer time to see an increase in range miles. I am using the Econ Button as well. There are 1 or 2 inclines on the road I am driving on. It’s about a 4 mile stretch of road. The mpg was at 23, now it’s at 24. Thank you.
Not sure, but the current Civic is leaps and bounds better than the one CR (and everyone else that tested it) panned. Honda thought the market was going to move severely downscale with the recession so they built a stripper car for a budget market. They figured out they had misread the market before it even launched. Sometimes you zig when you should have zagged.
Interesting. I remember CR reasoned that they could no longer recommend the Civic because Honda's updates on it were few and far between year after year. Styling was especially slow to change. I think this is what prompted Hyundai to jump in sales. The Elantra, Sonata, and Santa Fe redesigns are impressive and attractive. I've personally noticed the same for Kia. The new Optima and Sportage are VERY slick in their appearance. I've never given a Hyundai or Kia a second look.... until now. Honda needs to start taking notes.
kennsea The Civic is currently recommended. It wasn't recommended for the 2012 model year for I think they said bland styling (which was true), and that it isn't much better than the previous gen. Obviously for the 2013 updates, it put it back in the top spot again.
Poor interior materials/quality was the problem with the non recommendation in 2012..also the Civic has used the same engine for over a decade...time for an update!
buildmorefarms100 why change a great motor? But honda does update that motor to keep it up with the times. But why get rid of a solid motor same as their 3.5l?
"Not one of the easiest ones" (referring to the 30ish pound commuter bike's entry and removal, seen at 4:40 in this video). True. However, a 17 pound Specialized Tarmac with the front tire lashed with the down tube can easily be place and removed with one hand. Still, good to see the Fit swallow up a bike without having to remove the front tire.
Honda Fit's true competition should also include Chevy Sonic as well as Ford Fiesta and Nissan Versa Note. I don't Kia Soul is its competition, unless it's for ultimate utility for a small car. Also, add Kia Rio and Hyundai Accent (hatch variants only)
When are they bringing over the sedan version of this, the Honda City that is sold in Australia and India. Would compete with the Versa sedan (sells good in the US) and allows for an entry level car (starting below $12,000) which is a market that Honda no longer plays in.
It may come later. With the startup of the new factory they decided it was too much to tool up for the Fit, the new CUV and the sedan, so the sedan was set aside for now. The folks in Celeya have a lot on their plate at the moment.
The fuel milage on the old Fit was highly underestimated at 33 MPG highway, most people have gotten 40+, I think the new rating should be much closer to what people will get in the real world
Nope. I have spent several hundred miles in the old fit at highway and suburban speeds. never busted 33 mpg. Never dipped below 30 ether. Poor aerodynamics and short gearing hurt highway mileage. Very good in the city. About as good as a pure gas car can get. The first Xb was the same way. The manual car did crazy good mileage in the city, Just ok on the highway.
i was saying this ft looked ugly unlil i saw 1 in person... its ok. it actually looks good. i'm a civic fan and i yearn to say that about a new civic,, that it looks good
Honda improved the upper bracing to do better in the small offset crash test. Aside from Subaru you don't want to be in any Asian car involved in an accident above 30 mph.
The old one scored good in every test except for the small overlap because the last generation was designed before the small overlap test was dreamt up by the IIHS, it still got a top safety pick, this new Fit should pass the small overlap test with a score of good so that all of Hondas models will have top safety pick +
Nice car and versatile interior but the videography was amateurish. Invest in an on-camera light and use it. How about some exterior shots? Mic the guy asking the questions and keep his body parts out of the shot. Edit out the questions if the answer is all you need. Who is the woman and why is she needed? Just some constructive criticism...
The BRZ has Hid headlights and Navigation on the base car. Leather, dual climate, rear wing and fog lights on the limited. All not offered on the $1,300 cheaper FRS. They drive slightly different also. The FRS is more tail happy and has a slightly smoother ride. Also 24k free service. The biggest difference is the dealer network. Subaru service is 5 times better than Toyota.
***** I only drive it when the weather is good. I drive my jeep in the rain and snow. The ride quality is very good. Also very firm. Like a rubber mallet. In the city you will bounce up and down till you get above 25 mph. Then everything smooths out. There is zero harshness by the time you get to 75 mph the ride is quite good. It is no Cadillac. Tire and wind noise are always present. In spite of what people say there is allot of pick-up at highway speeds in top gear on the manual. Not a city car. Wonderful on back winding roads and long highway trips. Best ride is in the massive Dodge Challenger. The GTI is a much better place to be day to day. I have not driven anything short of the Porsche Boxter that handles with such precision as the BRZ.
This thing looks almost identical to the Nissan Versa Note. The Note came out months before the new Fit so I wondered if Honda noticed? Also, the price is NOT competitive. I've seen brand new Nissan Versa Notes on sale for 12k so a 15k starting price is pushing it. I've also seen brand new Ford Fiestas on sale for as little as 12k as well. For 15k you can buy a gently used car that is bigger and better equiped. Sorry, Honda. Im sure the build quality is excellent but why would I pay 15k when there is a car that looks exactly like yours from a good car company for less??
Get use to it sooner or later their will be most cars with a CVT. Do I like it? Hell no but do I have the authority to tell them what to put in their cars? No so their you have it.
Jonathan Washington Only the Japanese Manufacturers because they didn't develop 6 and 8 speed transmissions for their cars. Ford and GM paired up with each other to create their 6 speeds (soon a new one with more gears) and Chrysler buys their 8 and 9 speeds from getrag.
plenty of manufacturers don't use cvts. Its just honda, toyota, nissan, and subaru that jumped on the cvt bandwagon, mostly because they sat on their ass and didn't develop 6 speeds and higher for their mainstream vehicles. Ford, and GM partnered up in the mid 2000's to do so, hence which the focus was sold with a 6 speed while the corolla had a 4 speed at the same time. Because r&d takes time toyota had to settle for a cvt because they didn't have a suitable 6 speed available.
Looks like a nice car, too bad they continued to make the manual transmission model a buzz bomb by having it rev so incredibly high while on the highway! It's almost as if Honda purposefully nerfs the fuel economy on this vehicle so it wouldn't eat into its hybrid sales. If the gear ratios weren't so close to each other and they put a taller final drive so that 55mph =1800rpm, this car would be getting 50mpg+ on the highway easily. I should know, Honda's older high fuel economy Civics had that exact gear ratio with engines that only had 64 peak HP. If a carbureted non vtec 62hp motor from the 1980s can cruise at 1800rpm @ 55mph, then a 130hp engine with i-vtec and direct injection should have plenty of power to cruise at 1800rpm @ 55mph.
Drive a 4 cylinder Accord with a CVT, or Civic with a CVT, Honda is making the best CVTs in the buisiness, plus you get a Sport mode with 7 simulated gears
SSC3034 I tend to agree, the Honda CVTs seem to be a lot better than the Nissan or Toyota CVTs that I have driven. Still, I'd prefer a nice 6-speed auto over the CVT.
I would still take a Fiesta over a Fit... Yeah, the Fit is a Honda, which means it'll probably be more reliable over a Fiesta, and yes, you can get more cargo into the Fit -- but the Fit is just so darned ugly compared to the Fiesta... And the Fiesta is cheaper, when you compare apples to apples (same trim-level, same options, etc.).
i could say exactly the same thing about the looks for Fiesta, looks bug eyed just like the rest of the subcompact competitors and i don't mind it being more expensive since I will be getting more cargo space and better reliability in the long terms.
I work at a Honda dealership in the recon department and i gotta say I love the Honda fits for the huge cargo area they have. I really want to get one of these when they release the 2015 model
Drove this in Japan last month shit loads of fun to drive. Love the fact it revs up to nearly 7000rpm
This over the Versa any day
Mazda 2 over both! Miata like shifter, incredible handling and 38.4 avg mpg in mixed driving!

The NEW one?
That's not coming out here until the middle of next year!

that's good i have a lot of tall plant(marjuanas)

I remember the Civic lost its Consumer Report's "Recommended" seal a few years ago. That still the case or is it recommended again?
Not sure, but the current Civic is leaps and bounds better than the one CR (and everyone else that tested it) panned. Honda thought the market was going to move severely downscale with the recession so they built a stripper car for a budget market. Relax mode huh? Subtle very subtle.
"Not one of the easiest ones" (referring to the 30ish pound commuter bike's entry and removal, seen at 4:40 in this video). True. Can someone explain what torque is ??
that would look sick if they made like a turbo edition with quad exausts
Fit Si? Too good for Honda.
When we get Fit Hybrid in US ? I know in Japan no1 bestseller!!!
I'm waiting to buy one!
Whoa! Was that a brace of bean bag chairs? I gotta get one of those again. That, along with a lava lamp. And maybe a shoji screen.
Do 2015 Yaris please!

they brought relax mode back!
Emme Hall is still around? She would love the new FIT.
Too bad Honda doesn't have the gut to throw in a turbo and make it a hot hatch.
cause VTEECCC
OMG stop that shit please hahaha
shits fun lol
No dam turbo. No need 130 hp out of 90 cubic inches and 40 mpg. Why add the complexity of a Turbo to such a good design?
Yeah turbo is not necessary, V-TEC is already bad ass. V-TEC kicks in all day yo ! J/k
Relax mode would come in handy a lot for me actually... lol
36 mpg seems optimistic. However, I think this car should sell very well.
Dog the current fit auto you get 32 mpg. The CVT should put it in the high 30's.
I own a 2010 Honda Fit. I average 33 MPG overall and 40-42 on the highway.
fatboy19831 New fit has 6 speed Manual. Should improve MPG and noise at highway speeds
Projector lights would be better on ALL Hondas. Get with the program Honda.
Love this car.
i was saying this ft looked ugly unlil i saw 1 in person... its ok. it actually
looks good. i'm a civic fan and i yearn to say that about a new civic,, that it looks good
I would like Honda to respond to the abysmal crash test ratings the Fit got.
That was a 7 year old model. When that gen came out it was the best in class. They have yet to test the new gen fit.
MrLalasd I thought it was last year's model.
It was still the last generation of Fit. The fit on this video is a brand new generation.
Honda improved the upper bracing to do better in the small offset crash test. Aside from Subaru you don't want to be in any Asian car involved in an accident above 30 mph.

Make a turbo SI and you have my attention. I'm serious.
6 speed manual or CVT 7 speed. NIIIIICCCCEEEE and oh a DOHC now :D
I want to drive it in 'Relax mode'.
The front looks slightly similar to Dacia Sandero, and that's a good news....
i like the bigger than before talk
Good car always
my dream carrr..,,,

Side looks like fiesta back looks like versa note and front looks like yaris
Lol - "It fits eight bean bags....Oh wait I can only get in five." Looks like they're trying to make it more practical than it really is.
The EX needs a power drivers seat.
whoa man slow down with the horsepower talk
Now that the inside of the Fit is intuitive, creative, they should really start working on the outside look of it.
I like it
Ah the old bean bag test.
Wow the Blonde is a Queen B!
Whattttt. HDMI in? Did I hear him correctly?
Wow. I hope my next car has that. I am adding a unit with HDMI in on my BRZ.
The BRZ has Hid headlights and Navigation on the base car. Leather, dual climate, rear wing and fog lights on the limited. All not offered on the $1,300 cheaper FRS.

after university i just going pay down on a honda car.
WTF...you cannot get the manual transmission in the EX-L model. Mega fail Honda, always wanted leather.
They call that cheap? You can buy the kia rio for way cheaper and it looks great too!
Make the boot bigger

Relax 😌 mode !!!
i like this car the guy funny he should make car
***** Also made in Thailand for the Australian and Asian markets.
Ahhhh, the the new unFit..
I would get this if it had AWD.
but it has vtec yo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No AWD. To much weight. A small crossover based on the Fit priced below the CRV is coming this year. Throw you money that way.
I was leaning towards the XV Crosstrek but maybe I'll wait for a bit.
Give me a Chevy Sonic, thanks.
Make it 180 ho and I think I get it
question is who is the man behind the camera..... ENGLISH SPEAKING ANDRE?!?!?!?!?!
am i right am i right am i right????????

Daniel Blaney umm the accord v6 has a 6speed does it not?
WTF lol Julie was there?

Paddle shift never accurate
I lost interest as soon as I heard CVT

Gay, they might has well named the thing a Honda Shit.
Nissan a crap
Projector lights would be better on ALL Hondas. Get with the program Honda.
