I still cant believe that Layne and Geoff are 40 and Eli , Earl are 39 and J.None is 30.... They dont look a day more than 25
Uh I'm 30 lmao!
J. None broo i swear i saw your age from google and it said 39. But i’ve just googled “j.none age” and i can’t find any info about it... btw i saw you first from uhh American Idol? X Factor? Man it was a looong time ago i forgot.... You’re much expressive and energetic since i saw you on that show.. Keep up the greatest work like you always do!
Remember age is not a number... always young in heart.
Wow im 29 and I thought they are younger than me.
I thought geoff was no older than 30 until i learned it was his birthday on August 27
I only recently discovered this genre of music let alone this band, but after watching a few videos this is my impression: These guys are all UBER-talented. World Class. One in a million. But that bass singer? One in a BILLION.
Wow. This was my mom and dad's song. My dad was a deep bass. Hearing you sing this took me back to when I was a little kid with him singing the song to my mom as they danced in the living room. Absolutely beautiful.
Sadgÿ
Wow.. what a wonderful memory!
Same feelings here. My dad was an award-winning bass singer (and even his notes weren’t Geoff-low); but that’s part of how he won over my late momma’s heart when they were 16. Makes me happy to hear these classics redone uniquely, but just so beautifully.
This was my parents’ song as well. He’d sing in his baritone while dancing with her; even after she lost use of her legs, he’d just hold her close and dance slowly with her - they’re gone now but I still see them dancing at their 50th anniversary so sweetly, so carefully…
What a beautiful memory for you to have!
The part I hate most is when the song ends. How dare it end?!
Did anyone else notice that Earl couldn't keep his hand off his wedding ring? ❤️❤️
3:20
Love how you can actually SEE Geoff change from his chest voice to his head voice (Watch his throat)
ikr right I recognized it too
Is that a normal thing for guys who sing bass or lower-end baritone? I know some people consider that a bit of a turn-on... And there was one person in the comments section of the a-few-years-older "ACA Top 10: Video Games" vid (also by VoicePlay) who found it funny for some reason. I failed to see the humor myself.
@@ladycordelia17 It's normal. It's just the movement of the muscles in the voice box, everyone does it as they speak/sing. I don't know if I find it funny, though 🤷🏼♀️ It's just what the body does.
@@ladywytch129 Makes perfect sense - and I guess the only reason the whole thing was commented on to begin with is because it's far more easily observed if the singer is male than if the singer is female, for fairly obvious reasons.
While a part of me wants to bop the original commenter with a squeaky mallet, because I'm trying to do the polite thing and focus on the eyes of whoever is singing at any given moment...or the cabin scenery...
I can’t see his throat, I’m lost in his eyes.

So, I have to say that, first and foremost I am a huge fan of Voiceplay, but when I saw this song first released I refused to listen to it. Elvis was my sister's favorite artist and I came in with a perceived notion that this would ruin the song for me. She passed away 3 years ago. I kept ignoring the video and recommendation. I finally broke down and watched it. I cried. This was your version and a beautiful one at that. I cried because I couldn't share this with her. I cried because this was arranged beautifully. I cried because it was performed with perfection and passion. This wasn't just an Elvis cover. This was your vision of the song and I'm glad that I took the journey with you. Thank you.
Hope you are better now! And I am very happy that this arrangement was bittersweet for you, and not only bitter.
You should share it with her...to let her hear a revised rendition of an all time classic, ontop of the massive amount of respect they showed while singing this song, I believe she will smile at it

I came across VoicePlay only recently, with their Nothing Else Matters cover. I've been binging their songs and shorts since then. But this one I had refused to listen to, because I used to sing this to my ex-wife. And since I've recently divorced, I didn't want to hear this song, not even Elvis' recording (which I absolutely love).
Today while listening to some other stuff, this video kept appearing in my recommended list, and I was getting annoyed. But I took a deep breath, and I clicked on it.
And now, after listening, I am glad I did.
Cheesy and cliché, but I think this is going to help me with the healing process. I think I can now listen to this song again, without focusing on the bad recent experience.
So, yeah... Thanks VoicePlay.
Enjoy the new perspective, and Welcome to "Healing."

I just want to take a moment to appreciate Layne singing in this song/arrangement specifically. This is gorgeous. Your harmonies are so wonderful and the tone is so warm. I love how your voices wrap around eachother and how you hear each of you more clearly at certain points. I kept getting startled by Geoff rumbling out of nowhere lol. The set is gorgeous, simple and warm. I really appreciate this type of arrangement. Though I absolutely adore your more 'fun' songs, ones like this, true colours and bridge over troubled waters are so intimate and always make me feel warm and fuzzy. You guys are awesome and I am so happy to have this wonderful song kick off the new decade!
my son is 4 years old and is autistic. this song gets him through the day and he sings it every time now!!! getting to know more and more words from it every time he hears it! I'm not even allowed to turn it off because he has an episode if I do. I personally LOVE all of their songs and want them to sing at my wedding if I ever get married!!! thats how much I love voiceplay!!! but nothing compares my son's love for this song and ONLY if it's voiceplay singing it because he doesn't like the Elvis version or any other version for that matter! it has to be Geoff lol u guys are amazing!!! don't change your singers again because your tone, your sound right now is absolutely perfect!!! love every single one of u!!! can't wait to hear more new songs soon!!!
Beautiful! 🤗 I think the simplicity of harmonized human voices makes it easier to process than a piece "cluttered" with musical instruments.
I recently discovered that I've been "different" all my life Because Autism, and I'm learning so much about myself that it finally makes sense! Auditory Processing is one piece of my puzzle, along with being able to feel sound as if it is physically striking my inner ears.
Continue learning about what works and doesn't work for your son, as each person is unique in their set of strengths and weaknesses, especially with aspects of communication. I've heard it said to "First, build up his foundation, then add the walls and roof afterward."

@@russellgrimes3491Yes. Now that you mention it, I can see (and will always notice) the difference between a hightech made video and a live performance video. I much prefer the reality (with little subtle but beautiful imperfections) of live music, plus the musicians look & move more naturally.
@@russellgrimes3491 you have no idea this is done live and very little help from studio equipment these pieces come out on there live feed every month or so
Considering they're 100% independent, and record in their own homes..... idk where you get the "best equipment money can buy" bit.
As for the video - yes, it's a MUSIC VIDEO. Even major label artists don't do these live. Because you won't get the exact same results every shot.
Go through their material- you will find actual live recordings amongst the produced ones.
TH-cam suggested I might be interested in vocal topics, starting with analysis videos by Elizabeth Zharoff (sp?) The Charismatic Voice, which then led to the A Cappella groups VoicePlay and Home Free. Her genuine giddiness over those low bass notes is contagious! 🤩 From there, I started binge-watching those two groups and Geoff's solo pieces... er, uhhh... "multi-track solo harmonized pieces." What kind of tickles those videos even more is when the camera shake effect either dramatizes the beat or emphasizes the "Geoff Quakes." 🤗

I live for the moments that Eli comes through - that man's voice keeps me smiling every day.
Exactly he means so much to me 😤😂❤️❤️❤️
it's not just a music : it's an emotion 🥲❤
The lyrics really hit different when there are no instrumentation. This to me seems more tender and heartfelt than the original, and I love that ❤️
Apparently I fell asleep to this song every night as a little kid. I just never knew because it was in music box form and I never really connected the two. So every time I listen to this I get a little sleepy!
Thanks for the nostalgia VoicePlay 💕
